in what level of temperature xperia x8 counted as normal?my xperia x8 mostly at 30-34C. is it too high?
your body is 37°C, if you put the phone in your pocket is normal
Mine atm is 21C with oveclocked cpu @748Mhz. If I play games temperature goes up to 35.
but even i now in air cond room..still 32C..what to do?
I think it just well unless than 40c
mine is aproximately 25
Running on MiniCM RC2. normal at 33 but when I Play games it goes up to 36 - 40
The mine its normal...
Sorry for my English
thats not too high.dont worry
use cm7 nightly temp increase 3-5 celcius, but when i use floyo its stayed under 35..
Most of popular µCs may be heated up to 90°C (and even more). Assuming that the CPU of X8 isn't so much heat-resistant there's still a huge overheat margin. So don't worry =)
My OC to 710 Xperia is running around 33°C, but if you're playing alot the temperature may drastically raise.

Hello
Normally my phone runs at approx 30-32 degree Celcius. Today I installed LauncherPro and my phone now runs at 35 degree Celcius. I live in India and the temperature overall is hot.
What temperature does your phone run at normally and what is considered a safe temperature?
27-32
Sent from my GT-I5800 using Tapatalk
note that the temperature sensor is the battery's one, not cpu.
so, for example, when charging battery it becomes warmer.
Yeah i am speaking about the battery temperature only.
Any chance that launcher pro increased my temp?
I don't have this kind of problem with fugumod 2.4 bet3 @980Mhz ... so i think you have an other app running witch is using your cpu.
I alwayz hav 35-38 c....me too in India and using launcher pro:-D

so is it safe to have the phone running around 35 degree celcius?
clarkkov said:
It's safe to tun at up to 80 celsius. Normal temp should be about 5 to 10 percent higher than the temp of the area where the phone is being used.
This is a battery temp not CPU. Batery should withstand temps higher than 100 c. Of course, battery and other electronic appliances will have their lifespan proportional to the temp they operate on.
LP is not the culprit of higher temp, you must be using another app along with LP.

I do realise that this is the battery temp but it makes my entire phone hot. So i just wanna make sure that other components wont be damaged

The components could be damaged in a long run if your temps are constantly over 30 to 35c. If you are using a custom ROM or Fugumod kernel with overclock I advise you revert to stock xxjpm.

there is no chance the to run constantly over 30 even with overclock kernel it is normal temp for devices from 20 to 35 depending of air temp so don't worry, and i'm using LP almost since i bought this phone and i can ensure you that LP is not reason for increasing the temp
the temperature in my place right now is 42 degree celcius
i guess thats why the phone might be at that temp
i was having a problem when playing hd games .... the device got very hot and the battery temp reaches about 45
finally i solved this problem using tegrak to set cpu speed to 200 min : 800 max
no heat any more
but i need to ask is it safe to change it in games only and return it normal (1200 mhz) all times and return it back to 800 when playing games ??
Shouldn't be a problem doing that, the game might Not be as smooth or whatever though. 45 is not too high by the way, it's just scary because you can actually feel the heat on this phone more than others...

but it is a great feelings that ur phone is still cool after one hour of playing
and the game still smooth as usual no any difference
and now i m running stability test it reached 46 minutes and nothing wrong
but my Q is if i returned it to normal after gaming and return it again to 800 when playing games is there any problem or what ..... i just notice very slight difference in loading but not in performing so i dont want this difference in loading i want to use the full power of the device without heat
Jeez pal, you underclocked the CPU because temp was 45°C! What was the problem if it were 50/52 or even 55°C? Playing game is a CPU intensive task, so the phone will be hot than any other things (benchmarking included) and that is very NORMAL.
Regards.

i knwo it is normal but it is very annoying
the battery temp is 45 and may be more "48 or even 50 " and the processor temp is more for sure and the phone is very hot as it is very thin and i know it is normal but it is annoying to me and to others so i think this is a slotion for this problem
but my Q is if i returned it to normal after gaming and return it again to 800 when playing games is there any problem or what

By the way guys if u have KH3 stock rom then u have the option to under clock ur device by default
Haha very nice & neat option to save battery life & cool down the handset.
It cap the cpu on 800 mhz, I addition to under clicking the gpu as well (which kernels don't do)

u do this all the time "800 mhz" or when gaming only ?? as i prefer to leave it 1200 mhz all the time and only while games and intensive use as gps underclock to 800 te decrease heat and battery use
but need 1200 mhz performance in normal processing to perform faster

I only untick this box when I fancy:
1- rapidly discharging (battery calibration thing)
2- Showing off the amazing speed of this wonderful device
Otherwise 800 would do every other simple task like ( calling, email, games, browsing...etc)

That option does halve the GPU/graphics frame rate from 60 to 30 though, which may not be what you want in a graphics based game.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
no harm in lowering the clock speed, the game just won't run as smoothly. the temps of this phone do feel alarmingly high due to the (lack of) thickness.
if it runs fine at 800mhz thats good. undervolt it too and enjoy gaming just that little bit longer

thats not really
if u tried to put it on max 800 mhz and tried benchmark u will find that the frame rate that are shown on the corner of screen during benchmark test reaches 60 and more than 60 and the lowest number shown was 50 or 48 and the total score is about 2700
if u remember the galaxy 1 or hts dhd never reached this score only if overlocked and these devices was playing games well with single core processors 1 ghz
so a dual core with 800 mhz with a 4 cores in gpu ....... powerfull result

I am not talking about setCPU here, I am talking about that Samsung "System power save" mode that KH3 has as an option. It definitely halves the gpu rate.
Running quadrant with that option off sees 60 frames/sec, running it with that option enabled sees only 30 frames/sec and if you look at the help/tips for that option you can see what it does (well, they don't give much away about what it does mind u).
Geez....
I have a car that does 150MPH. Is it safe to do only 60MPH?
It does get less hot and uses less power.
DUH
How to tweak this kernel for stopping G2 from overheating? Even I lowered my CPU to 1ghz it is still overheating. :crying: please help. thanks
Hi,
What is exactly overheating for you???
Can you share your CPU/battery temperatures?
Overheating... But when? When playing a game while downloading a huge file over 4G and while charging?
viking37 said:
Hi,
Guys you realize that you have a quadcore at 2.26 Ghz... And when you play a (heavy) game or some other heavy tasks (browsing in 4G for example) it's normal that the CPU heats, right?
Temperature is very subjective without reading the CPU temp with an app, it feels hot in your hand (you can have cold hands and in this case you feel much more the heat) and it's hot because the CPU temp is about 90°C is different...
Heat and overheat (or "maximum overheating" like above ) is different too..., in any case there is a thermal throttling that prevent overheating. Our CPU shutdowns at 120°C so there is a little room... Even 80°C is nothing for the CPU...
Even 90°C for the CPU temperature is almost nothing (for the the stressed people) and there is a thermal protection in any case. Thermal throttling that reduces the CPU freq according to the CPU temp, same thing for the battery. And in case of extreme temperature -> shutdown.
And if you speak about "overheating" when playing a game or browsing while charging your phone...
Check your CPU temp with an app and report here...
It remembers me all the threads about "overheating" in the Nexus 4 forum...

After that you can try to undervolt a little (be carefull, step by step and don't set your undervolt at boot unless you're sure it's stable) and play with the thermal control by decreasing the max CPU temperature before thermal throttling...
You can use an app like Trickster Mod or Faux123 app (kernel enhancement) on the Play Store.

After playing heavy games, I can use my phone to iron clothes. lol. Well, I know it have quad core that's why I bought it. And I think having this kind of power is a disadvantage too because it heats very quickly like 10mins of heavy gaming.. And by heating it decreases the battery life.. I don't want to use this quad core phone in just browsing and watching video only, i bought this for gaming also.. lol
I don't know now where to use these quad cores.. lol... I envy my brother now, playing games smoothly on his ip5s with cool temp.. >.<
I have fauxclock and leave it to Intellithermal frequency throttle temp:80c and core throttle temp 85c. Is that ok?
Thanks :cyclops:
Re,
Hummm.....
Decrease the two temperatures of 10°C... And use Ondemand or Interactive governor with MpDesicion "on"...
Try undervolt/underclock a little... No need to underclock at 1 Ghz otherwise, right, it will lag...
But I don't think you really understand what I was trying to say... Heavy games+quadcore 2,26 Ghz+10 mins of use with that...= heat (and not overheating), are you sure there is something wrong or abnormal?
What is your CPU/battery temperatures???
And please don't compare our CPU's with the one in the Iphhone 5, it's not the same thing.

Begin with -25 mV but don't set at boot, use your phone for a day like as always (games, browsing, etc...). If you don't have reboots or anything wrong then try another step by - 25 mV. If you went too low your phone will reboot, (so don't use the set/apply on boot setting or you could have a bootloop), at this point you"ll know the undervolt possibility. Apply your last setting before the crash and see...
I don't know what we could do more... I think you need to read a bit more

Heloo i have the same problem when i play games likeplants vs zombies my phone hetas badly imen like 70°C(160°F) and i dont think it normal in like 10 to 15 min to be like that,i have root andtrickster app instaled and i alawys check the temperature.
I know its normal for the phone to heat but not so fast i seen thrads where users reported theyre g2 doesent heat bad att all.I have cpu threshold. on ,activated it from secret men.
So please helpwith advice and youre experience with this problem.
Thank you!
Hi,
Strif3, it's normal, point. 70°C is the CPU temperature limit before thermal throttling. What can I say more??? Read my posts above...
Use your phone like you want, as usual in any case there is a thermal protection! I think that Qualcomm knows how their SoC needs to be set about thermal stuff and I think (I'm sure) you can play heavy games without any issues even if your phone is at 70°C.
If your CPU temp was at 100°C (without modifie the thermal throttling), ok maybe here there is a problem (it depends also what you are doing), but I repeat 70°C during a game and after 10 mins i's totally normal!
If you all guys are worried about the CPU temperature, stop playing games, browsing in 4G and underclock your CPU to 300 Mhz and all will be fine...

why you play your phone in the sun ??
and if you play high graphic game the phone will sure get hot than normal
my s5 gets hot very quickly.. when i use it for 10-15mins (very light use checking mail and browsing).. it gets warm... when on moderate use (transfering lots of stuff on sdcard) it gets hot .... and when using a lot of apps (not even gaming).. it gets really really hot.
I installed cpu temp and I get temperatures like 60 degrees... sometimes i even get warning it's over 70 degrees.
I am on kitkat neatrom. will lollipop help with the heat? Is it actually normal? My friend has galaxy s4 mini and it does not get hot.. only warm under similar heavy load

No is not normal. Not even in games. When i was on kit kat hw accelerate h265 1080p movies only played in sw mod and then my cpu never got over 70 (and this is a ****ing cpu intensive **** for 1-2 h) and after finish the movie temp got lower immediately.
Don't use kernel others than stock!
I am on stock... I will try a stock rooted lollipop rom... I get 70 degrees at times (some peak..it's not continous i think ).. average max temp is 61 degrees celcius... is this dangerous? It's quite hot to touch the screen. Meanwhile I underclocked my max cpu freq to see how it performs.
can someone install stabilitytest and do the classic test for 5-10mins and tell me what battery temp they get? I get 36.1 - 37.5 degrees but i underclocked my cpu to 1190mhz. I feel the device being warm... top of the phone is warmest
edit: done same test on my old htc desire and the temp gets max at 33.6 to 34.6 but the device does not feel warm at all.. wdf is wrong with the galaxy s5?
It's actually the top part of the screen that is very hot to touch
