I can't believe how light it is compared to the DHD. The screen is fabulous and the speaker is very very good

Great job dude. Galaxy s 2 is really amazing. i can't really wait to buy in USA.
Nice shots. Can you check if the screen of the sgs2 is the same width of lesser width than the desire hd. Im asking because the new htc phones, the sensation and evo 3d are using a screen that is slightly less wider but taller than the DHD. they are still called "4.3" but aspect ratio is slightly altered. Im wondering if the sgs 2 is using the newer screen ratio.
I think the desire hd is 16:10 and sensation is 16:9, giving a more "widescreen" appearence.
I was going to put pics of my SII vs HD2 pics on last night but got carried away playing with the new toy lol will try tear myself away from it for a mo and take a few.
Just wondering, how does this screen look under direct sunlight?? I can barely see sh#t on my Nexus One.

A couple of new pcitures have been leaked showing the htc pyramid aka the desire hd 2 , looks pretty nice i was pretty much sold until i saw it has 770 mb of ram , i like that the camera no longer sticks out ( less sctraches) and it looks thinner than the desire hd and i also think they dropped the unibody case kinda sad but at least the battery cover will be beasy to remove

indeed qHD screen would nice and also a BIGGER battery!
I hope the qHD screen will get higher refresh rate than 60hz... otherwise frame limiter will be also set to 60fps, and those shiny new dualcore will be really limited...
Uuh how I miss a simple way of opening the back of my DHD, the picture from this one here really give me new hope.

The hardware specs are WOW. But the design to me looks a bit feminine like that of samsung. What i mean is....the design is too much of curves on the phone. The top and bottom are also curved and not flat. I like the look of DHD which is VERY masculine hehe

I feel opposite, I much prefer DHD way of keeping minimum area of weak parts of the body making the overall feeling sturdy and cracklingless
Well, DHD by default is not that with it's weak mini covers, but they can be worked out.
Ok when I first bout my phone about 6 months ago or less...my screen was very bright. Now I am starting to notice vertical dark lines across my screen, and the screen is noticiby allot less brighter than before...my 2nd gen itouch has a brighter screen that will blind u compared to my phone. Ive been running on overstock kernel eversince it came out so it is not the kernel.. I think my screens pixels r dieng also the dark lines r not noticable unless u got one big bright plain background but this is bad quality control

With the amount of galaxy s phones produced I think this has been darn good quality control. And i bet your itouch doesnt produce the great blacks that our vibrants have. If you have only had it for 6 months then you still have 6 months warranty left so send it in and get it fixed.

Dont buy lcd
..super amoled so spd
Sorry but as fantastic as Super Amoled looks initially, it quickly fizzles out, and is prone to burn in.
check this thread out
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=799750
SuperAMOLED doesn't have burn-in, but rather serious image retention.. so if you leave a screen on it will leave a retained image but you can get rid of it by playing back lots of video or full screen games.
I haven't had any problems with my Super AMOLED display or my Vibrant in general besides the GPS antenna thing which in my account is a flaw of design and not poor quality control.
WOW really a 5.3 inch screen with Super AMOLED resolution of 1280x800!!! Wonder if it will come to Sprint (hope so)

I would still like a 5" phone...but with LTE and HSPA this is prolly a Verizon device, right guys?

Imagine though. You just use it with a bluetooth headset. Its big enough to really browse the web and do more data oriented things.
Pair it with a fold up keyboard and think of all you could do. It can be both the tablet and the phone. Get the best of everything to fit in your pocket.
I wouldn't want a 10" tablet anyway because its to big to really use with one hand.
Hope you carry around solar panels to power that thing..

Why would anyone prefer a 4" over 5" phone? That just views my mind... Think outside the box. A 5" phone wouldn't have to be any bigger than the epic. There a ton of wasted space on the epic fire the screen size.

Hey guys
I just got my 32GB Nexus 7 yesterday. Didn't buy it online, just in a local store.
Initial impressions are petty good. Only issue that I have is that I'm worried that the screen might be defective. I didn't notice anything off about it until I looked at it beside my Nexus S i9023 (SLCD not Amoled) and saw that the screen has a very warm (yellow) colors compared to the Nexus S which might have a too cold color temp.
Check out the picture below and tell me what what you think.

Is this normal or is the screen defective and I should return it ASAP?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
It's 100% normal. It's just because of different display matrix used in both devices. Nexus S uses SLCD (as you've mentioned) while N7 uses IPS (just like all the other Asus' tablets - check out the Transformer series)

OK that's good news. I saw quite a lot of threads here on xda where people were complaining about similar issues. It doesn't look bad to me, just different from what I'm used to.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
Yeah, it's somewhat uncomfortable for first week or so, but then you get used to it and it doesn't seem that bad.
I thought that there was something wrong with the display or my device (especially after coming from HTC Flyer with its bright display and pretty saturated colours) but it's simply a "downside" of an IPS matrix.

There's no yellowing really, at least not for me. It's just the color temperature (or maybe gamut, don't know the exact term) of the display.

yes,i think its very nice,rich colors,vivid.
Remember, the GS4 has RGB Mode, which makes white's much more natural.

tx for the answers .
It's so realistic! :cyclops:
It's gonna be an awesome display in every way. People who complain about PenTile don't have any reason to because the ultra high PPI cancels out everything. And if you don't like the default saturated colors, there's always Adobe RGB mode which is apparently better calibrated than HTC One.

Yeah you can still see them but you have to look a lot more closely, you wont notice it at a normal viewing position.

Don't quote me on this, but I recently read an article about calibrating the screen on the Note II. It described activating the Adobe RGB setting for realistic colors, etc, but the article went on to say that carriers removed this menu selection. Do you believe carriers will do the same for the S4?
I could be talking out of my arse, but I just recall this article. I can't locate it.
I know that AT&T GS3 didn't have the same screen mode selections like the International version did. Can't speak for the rest of the carriers though.
Which is why I'm hoping At&t retains this for the S4.
