Can somebody post a build of cifs.ko and slow-work.ko for 4.1.83 update?
Thanks!
Edit: Forgot please
Edit: Ech, no need to rebuild, just different uname ... (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1064163)

I am using the Official T-Mobile Froyo 2.2.1 OTA Update.
Build Number: FRG83D
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-27237-gbe746fb
Note that the Kernel version is slightly different from the Official 2.2 Froyo OTA Update that was on Droid. (I think it was Droid... dunno.)
I was able to root my phone with that T-Mobile ROM using SuperOneClick 1.5.5 under Windows. I installed BusyBox using the APK in the Market.
Now I want to install OpenVPN. I have not been able to locate a download of the tun.ko or tap.ko modules for this kernel version.
- Can one of you crack developers post a link? All I really want is a binary.
- Barring an easy fix like that, can someone tell me how to find that exact, specific kernel tree? I am happy to try compiling it myself, but I don't know how to get the correct tree (so that the compiled .ko files will have matching kernel versions). Also, I don't know how to compile the kernel for Android. (If someone can point me to a HOWTO, plus the right kernel source, I will try it and upload the binaries if I am successful.)
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Too new to post in develop forum. Hope some dev will check here also.
As title, has someone cross-compiled nls_utf8.ko and tun.ko for 3.1 kernel?
Kernel - 2.6.36.3-00001-gf377a2b
Thx in advance.
I have searched high and low for a tun.ko module for a rooted Android 3.1 Motorola Xoom.
I have tried to load tun.ko modules from Android 3.0 releases without success.
I am getting "(Exec format error)" errors while using insmod.
Can someone help me here? I want to get OpenVPN working and have been unsuccessful so far.
Thanks,
Eric
I compiled the module for 3.1, you will find it here:

Hi Olli,
I tried this tun.ko for the Galaxy tab 10.1 - 3.1.
I still get "Exec format error". Is that suppose to work on my device?
Thanks a lot.
@yochaizv
Did you read my small info on the website?
Your kernel version *must* match the module version.
Otherwise the kernel refuses to load the module and
you get the format error.
My module was compiled for the Motorola xoom.
It's very likely that your kernel is different.

noob question what is tun.ko, and wwan?
Anyone have cifs.ko for 2.3.3 working?
Not until se publishes kernel sources. I'm waiting for tun.ko myself.
Hello All,
I found the cifs.ko for N8000 but it donĀ“t work on N8010.
If I load the modules in "Mount Manager" I get the error message "exitcode :255 stdout: stderr: insmod: ini_module'...'failed(Exec format error).
Do I have to wait for the N8010 Modules?
Thanks and regards
Poseidon
yep mate, you have to wait till someone will compile e.g. this module for a certain kernel like yours from the samsung sources.
Thanks,
is someone investigate that issue?
Im about to build a custom rom and therefore i compiled the 4.1.1 kernel with cifs.ko and md4.ko myself.
You can download it here: http://www.multiupload.nl/A32EW35HET
It is build with the Darkman Stock Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean XXBLK9 as a base http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1925720
I also changed the battery logo to a circle percentage one.
Its not ready yet, but cifs manager works fine. If you want to use it, you have to insert at path to cifs.ko "/lib/modules/md4.ko:/lib/modules/cifs.ko" and then it should work.
