just got my lg c900 today from ebay, and when i insert my att sim card, it says "invalid sim card"...
But I have been using this sim card on other devices, like nokia 2710 and my touch 3g and they work fine!!
So i tried someone else's sim card(Att), it works too!!!
What should i do.....
You need to unlock the phone to use with other carrier. There are a lot of unlocking services that can help you to unlock it.
Aha!
I had the exact same 'problem' and freakou... er... reaction.
You have to activate a plan on the SIM card. Only then will it stop giving you the INVALID SIM message at startup.

Jesus! Is there no other way out? I didn't buy it from AT&T and don't want to pay for the data plan....
can i just don't make a data plan but just enable the data connection?
If you want to use the phone or Data (excluding Wifi) functions of the phone, you'll need to have some sort of plan or prepaid account associated with the SIM card.
It doesn't mean you have to pay the 'Smartphone' package that AT&T offers (forces) when you get the phone on a contract. You don't even need to have a plan at all! You just need to activate an account online.
Thanks, but actually this is not my contract phone. I bought it from someone else. In my current contract my device is a basic phone, but I enable the data connection function(pay per usage).
But it's still not working...what a wp7....
what do you mean by activating an account online? I already got my account.
Well, on Telus, you just had to activate a phone by entering the SIM number (it's on the little card you received with the SIM or sometimes on the SIM itself) in the 'Activate your Phone' wizard.
Problem fixed!!!!
I call the ATT customer service and they update my sim card information. now it works!!!
Excellent to hear! I'm glad your problem got fixed
Verizon 7.7 LTE - Toggling "Mobile Data" gets "please insert SIM card" message
Hi Everyone,
Hopefully someone has an answer to this, it's very annoying when i go to turn off the mobile data with the quick access toggle in the notification panel (or even to switch on airplane mode) that when i go to turn it back on, I get this message to "please insert the sim card to access network services". I have not done any physical removal of the sim card during this process. Usually this requires me to power off and power on the device (afraid to eject and reinsert while the device is on and i've been warned by Verizon reps that it may damage the sim card).
Does anyone know a fix for this? I prefer to be able to toggle that LTE connection at will for battery savings, but this is an annoying problem.
I don't turn mobile data on and off the way you describe, but every couple of days i get the 'please insert sim card' message. Rebooting fixes it.
I assume it is a software bug.

I bought a s4 from a friend. the phones working perfectly but can't use the data network. I called the company of my SIM card, they sent a text message for the settings of the data network and it still doesn't work. I'm suspecting it's because of the firmware because the phone is from India.
Any suggestions ?
Are your running on stock or custom ROM? Are you sure you entered the APN correctly and you have a working data plan? Please post a screenshot with the results from dialling *#1234#
This phone I have had a att go Sim in it before I got it but now I activated my straight talk sim only 5o find I can't set up a new network unless I don't have to? There is no sim error only a no network symbol and it says searching for service. Curious on my options.
Hi Guys !
I have a Samsung S7 edge duos, for which i want to use two SIM cards - SIM 1 is my home SIM, and SIM 2 is a Global roaming SIM with data and Voice.
My question is whether its possible to set my phone in such a way that when I go on roaming i want my SIM 1 to deactivate data services and SIM 2 data services to kick in, since this a global SIM.
Is there an App for that or is there some kind of settings for the same.
Help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
John
Not sure if you can do this, maybe with a task scheduler? Best choice is just to manually set your SIM2 to be the main SIM.
The only thing that might work is to call transfer sim 1 to sim two so that any calls received will ring on sim 2 which you can select as the active.
You can not cross connect the apns since they are linked to different sim cards.
Did you try all the dual sim manager apps? they say they do just that!!!
