This is easy as you can see above around the edges there is light spilling in.
so just open this image below crank on your tablet up the brightness and go somewhere dark.
So I now know I have screen bleeding. Not as bad as the one in that photo though.
Would Vodafone replace it? Would it effect the life of the screen?

Vodafone have to replace it.
But they probably don't have any that don't suffer this defect.
Unsure about screen life, it shouldn't but it might.

What I want to know is why so many of these have screen bleeding. I feel like Samsung just didn't care when distributing this tablet, and wants to put their focus on the 10.1

Well I know that when my friends iPhone was insured with Optus and then stolen they replaced it with an iPhone 4.
If we waited till the release of the galaxy tab 10.1 maybe they would replace it with that?

Trade practices act will protect us on this:
They will have to fix it or replace it with something of equal or greater value (Which means the cannot give us a device like the P1000 and say fixed) & fit for purpose (The cannot just hand us a nexus S and say now go away)
In terms of exchange it depends on a couple of factor:
1. Only pluasable if Vodafail stock the new 10.1/8.9 (if there not getting it they cannot exchange it)
2. Samsung cannot fix this (if samsung can manuafacter a fix for this then we will get it fixed)
3. Vodafail don't decide it's not a real issue (It will get taken imidiatly to the ombinsmen if this does happen)

It just wasn't quality tested correctly, apple are the most comman offenders of this but other companys do make these mistakes once in a while hopefully it will get fixed.
We shouldn't make a big deal over it untill we know it's not getting fixed.
Also devices i own that suffer from screen bleeding now i know what it is and how to look for it.

Hey guys,
Since a couple of weeks I kept an eye on the HW-keys of my HD2. The laquer on them is vanishing more and more - it looks really crappy and somehow like it was an ugly full-plastique Nokia-phone...
Here some pics (quality isn't too good because the angle is quite tough):

Has anybody had a problem like this before and if so have you contacted HTC about this?
I'm definitely planning to notify HTC about that and want them to replace these HW-keys on warranty... I cannot accept this on a 600€ phone after 6 months...
My aunt has bought the HD2 recently and I realised that HTC obviously has already brought a new version of HW-buttons (also with phone-button clearly green and the off-button red - which I don't really like much).
Cheers!
Mine are also slowly coming off, but it isn't as 'present' as on yours. I barely use them buttons, but I think with my future switch to Android, they will indeed come off too..
I'm also interested in knowing whether HTC will be liable for this.

No, it's a German Vodafone-device (my aunts one).
Now I contacted HTC telefonically and I have to say: I never heard such a piece of rubbish from any mobile-manufacturer.
"Jenny" told me, that this is a "blamish" (in German "Schönheitsfehler") and I have to live with that, but I'm free to pay for a replacement - it is not a warranty-issue...
Sorry HTC, but if these are your last words, I'm gonna kick my HD2 to ebay and will NEVER buy a HTC-device anymore.
all i have done is scrap it off with my nail job done looks fine now no marks or nothing
That's because of misuse!!
You could protect your phone by placing it in a leather pouch, looks elegant, has the htc mark on it and cheap from ebay

I've been using it for a while now and the phone is still brand new

Sorry, but I NEVER "misuse" my phones or any electronic devices. I took and take care of my HD2 like it was made of 24 carat gold. And I of course carried my HD2 ALWAYS in a leather case that definitely does not scratch the hardware keys (checked it of course). I even didn't use the HW-keys at all for some time.
Everything I can say is, that I'm VERY dissapointed about HTC's customer care. I mean, the HW-keys are the only part of HD2 that is not made of better material than plastics - and I haven't ANY other signs of ANY usage at ANY part of the phone apart of these HW-keys (photos looking worse than it really is because of the flashlight of my digicam). I paid € 600,- for the phone and I definitely won't accept this barefaced answer from HTC.
the keys are covered and it feels cos of the edges and once it chips it continues all over they shouldn't have done them.
they should have just left them as they are
On 23 April, Samsung begun a countdown for the next galaxy with an anagram.

Yesterday, the countdown finally stopped and a teaser for the upcoming galaxy was posted.
SUMMARY OF VIDEO ACCORDING TO ME----
The video begins in the wilderness showing a distant city, all lit up in the night. The camera then zooms into outer space along with text that reads ‘Where a galaxy fits perfectly into your hand’. This is a subtle hint that the phone won’t be as massive as the Galaxy Note or possibly, the Galaxy Nexus. I have a feeling Samsung may just stick to the 4.3-inch screen but with a much higher resolution. This makes perfect sense and I hope they do that.
The camera then pans out across different galaxies along with another line, ‘Your view of the world grows even wider’. This could hint at the aspect ratio of the new phone. Any Other Guess! Anyone.
Then, it goes deeper into the universe and text appears, "AS YOU GAIN THE POWER TO EXPLORE IT FREELY & SWIFTLY', this time i'm cluelss.
Here comes the funniest part, the iSheeps, which shows a herd of sheep and the line, ‘…everyone else’.
The video ends with the Samsung logo and those very same blobs of metallic paint we saw in the invite. This definitely hints to the type of material used in the chassis of the S III or if not, at least the colours it will be available in. Sadly, at this moment, we don’t have any real clue about the phone itself and looking at how Samsung is hyping their next-gen Galaxy phone, I really doubt those leaked pictures are the real deal.
It appears as if Samsung is trying to throw us off the track here into thinking that the GT-I9300 is indeed the S III, which it isn’t (at least, that’s what we hope). Only a few days are left for Samsung’s Mobile Unpacked 2012 event which will take place on May 3, so see you then.
So we let us suprise. Wow !!

This may be our first real picture:
I still hope there will be more than one device revealed on May 3rd.
Three stones on the invitation card: one small, one medium, one large.
Could be a phone, a phablet (note) and a tablet

I voted "don't know" it depends on a number of factors, it will have to beat the SGSII in every department for it to outsell it, price too will be a factor, many countries are in deep recession and many people cannot afford the luxury of shelling out big money on a smartphone so i hope Samsung don't vastly overcharge, €599 is far too much this is the figure that was given on the Amazon German website

Bro Im using samsung galaxy s3 i9300 how do i enable bln control from play store app?
The flaw manifests as a milkiness to the glaze Samsung applies to the rear of the Galaxy S III, which it has said improves durability, reduces the likelihood of visible scratches and helps the handset feel more like a premium ceramic device in the hand. That “special hyper-glaze material” as Samsung referred to it doesn’t appear to have dried entirely clear, however, on top of the base color.

reading the article, the white is affected as well, just doesnt show a prominent milkiness since its white. yeah i'm definitely holding back till us variant arrive and comparing.

Is "samsung never being good on quality" the reason i never had to make any repairs on all of my families 8 samsung phones?

Whatever the reason might be... How is this possible after all those delays. Wasn't there a single person who noticed this while Samsung was pushing forward the launch date and later, after the launch date, in the period before actually shipping the thing.
I still believe they are trying to dump a batch of pre produced white units before releasing the flinstone blue version. I bet they made a big miscalculation and are confronted with a big preorder for the blue one.

Hi all,
Recently purchased an International S3 on a Vodafone UK contract.
I was surfing the internet last night and noticed a rather odd mark had appeared on the screen.
Think I might have to send it back as the mark will not disappear and is very noticable on a white background.
It also shows up on all the Red, Green and Blue screen tests in the service menu.
What do you think? The mark is on the bottom left edge!

Hi guys,
Sent this back to Samsung today. Got to be without the phone for a good 15 days sigh!
The company I got the phone with only offer 7 day return policy Great!!
Will be interesting to see if I get the same device back or if they replace it.

Its not as bad as it looks likes on the Pic.
The photo was taken with an iPhone 4 and the camera of the iPhone 4 has a lens which makes the center of the pic blueish.
Your screen looks a bit purple but every SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII has this.
I see no reason to return your phone.
But does anyone have an idea what that is? It doesn't look like screen burn...what could cause that?

I have no issue with the overall colour of the screen. However, I do have a problem with the horrible piss stained mark that has appeared on the bottom left of the screen!!
Excellent!! Got my phone back today after 8 days without it.
Samsung have apparently repaired it, however I cannot check because they did not send my battery back with the phone!
Nice one Samsung, very proffesional!
To top it off they said a new battery will be sent and should be there on mon/tue next week.
Great! Another week without my phone.
Knew I should of got the iPhone...
I've had my phone a little over a month now and I've never experienced that. I also heard that the led fatigue issue wasn't so dangerous on the S3 as it was on the Galaxy Nexus and previous sAMOLED screen devices.
i had some similiar screen problems so i changed my s3 three times and all of them had the same problem with the screen so i got my money back and now i am wating on the Note 2

Well, mine too.
Luckilly no cracks so far, but I'm curious if any appear.
On one side, I want to return it, and get a refund, OTOH the phone is everyhing I ever wanted, until a better one comes out.

Exactly my dilemma. I've seen enough reports of cracks to be convinced Sony cheaped out or did something wrong with this phone. But mine hasn't cracked yet and I actually like it a lot (other than terrible low light camera). I'm hesitant to reward companies when they skimp on something and then fail to acknowledge the problems they've created though which is why I'm considering a return even though I like it.
If reports start coming in of Sony fixing the cracks for free under warranty, then I'll be satisfied and keep it, I think.
