Nowhere there did it mention the Sprint HTC Hero.
Someone else, already posted in another thread, screenshots from Sprint's database, clearly stating the update in May.

Seriously. Thanks to these guys, I'm so happy with my phone now I don't care if they ever *OFFICIALLY* release 2.1
I wonder what the screenshots of this mean then

Please before you start yet another thread about when the update is coming, follow the link in your reference article. If you would have, then you would have seen that this was referring to the hero in the UK and not the sprint hero.
i think it's funny how many "official" news comes out, with the umpteen "in the know" employees and stuff surfing these forums... maybe I should put a "" around employees as well...

Sprint 2.1 Eclair Release (HTC Hero & Samsung Moment)

Here's some info that i got earlier today, thought I would share with everyone:
the 2.1 update will be OTW Only, and available from Sprint.com/Download once released.
File size for the HTC Hero will be ~117mb, and Samsung Moment ~80mb
Post 2.1 MRs will be OTA as long as sizes are within sprint's technical capabilities (9mb limit on OTA), Otherwise they will be OTA from Google or OEM sources.
Release dates:
Moment - April 30
Hero - Week of May 1
So keep your eyes peeled, and before anyone asks, the reason that the Hero update is being released after the Moment, is due to Sense implementation.
Enjoy!

It's as true as it comes, i can't divulge my direct source without risking losing my job, and it's not worth it.
But, i'll say this, the info is a synopsis of information that TSS and ATS groups got as of yesterday concerning the update, and it comes from the development group. It's information we can give over the phone, but all we can say is that it's information from the development group working on the update.

Also agree, except I never check general and wouldn't have known. This is definitely very good news. It's nice seeing my purchase decision affirmed by continued support, upgrades, etc.

Can't wait. At least I will get a little ICS on something, since the Galaxy Nexus only exists in our imagination and the UK.

Yeah it made my week too. I am really upset with Verizon, but that's not new, about the whole world having the Galaxy Nexus but not here. So, ICS on my Galaxy tab heals my wounds.
So hopefully in a couple of weeks we may see ICS on our tabs it will be great

The only question that remains for me now is:
Which will come first: ICS on SGT10.1 or the Asus Transformer Prime?
I also hope they get flash working however limited its lifespan is i still visit a lot of sites that use flash

Adobe announced that they have one more build release to add support for 4.0, but that will be it (aside from standard bug and security fixes I suppose).
http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/21/flash-for-android-not-quite-dead-yet-will-land-on-ice-cream-san/
Who knows if this will change in the future, but if any Android release in the future breaks this compatibility that might be it for Flash on mobile devices altogether.

It's actually a huge detail. I for one will be happy just to see ICS, but ICS will pale in comparison to CM9.
Why wouldn't it be a cm build? The only reason we don't have one right now was because of the source not being released for honeycomb and cm doesn't downgrade devices. Shoot, cyanogen now works for Samsung, so they'd have a business incentive to get ics on the gt10.1 fast (albiet unofficially) considering it's their flagship tablet.

Icecream sandwich is out

I am downloading the update right now. Even though the server is a lil slow I can't to see what this 4.0 has to offer. Woah keep up the good work acer.

Yea I know but not everyone follows the tech media like others do. Some people might thing that the Google announcement of the Galaxy Nexus meant it was released already.
Just saying that we shouldn't be so mean to people who don't know otherwise.
