I'm trying to find a video I came across a while ago that explained really well how android multitasks. I want to show it to someone who [erroneously] insists on using a task killer. I've been searching all over, but have come up empty handed. Does anyone know where I can find it, or even know what I'm talking about...

I don't know of the video, but I have been streaming MLB at bat over 3g while playing final fantasy 7 all day. No hiccups, even when I get text messages and such during the game. just reply and keep going. The only time I have ever felt lag is while apps are installing.
Srsly, I'm blown away by how rushed and buggy this port seems. It's as if they did the minimum possible to get the thing to "run" on Android.
I've been playing Wordfeud for a long time, and I was excited about finally getting to play a Scrabble-ish game with my friends who have iPhones.
So far I have experienced:
Force closes,
Notifications that it's my turn when it's not,
No notifications when it is my turn,
Random letters showing up on the board that were never played but cannot be removed,
Scores changing randomly,
Games where neither player can play a turn,
Games where I see one score and my opponent sees another,
Having to view multiple ads before I can exit,
and More!
Srsly, wtf. I'm uninstalling this crap. Anyone else have similar problems?
yes all of these ...
A few months for a full iOS port with ads thrown in at the worst parts to make a statement. What did you expect from Zynga?
words with friends blows. seriously.
I get the force closes all the time, I noticed using dev tools that it runs almost constantly even though the person who I downloaded it to play with hasn't played in over a day(meaning I rarely open it). I get the stupid notifications when it isn't my turn.
Wordfeud is sooo much better, way to go zynga!
I had to revert to the old version after updating because every old game I finished and deleted showed back up on the current games list as me waiting for them to play. Then after reverting, it won't stop searching for an opponent. The worst part is its been searching for 2 days and still hasn't found one. So its eating my battery like a fat kid at a buffet. I wouldn't call it the laziest ios port ever though. How much could you really expect from an iPhone app on android? If you take the kid that eats his own boogers and put him in the gifted class, he won't exactly be rackin up the gold stars.

Other applications have made the move much more successfully, i.e. Angry Birds.
That sucks that its not working for u guys. I've been playing it a lot with no problems. At least u didn't pay for it.

When I updated, all of my finished games came back in the "not my turn" section, with no way to delete them. Really poorly done port, very irritated that they rushed this to market just to beat the iOS wordfeud. 20 bucks says the iOS wordfeud is flawless and sadly, nobody will notice because so many are switching to words with friends. I hope the World Wildlife Fund sues them like they did to the World Wrestling Federation for making a thing that can be abbreviated as "WWF."
Wordsmith free is much better, no force closes, and no freaking ads, which it's why I got rid of words with fiends.

What is words with friends? All I hear is people complaining about it.
game doesnt work for me. i don't even use ad free and the opening page has this ad that cannot be displayed so i cant click my games
I only got it because I have some iPhone friends who can't play Wordfued with me. worst part is I finally bought WordFued also, and don't touch it.
I wish WordFued would port to iOS.
ive been playing on my gingerbread Hero and it works perfectly. the only downside to this game is the frustration when u cant think of a word
i just wish there was a ios port all together lol. SO MANY APPS!
I played Words with Friends once right after it came out, and I haven't touched it since. I just got so angry at seeing ads BETWEEN EVERY TURN. Seriously, an ad every 5 turns would have been annoying enough, but EVERY TURN? I was going to try the newest update again, but after reading the comments here, I might just uninstall it.

Same here. This morning was the first time i got a force close..... Wordfued has ads too. Just press home after you play your turn, then you dont even notice the ads, on either app.
WordFeud > Words with Friends
Is this possible? Sometimes I just want a video to load and then play it all the way through a minute later because it may be lagging a bunch throughout the video.
Don't know but I get pissed at Sprint almost everytime I watch YouTube stuff on the phone. "premium data" my ass. All the sweet devices that are comming out with they should really invest in the network next.
If there is a way I would like to know as well

Loving this tablet so far, just don't know what else I should be doing with it. I feel like it's my myTouch 4G all over again, no idea what to. First thing I did was install Minecraft, but I want to know, what do you do with your Galaxy Tab? (Watching porn is not an acceptable answer)
I mostly use it for Netflix, YouTube, browsing, and gaming.

i got mine like, 2/3 hours ago ) i'm trying to test all the bits on this before flashing another rom on it (specially, because I haven't flashed a tablet ever) and i'm still trying to get KIES to work with this (though, i would only sync music, and i use doubletwist for that :d)
already rooted, gonna flash a ROM but I dont know what ROM to flash, all I really want is Cyanogenmod 9.
I only use it for Twitter | Facebook | Angrybirds nuffsaid'
If you use it for anything else , then idk .
oh and root it & add CWM & add a custom-rom .
Root it and add the ad-hoc wifi hack so you can tether to your droid.
As to what to do with it - ebooks. Isn't that what tablets were invented for? LOL
I got mine two-three days ago and first thing I did was root it, installed Overcome's ROM and then just messed with it a bit.
I usually tether my Galaxy S 4G, take my Tab everywhere I go & usually just browse the internet... Facebook, look on Engadget, games, and maybe some pr0n.
I'm starting to use it more than I use my phone, I lurve it. It's my life now!
Surfing and ebookreading. Watching tv shows and movies. Listening to music. Almost the same as on the sgs 1.

Apart from being connected to my inboxes and google reader, I found it great for "mobile" web-surfing with a bigger screen, e-books and pdf reading with repligo, note taking with writepad stylus and freenote.
I use it for my work.....marketing - photo and pdf presentations, keep marketing materials on them for my use, surf the net, read books via the Kindle reader app.
Mine has pretty much replaced my laptop, which is now consigned to mostly being a media server. The only thing I use mine for that hasn't been mentioned is Skype video calling and as a radio, I listen to shows on BBC iPlayer and TuneIn Radio.
I have mine running GalaxyTask 10.0 and I couldn't be happier. Absolutely amazing for a Honeycomb ROM.
Better than my HP Touchpad and all Gingerbread ROMs with the (equality) of Skyraider for the Thunderbolt phone.
Bedside book reader with Nook app (sideloading .epub), web browser, mail client, ski report viewer, Google Talk station, etc.

Running Galaxy Task as well and its a hell of a lot better than the stock ROM, if games could run smoothly then I would be perfectly happy with this tablet.
I do almost anything that I use my desktop/laptop for on my tab. GoToMyPC app connects me to my desktop at work for quick access to files or dropbox access to all my machines. I was like you when I first got mine...soon the question will be what do I NOT use the tab for!

I do almost everything except play MW3 and SWTOR on my tab. To the point I probably will go back to a blackberry because I don't use my phone for much, other than to settle arguments here and there with google.
I pretty much use mine for watching movies and web browsing. Netflix and VPlayer are my two movie apps
I know there are plenty of posts about this, kewl thing is that's ok.
Feel free to comment and specify.
I use my KFire for most of these, but mainly gaming. Currently obsessing on Words with Friends. Just finished Shadowgun. Good game.
I use mine as a tablet . Everything I can want electronically that cant be done on another device

Is it ironic that I use it to read about uses for it?

Porn... It streams like a champ.
i read books on it. I play games on it. occasionally browse the web. Pretty much exactly what it was designed for.
Reading, note taking, drawing, music consumption, photo editing, gaming.
I used to use it for reading books - and it appears that ever since I came across this site, I use it to flash roms
Got if for my little kid, great for streaming videos, my lap and phone will saty safe for a while...
I use it for Pornography.

porn really? Sorry screen is too small for me. Use my 50" lcd for that. Forgot to put reading as an option lol... guess that'll count as other. Just find reading a book on a tablet or e reader to take a lot away from the experience of reading a book for me. I need a book book. If we could get a fully fuctional rom out there that'd be great. Just seems all the ICS roms and misc other ones floating around have one or two major bugs still.

CM7 has been working flawlessly for me, I don't have any bugs at all with it.
wheres the "all of the above" option?
I bought mine with the intention of using it for school. A couple of the textbooks I needed were available in PDF form, and I actually saved money by buying a new gadget... win/win!
Realistically I've mostly been using it for development. I'm currently working on an app for tablets, and I don't have a tablet other than this one. I've also been trying to help out with the ICS development, and frankly this post is to help get me to the 10-post threshold so I can answer someone's question in a development thread (kind of silly if you ask me).
Web browsing, music, reading, planner, and some other stuff. Although I have to agree about the screen being too small for porn. Perhaps in an emergency situation...

Have you tried in portrait rather than in landscape?
For messing with Android. It's cheap enough that bricking it is really not an issue.
pretty useful in class to look at the powerpoint when I can't see the projector screen
