I think thanks should be reserved for people you want to thank, not for "fun".

Dave
Thanks, foxmeister, for saying what everyone else was probably thinking.
Just having a larf, and to see what would happen...
Not about does this thread deserve a thanks, but what would iconions do.

The problem is that the "thanks" count for a user should be an indication of how genuinely helpful someone is, and is a much better indicator of how a poster is respected than a post count (which means nothing).
Just some friendly advice, but whilst it may not have been your intention, this comes over as some sort of reverse "post whoring" in order to gain "thanks" rather than anything actually humourous - a poll would have been a better way to express your desire here!
Regards,
Dave
lol oh dear, yeah i think u r right.
Judging by the number of views and posted replies.
Anyway the test still worked, now we know

I don't think it's available outside the US at this stage. It's certainly not available in Australia.
Just a thought but has anyone tried Market Enabler to get access to the US Market for Google Books?
Doesn't work - I've already tried that

File Station for tablets
Another file manager that I find really great is File Station for tablets. It supports drag and drop which is a nice addition.
Market link here.
Dual File Manager
I found Dual file Manager , give you 2 tabs that you can move / copy between with a simple menu command. I found moving more than one file from the USB/SD card alot easier on this than any other. The big screen makes this app work....
Link to Market.. https://market.android.com/details?id=it.medieval.dualfm&feature=search_result
I tried File Manager Hd. Really great but I couldn't install an apk with it ;(
Could you tell me if another file manage optimised fo the tablets has got this fonctionnality ....
Thanks a lot !
PS : Sorry for my english ! I'm a poor french xda lover !

I've tried a few and I keep going back to ES File Explorer - the bookmark IP/Networked folders and drives is especially nice - not having to rescan or log into those computers all the time.
Ghost commander no doubt both for mobile phones & tablets.
It also has support for usb sticks.

Wifi is on its way they say, in the mean time file expert (includes network, streaming, su) does all that stuff for me.
HD for normally access/organisation on tablet, file expert for the rest easy

I emailed the developer about the app lacking network share funtionality and he just replied saying that the new version on the market has this built in now. I just tried it and works like a charm. It is very easy to map shares and is really fast. This could end up becoming the standard file app out there for tablets.
It definitely has the LAN capability now but it's slow as molassas.

Really??? It is seriouly fast on my home LAN. As soon as you touch the shortcut to your share it's there on the screen almost instantly.

Yeah it takes about ten seconds to load the server then hangs when I attempt to connect to a folder. Works fine on my ES explorer.

Hi everyone,
Which would be the best (most stable for daily use) ROM+Kernel combination?
From what I've read, I'm favoring Virtuous Picasso+UnityV3. If I apply it from a fresh install (factory wipe, dalvik, cache), will the issues (wifi dhcp, gps) appear?
Thanks and great work to the devs!
I use Virtuous Picasso with Thor's kernel, but good luck finding it. It's very stable and I have not had a single reboot yet. I have not tried too many kernels yet either. Reason, why switch if it works great.
For me, it is the Virtuous Picasso 1.0.8 ASUS Rom + thor's 1.1 beta2 kernel. Smooth, fast, worry free...
One big plus is that the ExternalSD is accessible when connected to PC!
taboonay for incremental update
honeyvillain for be close as real acer

No, no, no, you got it all wrong.
The phase before phase "???" is to collect underpants: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBiSI6OdqvA
How about VP 1.0.8 with Unity?
+1 for thor's kernel with galaxy ROM. The kernel is the best part, not a single reboot or issue since switching to it

Love it lol. Asus 1.0.8 and thor v1.1 beta 2 for me right now also galaxy 1.0.2 with thor v1.1 beta2 for that rom. Better overall in each especially on 1080p video playback. His kernel wipes the floor with that bourne ultimatum hd trailer lol

Right, I've rooted my Acer a while back and installed CWM (Clock Work Mod for those who don't know) an wondered what is one of the best ROMs out there for it?
Just want the ROM to work with no bugs and has the possible ability to overclock (only a but though) plus that has some of its bloatware removed. Any Ideas? Greatly appreciate any good comments
You have an A500 or an A501?
For A500 / A501 Taboonay, 2.0 or 2.2 The Ginger stuff is ok also. Lightspeed is ok also, but you have to run the patch.
For a little less cooked, try Harkon or Ice. But for Ice, I recommend the thor 3.9R3 Kernel. And for Harkon
Thors kernels are the best.
Thor. Stable, fast and overclockable. Simply the best Rom out there right now for the A500.
I have tried Taboony, ran Lightspeed from 1.0.1 - 1.0.7 and although it is a GREAT clean ROM I have been using Thor's 14.2 and it is Amazing! I think Thor is a tad above Lightspeed right now. Make sure u get the flashable file to make it more Acer instead of ASUS if you want to use your Gameloft games.
+1 Thor's ROM v14. 2
+1, Thor's ROM v14.2 !
Another +1 for Thor's rom. Installed V12 a few weeks ago, and then V13 came out. Being a beginner, I was unsure if I wanted to upgrade and deal w/ possible user error issues, but the update to V14.2 was fool-proof.
Ok, I've seen many people here talking about Thor with pleasure... I am thinking about rooting my device, but, what I have to do exactly to keep my Gameloft games working?
9mm I believe is Gameloft, and it ran fine.

Ok, not trying to hijack the thread. I just ordered an a500 from best buy for $219. I have rooted my evo and a flytouch 3 before so i know it has it's advantages. In a nut shell what does thor do over acer's default scenario? IF there is a sticky or link that answers that i'll take it.
Thanks
Another thor 14.2
I have tried them all and thors 14.2 kicks ass, love it and have had no problems.
ok, now ics has been released, can we get a overclocked kernel?
hc could overclock and played hd files smoothly. ics still jumpy until overclock.
thanks to you all people on xda, you are the best
I have posted the same question. Have not gotten any replies yet.
Bump
??
I think we need to wait until Acer drops the ICS kernel source. Until then, he who must not be mentioned's ICS rom can overclock both the GPU and CPU and it works quite well. Can't mention it on XDA though...do a search for tegraowners A500 rom and you'll get your answer...
