I just installed CM7 but I really like the look and feel of the B&N epub reader that comes stock. Is there an app for that?

No. The best you can do is install the Barns & Noble Android App.
BN Reader
This is a principal reason for dual boot.
thanks...I like CM7 better...i'll just DL a epub app
You can try Aldiko (sp?). It's a epub reader that has a dictionary inside like B&N.

I just played with it, I was able to add my own computer using an ip address. This way you can import the books that you already own.

The "LumiRead" provides an interface to books that you can purchase. You could also download from Amazon. These are legal downloads.
You can also try Project Gutenberg for some free clasics.
free science fiction and fantasy ebooks
Free and completely legal and available in a variety of formats.
I'm too new to post links so just google these two items?
baen free library
baen free cd
Please don't flame, but usually torrents to be honest. They're the easiest to ACTUALLY find. I have all the novels I download, so it's not that bad. But all my books work with an app called iReader. No, not made for apple. Just called that. lol.
I get most of my books from Barnes and Noble. I like the nook app, and they have a free book every Friday.

I personally read more-or-less only computers- and engineering-related books myself, and those are never on sale anywhere, let alone free :/
For lighter reading I just turn to Manga Watcher
Alright, I need a pdf reader that has the same interface and effects as the 'lumiread' and smoothness of 'the pdf to go'

Another vote for the nook reader. Very fast, comfortable night mode, with independent brightness setting, which makes it nice for reading in the dark, also will sync between devices for books you buy through their store, although mostly I just load epubs from other sources.
First, I find smashwords.com great for buying ebooks, in addition to bn.com
Also if you have a collection using Calibre for your desktop PC, I wrote "Calibre Library" for Android in the Google market. It's not free but it's only $2.99. It lets you browse your Calibre or other opds source wirelessly. Real geeks can even make it work over the Internet. ;-)

I've been using Aldiko Reader for ePub-format books from Baen's site (and the CDs they toss into every 2nd or 3rd book in big series it seems) for a couple of years; it also supports PDF viewing, not sure if it works with encrypted PDF though. The other nice thing about Baen is that once you've bought an eBook, you can download it in multiple formats (I started with Windows Mobile Reader and moved to ePub with a stop at RTF along the way.)
Otherwise I've got both the Nook and Kindle apps installed.
i just download pdf format and throw it in the lumi reader folder on the sd card. that way it picks it right up and has no problems with any pdf format.

Because they hide it! tap on the bottom of the page to bring up the settings, then on "all settings" it's listed under "page theme" select night and you get night mode. They also offer sepia and butter, if the default theme isn't creamy enough for anyone.
Is there anyway to run anything other than the android nook application on CM9... The stock nook reader software lets me see the magazines purchased on the account but the android application doesn't.

But not the mags? I remember having to do something to get them to show, redownload or something. You are looking at all items, right? Magazines show up differently than books.
Edit: If they do not eventually show up, I would call B&N. They should be there. Btw, don't mention you are running on a modded Nook Color. This app works perfectly on my gingerbread Galaxy Tab.

Sir, could you upload the latest version of this app? The store says that the app isn't available for my country.

Alright so I got my kindle fire yesterday and my immediate plan was to root it and flash the jandycane Rom everyone was talking about, so I read some threads about rooting this thing. But I then read flashing a any Rom would basicially defeat the purpose of a the kindle part and basically turn it in to an android tablet. And yes ive looked and searched, I'm not a noob so don't flame me. I just want to know what rom I could flash and keep the kindle properties and amazon properties.
Thank you, kole

Check out the MoDaCo ROM. It is the stock ROM, but has the Play Store preinstalled, so also gives you the functionality and choice of a normal tablet with as well as access to Amazon's services.

Thanks, I have the kindle app on my phone so I saw my books are backed up and can connect to the kindle store as well. So could I install jandycane and use the kindle app to still use kindle gift cards to buy books? Sorry for the questions, ive only had this thing for less than 24 hrs
EDIT: I guess if it would work to keep my books stored then I could just use my Pc to add the kindle gift cards

You mean you dual-boot? I've heard bad things about it, so I'm just using the kindle app, however I do have the Jandycane ROM and use other apps like the Kobo app, the Aldiko app, and the Google Books app so I have access to many sources of books.

Bad things? The only downside I've had is you have to split storage for two ROMS. But I still have plenty of room left.

I meant there's a certain amount of risk that the whole thing might be messed up during partitioning.
But both ROMs are installed on the system partition right? Rather than the sdcard partition?

That's true for everything you do to modify the Kindle. It's not too hard to do.
Alright, so I recently got a nexus 4 and noticed that under my google books i have a few books i did not purchase yet, they are on google books. From my last android phone I would load all my books onto my sd card and use aldiko or some other reader because i was unable to load them onto the google book app (I love the turning of a page on it, smooth and fluent, no one else offers this to my knowledge)
My question is HOW did it end up on my google books?! I do not have a SD card with my books on it in my phone because it doesnt have SD support.
I am confused on how books I didnt pay for ended up on it. Did google finally allow transfering of books onto there application? I know they didnt allow it before. If anyone can shed some light on this, that would be great. haha.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thankyou Daniel

Go to settings, security and check off unknown sources. That way you can sideload apps. Search the forums for the nook app and you can download and install that on the Tab. It runs on it. Then you will have access to your books.

Thanks but that's not working! i think it's more on Nook side. Does nook check to see if your using a Nook device and if so they block other devices from running using or downloading certain Nook books???.

Is the nook app running? My GT2 runs the Nook app fine and makes my books available. What version are you trying to run?
Edit: you may be trying to download certain magazines. I heard other users say some magazines would not load on the Nook app. Or kids interactive books will not run.

Yes the nook app is running I can see the books in my library but it says not compatible. I'm using the latest ver. 3.4.0.89
