My charging screen gone!? - Atrix 4G General

Every time when I plug in my phone while it is off. It will start up ,normally it will go into the charging screen that show the battery level ,but I don't have that screen! It will stuck at DUAL CORE TECHNOLOGY page and stay their forever. I need to pull my battery out then turn on again and it will go into the OS.
What happened to my phone?

Have you flashed any ROMs such as GingerBlur or rooted it?

Yes I have flash GingerBlur and now I flash back to stock

do you (or did you) have CWM installed?

Yes, I used to have CWM Installed

Still waiting for answer

Install CWM again, open CWM and press the Charging mode button. That will allow you to charge the phone while its off and display the battery screen.

OH It's thats easy!
Thanks =)

[Q]Gets stuck while charging when powered off

Everything's normal when I try to charge with the system on.. But when I plug in the usb cable from the electricity slot, it shows up the battery which shows the percentage and a non-spinning refreshing circle in it. It doesn't spin at all. Waited 5+ minutes for the percentage to arrive. After I hard powerdown the device (holding down the power button for 6-7 seconds) I can still open it and use it without any problems. Recent error, restoring from my CWM backup right now.
Anyone had this before?
I still have it after the perfect restore. Really weird.
Edit: Wiped to factory. Still no luck.
Restoring back to my original settings now. Gonna try after then gonna go to sleep. Tomorrow going to try with the modaco rom.
For further use;
I installed my ROM from scratch with odin. Original recovery was installed, no cwm. The green battery showed with the original recovery. Rooted phone, installed a few apps and the green battery was still there. Installed CWM with eurotab bootstrapper. Green battery isnt there anymore.
Cost of CWM.

Odd usb connect issue

During my flash to CyanogenMod somehow my phone set itself to boot into cwm whenever the phone was connected to my computer. I should stipulate this only happens when the phone off. When plugging it in, while phone is on, no problem.

This has been a known issue with ClockworkMod. It did not happen when you flashed CM. The original battery charging screen was located in HTC recovery image and that is what was shown when you were charging your phone with it powered off (it never really is powered off; more like a hibernated state). Since ClockworkMod has now replaced the original HTC recovery, that battery charging screen is no longer available, so CWM displays its screen when you are charging the phone in a powered off state.

You say it's a known issue, is there a known fix?

There is nothing to fix. If you leave your phone on while it's charging it's not an issue, because the screen will turn off and a few minutes. If you power it off while it's charging, it will display the CWM screen. It's still charging, but the screen will stay on.
If you want the battery charging screen back, then you need to replace CWM with the stock HTC recovery image.

1) I'm not uninstalling cwm though, am I?
2) Never done this procedure, "replace CWM with the stock HTC recovery image", how would I do this?

1. Yes, you would be removing CWM and replacing it with the stock HTC recovery.
2. Run the original HTC RUU (ROM update utility) and reflash the phone back to stock.

Well, in other words, this is known behaviour for CWM and there is no fix. If you don't want it to happen, as tpbklake was trying to get across to you, either don't plug your phone in while it's off (i.e. charge while it's on) or go back to stock.
If you're looking to just flash a custom ROM then never mess with again, you could try using unrevoked to flash the stock recovery image. But as all of the other posters have said, if you want the useful recovery features of CWM there's no getting around the USB issue.
I looked into this awhile ago myself and picked up the stock recovery image, but never tried it out. (stock recovery image is attached)
I find it kinda funny how many people can turn off their phone and plug it in to charge and see a giant animated battery icon and somehow think that the phone is still completely off? That should be the dead give away that its on, in some state anyway. But enough goofin, like was said above, whether you're seeing that battery icon or seeing the cwm screen, the phone is charging and either way its not really off.

[Q] Emergency Phone Help*- Can't Flash ROM, Phone won't charge..

Hi, I just got an atrix two days ago and today tried flashing a ROM via CWM.
After following all of the original posts instructions correctly, the phone rebooted, and would not charge, or even boot into android D:
No red LED or error message, it would just sit at the booting screen.
Another strange thing, whenever I would plug the AC adapter into the phone, it would automatically boot, also mentioned by another person which flashed the ROM...

I tried using RSDlite but it says the battery is too low to flash. Same issue with Fastboot.
What should I do? I can't charge the phone, and whenever I connect it to my computer I get a solid Green LED.
Please help me D:
I'll be available via XDA PM, skype (danstheman7 is my username) and e-mail at [email protected]
Thank you in advance
**sorry if this is in the totally wrong section, i'm freaking out a bit right now and posted here incorrectly. my apologies.
You could try and get a battery charger for your battery. Ebay or amazon.
Also if your battery is really low sometimes it won't power on just buy plugging it into the wall or computer untill it has more then 10% charge. So if you plug it in and get a green light let it set a while it may be charging. Few hours should do the trick.
I am impatient so I used an old usb cable, cut the end off that would normally attach to a device, and stripped the wires that were red and black. On the back of your battery there is a positive and negative sign just attach the red to positive and the black to negative. Using tape I taped them down so they wouldnt move, plugged it in, and waited for a while for the battery to charge. Monitor the temperature of the battery to make sure it don't get hot. If it does unplug it, disconnect and order a battery charger. Something isnt right.
Once charged for a while put the battery back into the phone which allowed me to flash fastboot and RSD. Now make sure you have a full battery before doing this again.
I am not responsible for damage you inflict on yourself or phone. This can be dangerous. Electric shock, fires, exploding battery, etc may occur. Please try at your own risk. But this is what I did, ive learned my lesson to never flash on a low battery. Always charge fully.
You could also put the battery back in the phone and not have to wait for the battery to charge. Although you risk destroying your phone. And not just your battery.

Hi. Like you mentioned I had the same issue. I managed to fix it!
Go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009
Download .zip for your carrier (Att or international) and then enter to CWM Recovery:
Plug your mobile to wall charger and hold volume down button. Then press volume down until you see android recovery - press up and it will lunch CWM recovery (I'm assuming You have got CWM installed for unlocked and you have unlocked BL). Then wipe your data and simply apply zip that you have downloaded. This Solved my problem.
I don't what caused the problem but What i did was:
1. I have Unlocked BL using pudidng for international.
2. Flashed via fastboot system.img for 2.3.4 OrangeFR
3. Applied fix for RAM
4. Installed CWM for Unlocked
5. Nand Backup
6. Applied cherry blur in CWM
7. Applied RAM fix for 4.5.91
Up to this point - no problems. I restored all apps via titanium. I went to sleep and when I woke up this morning my mobile was off and I couldn't switch it on.
I have connected to the charger and then the mobile went on immediately. After few sec went off again and then on. I thought the battery is dead untill I've read this thread.
Things I can do ONLY while my mobile is connected to charger:
1. Enter fastboot - but I'v got msg that battery is to low to flash...
2. Enter CWM Recovery
3. Once I'm in CWM I can unplug from Charger and connect to PC.
3. ADB sees my device

Faced same issue - fixed
Hey there,
i faced the same issue couple of days back. My battey was completely drained. As soon as I connected my phone to ac charge, it would star and stuck at the Moto logo without charging the battery at all. I was able to rebot my phone to recovery, but none of the recovery zip worked for me. I was not able to use flashboot since always got the low battery warning.
Finally had to order the spare battery charger from Amazon and charge my battey to boot into flashboot and flash the HKTW image. Once i flashed to HKTW i was bale to apply the latest 4.5.91 zip using CWM. Hope this helps.
Thanks,
SK

Go to local AT&T and ask to leave your battery in a display for a few hours and come back and pick it up.

Thread # #9745 in the ROM's thread answers this question:
"Install safestrap, and run this rom from the stock slot. Find the option to use safestrap in the rom customizer app > power menu.
No more bootloop. I've rebooted to safestrap a few times. Usually after I've botched some theme stuff and want to clean the slate."
I'm quoting the user that had the issue, generally you can type your issue and it will show you where/who asked/answered it....
in your case, I just simply typed "bootloop"
Happy Flashing! :good:
sad face
Yeah I cant get to safestrap. It was booting to safestrap earlier but now only getting the bootloop. the samesung boot logo pops up and booting recovery in blue on the top left. It then shuts off then turns on and repeats.

[Solved] Cannot use battery power on recovery and system

So, here's my situation, my phone suddenly turned off last night while installing a game, when i tried to power it up, it "blinking" on the boot logo, it keeps turned on and off, so i reckon its battery has run out, so i charge it, then it works, it can boot to system, after it shows around 80% i unplugged the charger but the phone then suddenly turned off and again, blinking on the boot logo.. so i charge it again just to see it boot to system and shows 80% battery.. i tried to charge it to 100%, but at 100%, the phone suddenly died, again..
at first i thought it might be a battery problem, or power circuit thingy, but here's the catch, it can hold for 30 mins + on bootloader mode..
can someone tell me what is wrong with my phone?
EDIT: flashed stock ROM and Recovery, still no use
EDIT2: Did the QPST as suggested as Rwepradeep, still blinking on lenovo logo
EDIT3: Solved! Battery was the actual problem

okay so i did the qpst thing, it can hold on at download mode until it finished, then after that the phone reboots, and it happened again...
i don't get this phone, it works well on bootloader and download mode, but not so long at recovery.. not to mention i can't even boot into system (can't even past the boot logo lol)
Okay so, i took it to Lenovo Service Center, they told me something wrong with the battery, apparently it hold up on bootloader because the bootloader mode didn't took so much power, so even a broken battery should hold up a little.. Changed the battery, now it works well, thanks for all the help..
