Hi I have a gps running windows ce.net5.0, now I want to get to the desktop, have access from my pc to the device registry and to the device memory, noticed that the device does not have explorer.exe that should be located in the windows directory, if some1 has a windows ce 5.0 device can you please upload the explorer.exe found at windows/explorer.exe. Would be very much appreciated, if my hack works I will create a tutorial on how to have navig8 b90/b95 gps units, want to just install racechrono to my gps, and access the desktop, thanks in advance
I have explorer.exe but still no access to CE
RAC 5000 dat nav!
It won't let me copy it!
All exe,dll asnd cpl files seem to be protected from copying???
You might use CeDesktop, an explorer replacement that definitly runs under CE5
DL: http://rs52.rapidshare.com/files/37224775/ceDesktop.exe
Can you upload somewhere else please, can't download it with my blackberry

hi people
I am looking out for a software for my Vista Operating system in which i can install cab files directly from my desktop without copying it to my device n then installing it.
There r many softwares actually but none of them r vista compatible..for eg cabviaactivesync.
Any developpers intrested in helping us out
WinCE CAB installer
Here you go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2212896#post2212896
You can drag and drop CABs there, or ever better, associate .CAB files with it in Vista, so, all you need to do to install a CAB is a double click (while having ActiveSync on of course)
wow so fast reply.thank u so much..i hope it works on vista.
i have tried this already but not working on vista..its says file cant be accessed!!even in admin mode

^^this works fine for me on vista, i just right click on the cab then send to, WinCE cab installer
Doesn't work for me. Get access denied. And what's worse: you can't uninstall the damn thing.
Edit:
Found it, just remove the Send to entry and delete cabinst.exe from Windows folder.

Having recently upgraded to Windows 7, I bumped into this issue as well and googled my way to this thread, but found no solutions like you guys.
It seems that all would be well if I turned off User Account Control, which, however, I don't really want to.
Thus I did more searches and found the following article:
Selectively disable UAC for your trusted Vista applications
Although the steps described in the above article did not prevent a UAC prompt from popping up, my installation of WinCE CAB Installer works now.
Hi guys,
I have successfully compiled the android platform for ARM (Xscale) processor, but i don' tknow how to rename it so the bootloader could recognise the image file from the SDcard, could you pin pointment what the filename is, it's quite urgent and i need to know it as soon as possible.
the files are system.img (the core file with all all applcations), ramdisk.img (image file fir all drivers ) and userimg.img for all the data the user will be strong...
thanks in advance.
If you guys wish to have the image files, i would gladly provide to you.

Are you trying to browse the folder with the phone or with your PC? I think my PC takes forever loading the contents of the folder as well. That's perfectly understandable considering the mobile communicates with your PC in Serial and there are close to 7000 files in your windows folder.
Just browse the folder with your mobile and use Total Commander.

try this...
maybe can help you
just install Mortscript
and make a script named as you want
with just the word
Reset
your file must be named xxxxx.mscr
You'll probably need to P/Invoke.
SetSystemPowerState is the function you'll want to use, though the exact implementation of it varies a little from device to device.
