BT serial adapter - Galaxy Tab General

I thought someone posted about a Bluetooth Serial Adapter and some terminal emulators that will allow the galaxy tab to send/receive data on a rs-232 serial line. Does anyone have this info?

Mac folks: here's your chance to help a fellow Mac user...

I was reminded that I closed a thread because of fear of OS-wars, thus robbing the original poster of an opportunity to get an answer. Here's another try....
(I know that the XDA2 offers the Wireless Modem via serial cable, IR, USB and Bluetooth, but have no clue of Mac settings...)

Hey folks. I run a Mac Powerbook with OS X. One of the things I love about my Treo is the fact that I can use it as a wireless modem over USB. I see that this isn't possible with the XDA, and since I don't have a serial or IR port, I wouldn't be able to use the serial cable solution. I've read that you can use bluetooth on some phones to establish a wireless modem connection - do you think this might be a possibility with the XDA II? If not, will a USB/serial adapter let me make a connection via serial cable (and if so, anyone know the Mac settings to make it happen?)?
Thanks a bunch! I'm in an agony of indecision as to which phone to buy, but am leaning towards the XDA II (if I can get a lower price than $850!). This is one of the most important factor in my decision!

What about BT connection ? Or http://www.pocketmac.net/ ?
Hey, just got my XDA II, coming from a P900 as my main phone. I love the XDA II but DEARLY miss the connectivity with the P900. Anyone have any updates on using the XDA II as a modem in OSX?

Magician/XDA O2 mini to port to RS-232...Help

Anyone out there has connected their O2mini to a RS-232 device?
I heard there is a Bluetooth device to connect to RS-232...is that true... ?
Please Advice...
Cheers.
no problem
since the serial port profile is one of the oldest and well supported bluetooth-profiles its really no problem. search for an bluetooth rs-232 adapter in ebay or in google or whatever......
i have already done this before.
it's only a question of the bitrate and other constraints you have.....

Bluetooth serial Baud rate XDA Mini S For AT-Commands

Hi,
I am having problem in executing AT commands on my XDA.
Here is what I did:
1. I connected my XDA with the bluetooth on the Computer, which gave me COM8 to communicate.
2. On Hyperterminal I connected to COM8 and send "AT+Enter" gives me nothing (should give me OK, I supppose).
3. I tried several baud rates, but in-vain.
Anybody could help? Really appreciate.
please ask questions in the Questions & Answers section of the forum
thanks

[Q] Attach an External Keyboard to NOOKcolor

Has anybody made this work already?
I want to use NOOKcolor as a writing device as well as a reading device. Among other things, that means attaching a keyboard.
The NOOKcolor doesn't have an internal Bluetooth radio, so it looks like the mini-usb port is the last resort. I see two options (correct me if I'm wrong here):
Attach a Bluetooth adapter to the mini-usb port via adapter, get the bluetooth keyboard drivers to work
Attach a regular usb keyboard to the mini-usb port via adapter, get the regular keyboard drivers to work.
Pokey9000 says it looks like NOOKcolor has hardware components that support USB On-The-Go protocol (enabling a slave device like NOOKcolor to act a host device for a peripheral like a keyboard):

In my digging through datasheets, it seems both the CPU and the PMIC chips used in the Nook Color support USB OTG, but it depends on how B&N wired them up. Time will tell if it actually works.

Has anybody had any luck verifying NOOKcolor's hardware setup supports USB On-The-Go mode? Any success getting a keyboard hooked up and working?
I'm still holding out for the Ti OMAP 3621 chipset to have the BT enabled in the future, though I'll be using it for a BT GPS dongle and wireless headset. Devs will be working on it soon, after a tear down is done on a development unit.
I don't have URL posting status yet, but here is a text list of what I've been able to find:
GigaOm-dot-com posted a good compilation article on attaching a keyboard to your Android phone, including links to hacking your own dongle. Search:
"How To Add a USB Keyboard to an Android Phone"
langtoninfo-dot-com has a usb to mini-usb dongle. I haven't verified it'll work. Search:
"OTG Cable Adapter Mini USB A-plug - USB A-Socket".
I would like to somehow connect a gamepad to the nookcolor.
cyanogenmod 6 (cm6) ?
Newbie question: I've seen a post elsewhere hoping that "cm6" will make bluetooth devices possible.

I think lots of folks are waiting for CM6 which might unlock the NC bluetooth stack offering mouse, wiimote, and keyboard goodness with it.

Are we talking cyanogen-mod 6, which launched Dec 6?
What help does this provide Nook Color?

Cyanogen develops highly-praised custom ROMs on a variety of android devices. There's a donation thread, hoping to convince their team to develop for the NookColor. There's hope that someone can unlock bluetooth capabilities on the NookColor, and when people need something like that done, they often think of a cyanogen ROM as being the answer.

The irony...
The irony is, I'm in kind of a guilty place right now, so the necro-sequitur did make me feel a little bad about being dickish on the internet. Even attacking with pure stupid, sometimes you roll a 20.

[Q] Bluetooth or not bluetooth ?

I've seen some thread on various websites saying that the nook simple touch had bluetooth, or might have once hacked or what ever.
I'm asking here if anyone managed to get bluetooth working (and to successfully connect something to the nook with bluetooth ?)
Thanks
No Bluetooth.
The confusion arose over the exact model of the Jorjin WG7310 module.
We have the WG7310-2A, that's WiFi without Bluetooth.
You could hack in a Bluetooth serial interface to one of the UARTs.
That's one of the things that I've been wanting to try.

Hi Renate,
I thought about attaching a HC05 to ttyS1 - do you think that would be supported by the kernel?
Cheers,
Peter
It should work fine.
There is only TXD & RXD, no handshaking.
