I know it's still a new venture, but I'm dying to ask... Has anyone been able to enable bootsound on the gingerbread leak rom for the MyTouch 4G? Help is greatly appreciated....
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
I don't know what leak you are referring to exactly, but I know a gingerbread sense ROM was leaked...and some pieces of what I thought was 2.3.4 (but I could be wrong). Either way, I just used bootsnd today. I am running CM7.02.
I just used the method in the thread below. It runs a bash script to turn bootsnd on.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12784157
After doing this I moved an android_audio.mp3 to /system/media/ and it worked fine.....
This method didn't work for me... Maybe I should have been a little more descriptive... The rom I am using was made from the leaked gingerbread test keys system dump for the mytouch 4G... Again, its still a new venture, but I just had to ask... Hoping someone has had better luck than I...

I'm having trouble finding - is there a "pure as possible", pre-rooted only, repack of the Panache ROM for custom recovery? Over at HoFo there are some Mobilicity users who bought an MT4G because it's cheaper, and they want the same experience as the Panache. I figured the best way for them is to get Radio S-OFF on the MT4G first, and then flash the Panache ROM from custom recovery.

Seems like that one has still been tinkered with, and includes apps not very useful to CDNs like Netflix, T-Mo Wifi calling. Is there just a pure repack with as close as possible to NO mods at all except pre-root?
So your looking for unbranded sense? RoyalPanache is as close as you'll get. If your that picky you can just go in and delete the apks from the system/app or data/app directory. Not trying to be a douche or anything just don't really feel like elaborating haha

I'm looking for a repacked version that is 100% the same as the Panache RUU, except it's an update.zip instead of a RUU. I don't see any technical reason why that should be impossible, but it could be that nobody has thought to make it yet.

I have a myTouch 4g and I've flashed the rom HoneySense Six;
I am absolutely loving this rom;
but my only problem is, I do not have wifi calling with this rom, and with the location i am at, I absolutely need it.
my efforts:
I seem to find wifi calling solutions for other phones that do not work with this phone;
I noticed that the author of the rom stated that it is an add-on but cannot seem to locate how I can get it on the phone.
could someone point me towards where I can put wifi calling on my phone? please?

Does anyone know for sure if I can flash the gingerbread update pd15img.zip even though I'm rooted by gfree with the eng hboot?
I can't get the unroot method to work, that's why i'm asking.

You can't flash a PD15IMG.zip RUU in recovery. It's only flashable in the bootloader.
Please don't post advice if you don't know what you're talking about.

bmakk2055 posted incorrect information, so I posted the correct info for the benefit of you or anyone else who might come across this thread. Take a chill pill, bud.
Either way, neither of you have answered the question, so I don't care. You could've kept that comment to yourself and so could he cause he obviously doesn't know a thing about what I'm talking about.
To others who view this, please don't post unless you know the answer. Thanks.

It wasn't a random "comment". XDA is a database like all forums, so even if you already knew the answer yourself, it's important to correct misinformation for anyone who may come across this thread in the future.
Not cool of you to get mad at him when he's just trying to help you.
That kind of an attitude will just deter people away from even wanting to help you out.
Just sayin'.
To answer your OP, why not use the Froyo PD15IMG.zip? Are you trying to unroot your phone?
Using the GB PD15IMG.zip probably wouldn't be the best idea even if it worked. Because if it worked then you're stuck at GB which can't be rooted ATM.

I want the update though. And last time I did the froyo zip while perm rooted with gfree and stock hboot, it bricked the phone. I'm trying to collect all the info first cause apparently I want supposed to do that unless I have eng hboot.

Then why not just flash the update? There's like 3 flashable versions out there in the developmental section.
I flashed it last night, not that great. Don't know how you could choose that over Virtual Unity's Sense 3.0, but I guess to each their own.

I have the 'bad' chip and I'm trying to lose root just in case something happens, I also want the update cause froyo was glitchy and I'm starting to have tiny but irritating issues with unity, like wifi calling and my home screen disappearing.

is there any way to root mytouch 4g 2.3.4
would i have to downgrade to 2.2.1?
yes, downgrade to 2.2.1, root, flash the rom of your choice
you have to downgrade at the moment.If you to to the development section for our phone, then look for resource Bible. In the guide section, there's 2 threads on how to downgrade your phone to 2.2.1 . Once that is done you can either root with gfree or root.sh.
From my fist to your face, enjoy.
You can do the above mentioned.. or just wait. There are ppl working on a straight method.

If you have s=off already all you need to do is flash a recovery image, then backup/wipe/flash the ROM of your choice.

This can help if you need to root. With s off

Hey guys. I've been googling and looking through /system/etc folders for a few hours, trying to add init.d to the stock GB ROM I'm cooking for my wife. I can't seem to find a tutorial for our phone. Can someone drop a link for me?
I'm using the unity v10 beta kernel. I'm assuming it supports init.d, but I may be wrong. Should I switch to Darkside v7?
She is still on Froyo. Ugh. I'm trying to upgrade her in style AND learn a few things.
Thanks.

ROM kitchen gives an option to add that while cooking. I selected it for my debloated stock rom that I posted.
