Please help, I am desperate for wi fi
when using the wi fi on the exec i want to be able to jump on one of the access points at uni, so i select one and of it goes but never connects. how would i get it to forget about that one and try one of the other ones ? because everytime i go to uni it keeps trying to get on that same access point without giving me the option to choose one of the others. any advice would be helpfull. cheers
It should auto connect to any which are available. It might remember the old ones info but as long as thats not about it wont connect to it (although it might say its trying to).
Are all the access points at uni open and unencrypted? Do you have a log in screen once you'r on the LAN, or you not getting that far?
Seems there are lots of Wi-fi problems this weather....

dont know your location but I tried my exec at birmingham UNI, and had the same issue, it kept trying to connect and then i tried it with my other halfs xda mini s, as soon as i hit connect it asked me for a valid certificate- had a word with somebody who had it working on his laptop he told me i need to speak to IT as they need to get it enabled wasnt to sure what the IT guy did on his laptop but im assuming installd some kind of certification-
My exec on the other hand was buggerd came home and it wouldnt connect to my home wifi, even when i went into wifi manager- settings- and delted the uni wifi nework after a soft rest it wasstill there so had to fomat the whole thing.
My other half was told she just needs her normal login username and password, i assumed that it should let you connect and when you open a web page it defaults back to your UNI page so you can log in, but never got that far.
good luck.
-- dont think they will leave the uni wifi network unprotected-

Hi Friends,
I was playing with VPN to connect to the network, I tried with BlueFire Mobile VPN 2.7.5.706, also v2.3.0193 and VPN Mobile by Greenbow, nothing worked anyway...
I am using ATT Tilt aka Kaiser TyTN II, WM6
But meanwhile during this installing uninstalling configuring... my 'WiFi Settings' changed to 'Network Cards'... (see the attached screenshot)
Now it only shows the network cards... Its no more detecting the Wireless, or connecting...
I spent whole day trying to figure it out... no luck... any experts.. please advise me how to restore back...
I hard booted... and installed the Odyssey Client... then I realized... that 'WiFi Settings' Changed to 'Netwok Cards'... and I couldnt connect to wifi after that... any solutions?....
I have been having this problem since one year ago and nobody seems to be able to help me too. I just take it that I bought a device without WIFI.
Screenshot of the problem.
When I click on the 'Network Cards'...
... it should look like this normally
Disappearing 'Configure Wireless Network' tab.
Hi all, Searching all over for answers. Appreciate your help very much, not to be long-winded, but trying to be detailed. I've posted this message on other forums with no replies. Looking like not a common problem.
My phone Samsung Omnia SCH-i910, has the Verizon GPS unlocked ROM i910.10 V.CF03.2096 (WM6.1 Pro), don't think it's an issue here. My trouble is after using WiFi, will not work with cellular data. (Does not always happen, but seems to be related). Will "connect", but cannot download email, and cannot display web pages. After spending a hour on phone with Verizon support last week, went through 3 reps, finally resorting to hard reset cleared it up. Been working fine since today when try to connect wireless again. Another issue that may be related, I have a Linksys WRE54G range expander at home, which has been working great. The access point/router is at business 800 feet away with a parabolic antenna pointing at house.
For some reason mobile devices have trouble with it, as did an LG LRM-519 that I've since given up. PC clients have no trouble at all, get "5 bars" anywhere at home, but Omnia (or old iPaq H2215) will not connect through range expander. I believe trying messes up Omnia will not communicate over cellular afterwards (without hard reset). Earlier this week close to AP, no trouble switching from WiFi to cellular and back again. At home Omnia will connect to WiFi, but signal is weak, and useless as far as email and internet. I know if I get closer to router/AP will be able to connect and download/upload fine. But EVDO data still not working, reviewed all the settings again, deleted the wireless network settings, soft resets, *228 programming, changed around "My ISP", "Work", and "Connects to Internet" settings. Not sure about "Hidden Network" checkbox, thought at one time might have connected through range expander at home with 5 bars on Omnia with box checked on, but was not consistant. What does this setting mean?
I know a hard reset will fix the issue, until next time. Like to find the real answer to avoid again having to get it back to where I like.
"Next time" is here again, searching for the true answer before having to hard reset.
Thanks for your time and help.....
Hi. I have a problem with wi fi on my htc touch2. Yesterday everything was working perfectly, but today, when I tried to connect to my home wi fi network, it didn't recognized it! I have wm 6.5 official ROM for Europe and I didn't change anything on device, nor installed new programs. I tried hard reset and it didn't work. My device can see all other networks except mine. Please, help! Thank you in advance. PS I have laptop and htc 3600 , both are recognizing my wirelles network and working without problems.
is your router broadcasting the sid?
yes it does. I can't understand why my other htc is working and recognizing the wirelles network? I'll try to reset my router...
pfff hard reset is serious stuff......
Yep, would reset the router......sometimes there are so many wireless connection points that particular device is listed on 2nd page......but since it will have strongest signal should be listed on top spot.....
If not works install wifi monster.....to see if another piece of software "sees" the router....if not it is a case of HTC service....

Thank you. Resetting the router did the job. Now it works.
