Video recording - Xperia Arc General

Hello everyone
when I watch a video recorded by arc I hear a massive amount of noise, and the sound is messed up, for ex, I recorded a video of my car revving from arc and my old phone, you do the comparison.
I want to know if my phone is faulty or not.
arc: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Icxre4ee_E0
my old phone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKDCkVicVyg

I also got a similar issue..I got a video but the video image and the sound dont match with each other.like the sounds play ahead of the video..This happened in HD mode

Htc hd2 Video distorted.

Hi im really hoping to find some help here. just yesterday i came back from a trip to disney world with the family. i took a 5 minute video of the fireworks show and when i look at the video now on my phone it wont show up. i hooked it up to my computer and transfered the video over but when i play it on my computer it will show up but its all distorted with green boxes dissaperaing a reappearing. the only way i can watch the video on my phone is with tcpmp and even then it still shows distorted, the sound is perfect but the video isnt. funny enough i had shot a 2 min video before that one seconds before on my phone and it came out perfect. any ideas as to why this happened. and ideas on how i can get the video i shot to look normal again? maybe repair it? any help would be well appreciated.
just a lil bump.. no help at all?
I have this issue also. It only does this when I do videos longer than 2 or 3 minutes back to back. I would love a solution as I am losing really good material due to it. Like you said, the sound is perfect but the green tint distorts the video. I did notice the phone gets hot while taking the video so may be that has something to do with the issue.
I'm starting to think now this phone is a POS and completely waste of money when it comes to multimedia. I mean let's be honest here name of the phone is HD2 (high definition) yet it can't even play HD video let it be OS related, as we at it let's be real we all know its also limited to 65k colors. Far as video goes by now all know the audio sync issue, along with the original pink aurora BS. I wonder if Evo has this problem.
PS: This is not a rant so all you fanboys take it easy.

Ummm no. I play HD movies all the time. Most of my videos come out fine. This isn't an everyday issue.
Hello guys and gals. This is my first post and sadly it's in regard with a problem. I have the same issue with the recorded movie files. If it's bigger then 5 minutes sometimes it ends up unusable. This only happens after i changed the sd card with a new 8gb one. I wonder ...

Addicus I suggest you look in to this thread: Major flaw in the HTC HD2: 250ms Audio Delay
Even with extended detailed test if you still say you have no audio sync issue in video and time time hickups as it freeze then post what you are doing in that thread. Most of us has to encode the video and use filter to compensate for it.

Concert footage request: Galaxy S 720p

alright, i'm considering buying a galaxy s after i attended a john mellencamp concert and attempted to record video with my hermes. ... needless to say it didnt work worth a damn.
from what ive seen the SGS hasa great camera. imhoping somebody has tried it during a concert. if so, could someone please provide the video/images?
hell any video/images will work. preferablly 720 though.
thanksbois!
check Youtube
its all the same launch concert mostly, im looking for .. something different? i dont know. the more variety the more i can justify buying one.
how about something non promo or paid by samsung
here check this one out from yesterday's concert
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=776975
I did some video recording on a concert a couple of weeks ago - and while the picture quality was decent, well good for me, the audio was screeching bad No wonder though, rock-ish concert after all.
all audio ive heard recorded from the galaxys has been utter hell, what concert was it?
edit: offtopic for houseavatarguy, you live in norway? do you ever come across Urge the pop? we dont have it in the US anymore and its supposed to be still floating around norway lmfao
Many users have reported bad microphone audio on the SGS. It seems to be a software issue, so it may be fixed in a future firmware release, but I wouldn't count on it.
Here's a thread about it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=721069
Edit:
And about urge: Yes we still have urge in 0.5 l and 1.5 l (l for litre/liter) bottles, and an energy drink with a different taste on 0.5 l cans.
Read this wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urge_(soft_drink)
is definnitely not a hardware problem, but rather a volume level customization.
right now we have no option to manually adjust the volumen level for the mic
also we do not have option to set the Quality bit rate of the recorded audio
if some one can create a HACK utility to let rooted end users access those controls, then the problem is gone.
here is a link to a video i shot a couple of weeks ago. i am happy with the picture, but the sound is brutal. in all fairness, i did not cover the mic at all as i wasnt even thinking about it being too loud.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8181257/the specials/video-2010-08-28-22-48-29.3gp
i do recall a similar issue with some nokia nseries devices, and a way around it is to plug in the wired headset and let the wired mic record the sound. i am not able to try it at the moment, but can someone can try that and let us know if it works?
well the hondaguy video is encouraging. very encouraging, it handled the random lights pretty darn well id say.
i saw this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bGX3Ank5hk last night and it .. scared me completely lmfao
i was surprised when i watched the video on my pc. i wish i was able to get more but the slam dancing started and i didnt want to drop it
same crap that they tried to pull with symbian i8910 last year. samsung uses amr to record audio which is good enough only for speech. under pressure from i8910 users they finally gave in and supplied aac but such a low bitrate that it offered only marginally better quality over amr.
why they do this???? licensing. they own amr whereas they dont own aac.
my plan is to build an enclosure inside my hat for it. so i can actually get most of the concert.

Bad sound quality by Video Recording

do u mean that the sound is bad no matter what?
fwiw I have recorded probably 20 videos already, never noticed a problem with sound. I do not expect studio quality THX level sound though from my phone.

yeah, ur right. I dont expect a THX quality as well, but I just checked Xperia Arc does it in 48KHz and iPhone 4 in 44KHz and the iphone's sound quality seems quite good, but I guess it might have a better mic

Video sound quality - pretty bad

Hi all
Did not come across any threads about this yet, surprisingly!
I was recording video out in a nightclub, and was very disappointed to find that the music sounded horrible. Never had such problem on my HTC one when recording at concerts or clubs.
Here is the link of the video, I uploaded on youTube
http://youtu.be/SMpa7rumrHY
Otherwise, the OnePlus has been awesome so far!
Trance family, you listen to Markus Schulz? Love trance! Sucks about the sound, you on stock app?
Sound quality in general when it comes to recording nightclubs/gigs/concerts are pretty bad with the bass etc etc.
Not to mention "Turn It Up" is a song that involves a lot of bass and drops.
Try it in a closed atmosphere like at home and test the quality of the sound.
Ensure audio codec is AAC as well.

haha yeh man love markus Schulz! one of my fav trance DJs
yeh stock camera app, running 33R stock and Franco 20 kernel.
I noticed this as well. I really doesn't take a lot to distort the audio with OPO (and surprisingly when I had my Samsung Note 2 and ran a CM based rom I had this problem as well, using stock samsung camera / rom not a problem).
Not sure if this is phone related or just the camera app/rom combo.
I do have a sub in my car but I have recorded clearly with my old Note 2 but OPO it distorts like a mofo. It's quite embarrassing.

Damm thats a bad mic...it sounds horrible
I wanted to make the switch from the m7 too,but i do record sometimes at concerts and clubs...And the htc m7 does this perfect.
So this is a no go for me this oneplus one,A pitty):
The early m7s had dual membrane mics specifically for recording in very loud concert environments. Some supply issue came up with the manufacturer and they had to stop supplying to htc because of nokia.

Yep I remember that when the M7 came out, it was a bit of a fuss!
Ah familiar issue.
Went to a party last week and recorded some videos, as soon as the bass drops you only hear crackling noises on the video.
Friend recorded with his iphone and the recorded audio sounded a LOT better.
I also tried to cover the microphone to see if that helped but it made no difference.
Known Bug
That's a known issue.
Have a look at the Cyanogenmod JIRA Ticket No. BACON-64
If you are registered there, please give it a vote, so it will soon be fixed.
has anybody found a fix for this? will changing to a different rom solve the problem? cyanogen just dont wanna fix this problem. its been a reported bug for ages now. even before the OPO.
I m also facing the same problem, please let us know if anyone find a fix
Sent from my A0001 using XDA Free mobile app
This problem can be fixed with the Boeffla-Kernel for OPO, but they need the technical documentaion of the "WDC9320" audio codec.

Does somebody know whether it for it already a solution has given?
Found this on the OP forums
Code:
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/audio-clipping-in-loud-environments.108129/
:
"So ive tried heaps of things to try and fix this bug, one thing that may have worked is downloading this free app from the app store
Code:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grace.microphone&hl=en
and setting mic gain to 0. i have done this and the audio quality has increased 100% and is comparable with the iphone."
Most likely a ****ty mic on the oneplus, nothing to do with the software.
HTC one uses unlicensed mic from Nokia, which is far superior.
Bump
Does anyone know whether this bug is present in Oxygen OS or not?

Background noise when recording video in silence

Hello boys,
Is all this background noise normal when recording video in complete silence???
https://youtu.be/T3qTX0aTv3o
I didn't notice until today, but I had not tried it before either. Normal recording with voice or music in the background is perfectly ok.
Thank you.

Yeah, well, maybe it fixes it, but if it is my phone that is faulty, I'd rather prefer to have that fixed.

I didn't have a nexus 4, but nexus 5 had this sort of problem too. But I can't remember it as bad as the video I posted. If it's software stuff or design flaw it can't be helped.. but I'd like to make sure that it's not just my device, otherwise I will better RMA it.

The intermittent buzzing(I think it actually sounds like a cat purring) is the auto-focus on the camera. It appears that every Nexus 6p has this issue in some capacity.
Here is a video I recorded demonstrating what I'm talking about.
When I noticed the issue an hour or so ago I started researching it myself and saw some videos others have recorded and posted of the problem and honestly it doesn't seem like it is as bad as it seems. The noise itself is very hard to hear if there is any background noise. I recorded my video in silence, so the "purring" is very audible, however in your video and others I could barely hear it, and that was while also listening for it.
In fact in my video I can't hear that clicking noise. I will try sometime doing the same test you did.
The reason of the thread was the general noise that you can hear at the background all the time. I ordered a replacement but it had the same noise, so I assume it's completely normal and I returned it since the screen of my first phone was, I think, better.
