Ok so I have my Droid X, was running Apex 1.4, just flashed back to original. So now I have the stock phone, froyo 2.2, rooted with z4.
I cannot find to gingerbread zip file ANYWHERE, just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction? Thank you kindly.
There are several versions

My DroidX rooted 2.2 flyX rom won't flash anything now. I tried to flash the 2.3 keyboard and once I flashed it I couldn't get past the motorola boot logo. Also when I tried to restore my nandroid backup It wouldn't restore all the way. Can anybody help?
It could be because of FlyX. That ROM was like the first one for the DX and was released before the OTA FroYo. I would suggest SBFing and getting FroYo then trying one of the newer, supported ROMs.

Thanks for the information. Now if you could provide me with the information on how to back up all my apps and text messages and information and how to sbf and get me the file I would be very appreciative. Once again thank you.
A quick search on Google will provide you with everything you need.
Can you get Cyanogen for the Droid X?
I have a Droid 2 with 2.3.20. I am new to installing roms on my device. I downloaded one to try, and it specifically said that is was for devices with 2.3.320/340. I thought maybe I was imagining some kind of type or something. However, when I installed the rom, I got stuck in a bootloop and had to flash an sbf to restore my phone. My question is....is 2.3.20 different from 2.3.320/340? I definitely want to try out some different roms, but most of them say they are for 320 or 340 and I don't want to have to sbf again. If my version of 2.3.20 is different, how do I get 2.3.320/340? Thanks ahead for your help.
2.3.320/340 is the Droid X. A lot of devs build roms for the DX then port them to the D2. 2.3.20 should be fine for any current roms for the D2. I can verify that Fission, GummyJAR and Liberty will work with 2.3.20 as I've flashed them.

Also, to get to 2.3.340 should i sbf the system only file or will that mess stuff up?

+1 on the Droid3 root method. Took the OTA for 602 on my son's stock DroidX and then ran the update right after. No problems.
I used this.

I also used the droid 3 method....worked perfect...thx

You can root via the instructions above but to get on MIUI you must first SBF to 2.3.34 (Google for more instructions), then root via Z4root, install Droid 2 Bootstrapper, then flash the MIUI rom via ClockworkMod Recovery.
Good luck! =D

i have droid-x and i have flashed so many roms (offiical and pre-root) and CM7 amd MIUI etc...
right now i am currently on 4.5.602 pre-root (the zip files that are part 1 and part 2)
i have my phone setup pretty much how i want...uninstalled a ton of crap with root uninstaller....already made my nand backup.
just wondering what i do from here to get OTA .602 installed and rooted and then what about all my data/apps that i have setup?
thanks
When the Droid X first came out I rooted and haven't changed a thing since... I am running System Version.2.3.15.MB810.Verizon.en.US with Android Version 2.2 rubiX Focused 0.5
I was thinking that if I did an update, things would run quicker and smoother. Because I am rooted, I am not able to install the OTA to .340... Is starting from scratch the best thing to do in this case? Can I SPB to 2.3.340 if I'm currently running 2.3.15? If I unroot and try the OTA will I brick the phone? I'm not 100% sure where I should begin... Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
If I should have been in a different thread I apologize in advance...
First you should find out your bootloader version, then SBF to 2.3.15, and take the OTA.

Thanks infazzdar,
The bootloader is 30.01
Finding the right download is tough... any ideas?
It still might be in the TBH app if you bought it.
Wish there was a place that had all SBF files
I didnt...
I have gone cross-eyed looking through all the forums in regards to SBF-ing back to 2.3.15
If anyone could point me the the direction to the file I'm looking for you may be a lifesaver...

I have the 2.3.15 sbf file, but I believe that it is for bootloader version 30.03.

Found It, but thank you for getting back...
I found the file and sbf to 2.3.15, the did OTA to .340, then did another OTA to 4.5.605... I tried installing the DarkSlide Rom and it turns out I went to far... I prolly should have stuck with .340
I was just wondering is there any ROMS for the Droid x .621 I have tryed multiple ones from Rom Manager and I always get bricked. I cannot seem to find any one this site specifically for .621. Can anyone help me?
did you install d2 bootstrap first, and run it then update cwm with dx 2nd init from rom manager
edit: any gb rom should work on 621
