Audio on video not working - Omnia 7 General

Hi All,
When i take video with my omnia 7, it tapes without any sound. Has anyone come across this problem.
Thanks

I've come across this problem myself. I was at Soundwave back in February and half my videos had no sound, but some DID. I couldn't explain it. So I tried to experiment with it at home and found that the videos had audio each time. Thinking it was just some sort of weird one off thing, I went and used to phone to record a video at Future Music. Again, some of the videos had audio, some didn't.
I thought maybe the problem was that the audio at the concert was too loud and the noise cancellation mic was thinking EVERYTHING was noise, so it was cancelling everything, so I tried experimenting with the video for a couple of days after that. Again, some had audio, but some didn't this time, even when the volume levels of the ambient noise was very quiet.
So, after looking into it some more, I read one theory that it has something to do with a bug in how the Omnia 7 disables the speaker when something is plugged in (possibly into the head phone jack? I don't remember). I haven't really been able to find confirmation of this, but I'm hoping that after updating the phone, the problem has gone away.
I'll come back and post my experience when I know for sure

Thanks Deemar,
I have exact same problem, however I have only ever had one recording that actually recorded sound as well.
All the others have no sound

anyone????

same problem too :/ but i noticed the mic stopped working in other apps too such as shazam - it seems to do this from time to time randomly! very weird and annoying! havent noticed since nodo thought?

I haven't had the opportunity to experiment much since NoDo. But the videos I HAVE recorded since then (a grand total of two) have had audio. Knock wood, the problem might be solved...

Speaker is blown???

Hi all,
Had my Touch HD for 24 hours and I noticed last night that I was getting a faint popping / hissing out of the speaker when playing back a song.
Long story short, I think the speaker in mine is stuffed. Can't play back anything, and it wasn't even at high volume. This is affecting ringtones, windows sounds, everything.
The 3.5mm jack sounds are fine. Just the little speaker next to the camera.
Anyone had anything like this happen?
Think it's going back for a replacement!
Cheers.
Nothing worse than being the only person to have a particular issue with a phone!
Just FYI in case this does crop up again, I tried cleaning around the area, microSD in/out, hard resetting, etc. Nothing worked. Was sort of hoping it was not really the speaker being dead but something else, but my speaker is officially screwed!
Back in the box with you, Touch HD. You're RMA'd.

[Q] Acer A500 speaker issue?

I have been trying to find any info about this issue all over the internet but havent had any luck. I really want to know whether this a problem with my device or if its justthat speakers themselves arent that great and i have to live with it. My speakers mostly when playing music with vocals rattle, i dont know how to explain the sound but its as if the case its self is shaking because of the volume. I am sure people have had this type of issue with speakers on laptops, desktops and so on. Should i return it and get a new one or is this an issue with all iconia A500's? I hope iwas able to explainthe sound well enough.rattling, case shivering sort (f.
Any info is appreciated, thanks guys.
I have just tried with couple rock and modern jazz and some dance music. If the volume is at the highest volume there is distortion but it doesn't feel like really really bad, just as if you are over driving a small speaker.
One thing you can try is, put the same music tracks that feels like blown speakers to a usb disk and go to a store that has a display model of the A500 that you can play with. Take your A500 with you so you can test both at the same time in the same environment.
Thanks for the reply, its not so bad but it can also get really annoying as it is the most thing an ear catches. I don't want to return my device only to get a new one that has the same issue. I will take my Acer and a USB stick and try out the same music at the store, if the display device has the same issue then I'll just have to live with it, if not then I'll be getting an exchange.
One solution for track problems
I have the same problem on certain recordings, i have found the same distortions of those tracks on several devices. After a bunch of reading i came across a solution that at least worked for my tracks. They were recorded in MP3 mode. Mp3 is not changed by using equalizers. You can adjust the loudness of the sound or like jazz-rock-etc... But if they are recorded with to much base or awkward settings in equalizer, those setting are stuck while in mp3. I converted those tracks back to cd format (wav) adjusted equalizer setting more moderate, then saved those tracks back to mp3. My distortions (am type sound, sounds like speaker is broke, etc...) disappeared. There may be other reasons for these distortions but my problem tracks are good now.
Thing is its not just music saved on my device, its also any video whether online or on my iconia. Everything I play has that annoying shivering noise. For speakers that are supposed to better than most tablets, if they are all like this then even though this is my favorite tablet I might have to go a different way if I were to return it.
My speakers don't have this issue, I would suggest exchanging it.
Thanks lord voldemort...lol, I will be doing that in the morning
I noticed a bit of rattle after turning up the Dolby bass settings too high.
After a little fiddling I found the "sweet spot" and haven't experienced it again.

so what's that sweet spot setting?
I've had the same problem with the speaker and gone to the service center to claim it. Acer service center said it was factory defect and repaired it. Although i still experience small problem with the sound, especially when i touch certain area near the speaker but so far...works just fine now.
So I went to Future shop to try out the Acer on display and its the same thing when the volume is turned up all the way so I just decided to keep mine.

i tried doing this tonight with the demo model Costco had on display. unfortunately i couldn't even get past the lockscreen. i wanted to see how well Metallica's 'Load' MP3 (VBR) album would sound.

[Q] Noise when using headphones

When I bought the device 2,5 months ago I had no issues at all, but a few weeks ago I started noticing a lot of white noise when listening to music through the headphone jack on my Note 4, especially the right headphone. I have the feeling the issue started when I updated to NK4, but I'm not sure, so I don't want to downgrade just yet, since I have a lot of app data and it's quite a hassle to make a back up.
I was wondering if anyone else experiences this issue. I know it's present on some Nexus 5 and LG G3 devices as well. I have taken it to the Samsung store and they tried with their headphones as well and the issue persists. It gets even worse when I'm in the car using an aux cable to my car radio. Every time I accelerate or decelerate I hear a howling noise. Also when I'm just using the phone, not listening to any audio at all, all system sounds and notification sounds turned off, I often hear a clicking sound. At first I thought the back cover was a bit loose and made this sound, but it's actually coming from the speaker.
The issue is present in several apps: Youtube, TuneIn, MP3 Player and Google Play Music.
Is there anyone else who experiences such issues, because I'd rather not bring my phone in for repairs, as here in Holland that might take 2 to 6 weeks? And does anyone know if it is a software or a hardware issue, if anyone has found that downgrading might be a fix, I'd be happy to try that.

[Question] Microphone Issues - Any ideas?

Hello everyone, I've checked the forums and I've not really seen many answers to this question as it's something that's been bugging me for a while now.
I don't know when it started, but I noticed recently after recording a video and playing back, the sound on one side is completely gone. Almost like Stereo mode has been disabled, I have determined that it is the microphone that is often used during Loudspeaker calls, I tested this by placing a call to a friend on a regular call, then a WhatsApp Call, and finally a Skype call - and each platform is having the same issue - my loudspeaker microphone is not picking up audio. Is there a fix for this? I took apart the device, cleaned thoroughly but I'm wondering if the microphone itself has become busted. If anyone has a similar issue, or has found a fix for this - could you please provide me with some information? I love my Note 3 and would love to start recording some videos again.
Thanks everyone!

First factory reset and check again. .if same it s material problem
I've Factory Reset about 10 times since this post, and attempted all kinds of different things. I can confirm that it is a definitely a hardware issue, could you recommend what to do so I can get this fixed? Again, my primary microphone works fine while making calls - it is only when I enable Loudspeaker that the other party is unable to hear me due to the "Top Microphone" on the device not working for some unknown reason. Again, I've attempted cleans, fixes etc - but the issue only occurs during loudspeaker calls and when recording video as the top microphone is used with the primary microphone for Stereo Recording.
I know the microphone still picks up some form of audio but at a very low level - as I have called a friend and enabled loudspeaker and continued on to blowing in the hole where the microphone is situated. They can hear the loud distortion created by the air, but not a voice or anything like that. I really have to shout (And I mean LOUD) if anything audio is to be picked up.

No audio at all, and other weirdness

Hello,
I recently got a Nexus 6P from a friend who took it for a thirty minute swim. He told me that if I could fix it, I could have it. After some work, I got it running at about 90%. The only issue is with audio. Absolutely no audio will play at all, unless its through Bluetooth. The headphone jack, and both speakers however, don't work. Whats weird is that apps behave strangely. Google Music skips songs endlessly. YouTube gives an odd error. The camera works. but when I switch to video, it says "cannot connect to camera". Audio recording gives a weird error. You get the idea
I've found other posts about similar issues, like this. https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/help/nexus-6p-audio-playback-error-app-t3476592 but his solution did not help.
It seems to me that the issue is somewhere in a loop between the camera, speakers, and microphones. The camera wouldn't affect most audio, so its not a likely cause. I have replaced the top speaker, but cannot find a 3.5mm jack replacement. I think the microphone is most likely the issue, but I'm not 100% sure.
If anyone has any ideas, I'm defiantly open to them, especially if you've ever worked on fixing one of these. I'd love to upgrade from my Nexus 6 (which I actually got from the same friend after he destroyed the screen on it...I'm looking forward to getting his Google Pixel once he breaks it next year  )
Thanks so much for any help!
Lucky the phone even turns on let alone apps not behaving properly lol. You could replace all the little components just plug and play. Might even fix the Google music issue but what's the point. Just a ticking time bomb once electronic gets submerged in water. ?

Not necessarily. If electricity had shorted something then the phone is pretty much screwed. It's been a few weeks since it happened and it's been running for about two with no new issues. The big issue with water is corrosion. But if it's cleaned off, the phone works like nothing ever happened.
Most of the components are on the main board, so unfortunately aren't able to be replaced, like the microphone. The ones that are, all seem to work just fine.
If I can get this issue figured out, the phone should work just fine!
No audio on Nexus 6p video record.

I had this problem and after searching I found a solution! Download Cinema FV-5 free or pro. From there you can go to settings---general and choose external mic, this immediately fixed my problem and audio no is crisp and clear. Do it's obviously a software issue in stock camera app. Love my Nexus 6p and am thrilled to shoot video with audio now.
I have the very same issue, but instead having my nexus 6p dived into water - I have had let know a akku change job from a "pro". Ever since I have no audio at all!
Even the same behavior with the video (camera) and the Google musik (keep skiping songs)....
Any ideas?

Sadly, I can't even run this app. It keeps no response.
