[Request] Nandroid back up of stock 2.3.4 rooted - Nexus S General

I know I'm new to this form but nandroid backups have always got my nexus to where it needed to be. So if any one could upload a CWR Nandroid of stock 2.3.4 rooted that would be awesome.
I'm on GRI40 if that helps, but I'm sure different versions would be appreciated.

Then you would have access to their gmail account and contacts... unless you are asking for someone to completely wipe their phone and create a nandroid just for the express purpose of uploading it here for your convinience.

If you have GRI40 and the i9020 version then you can do it yourself
Just download the manual update.

[Q] Clean 2.2 (rooted or not) OTA nandroid?

hey all-
looking for someone who might have a wiped (factory reset/data) OTA 2.2 nandroid. i was stupid, jumped the gun and flashed sbf back to 2.1 and ran the OTA update... didn't have any issues with the update but the phone just ran like crap after... dropped calls, random reboots, wifi fighting with 3g ect... i luckily saw the info about NOT flashing back to 2.1 from the ota... but doing some "trouble shooting" with a verizon rep, when he had me do a battery pull i noticed i booted to bootstrap recovery, i rolled the dice, hoped a nandroid backup would cause the issues a 2.1 sbf did and went back to a leaked 2.39 froyo. phone has been flawless since, but im starting to wonder if im forever stuck in "limbo" and if i get to the point of returning the phone, id like to be able to do that with the ota... ive seen several clean nandroids of the 2.2 leak and thought if anyone was running a stock 2.2 ota... factory reset and nandroid?

I'm currently on the leaked 2.3.15 and wanted to know if I restored your nandroid for only the system, would I be running the OTA without updating anything else like the bootloader?

[Q] Return to Stock Settings

I have a BELL Desire Z which I rooted, S-Off and then flashed with the HTC Sense ROM from Paul O'brien. I am having more issues than anything so I want to know how I get back to the stock ROM.
I take it you dont have a nandroid backup? You could try that RUU method, it usually restores your self back to stock. I have my stock nandroid iimage lying around if ya need it.
Sent from HTC Desire Z using XDA App
The bell rom posted is .1, not the .5 version that's shipped.. so I don't think it's the same. So the RUU method wouldn't work..
I did a backup, but will it reset all my personal settings etc?
Is there a stock released ROM from HTC or bell or even an update on the way?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Be careful ! Do not try to flash an RUU that is older than the ROM you have, if you have S-OFF or you could end up bricking your phone - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=838484
You can use the "debranding" guide in the dev forum to go back to an older ROM if you have S-OFF.
In about it says the software is 1.34.405.5
What do I need to do exactly to get back to stock safely.

If your current ROM is 1.34.405.5, then you should be able to safely use either the stock 1.34.405.5 RUU, or the ROM extracted from that.
It's if you're trying to flash a ROM with a lower version number than that you're already running, if you're S-OFF, that you'll run into problems.
Thanks for the info, is there anywhere to download the stock Bell ROM from? Alot of these threads are confusing for a n00b like myself with all the abbreviations and different versions.
I basically want to get back to stock, root the phone, delete the bloatware and overclock it.
I was wondering... if you made a nandroid backup after having done some app installations and such of the stock rom, and you flashed back to that backup, you'd have your original ROM with all the app installations and settings you set right? What happens if you then proceed to do a factory reset? Does the ROM revert back to stock? Or does it simply revert back to the state of the ROM when you made the backup?

Although several stock ROMs are on this forum, unfortunately it looks like the current Bell ROM isn't there, only an older one. It would obviously be very useful if someone could get hold of it and upload it.
You can do a factory reset to set everything back to how your ROM came initially, if it's still on the stock ROM. But if you want to delete the bloatware and overclock etc, you may well be better flashing a different ROM, have a look and see what ones sound good.
My question is sort of along the line of that of the OP, since I'm somewhat new to this process still I hope you'll humor me. I've done a ton of reading, but I still have a few q's I couldn't seem to find buried in my research...
I have a Bell Desire Z, unlocked, rooted, S-OFF. I installed ClockWork & flashed the recovery partition and did a nandroid backup of my stock Bell partition. I then did a wipe / install of the non-sense G2 ROM Paul put out and have been using it (and enjoying it) quite a bit.
I think I'd like to try a Cyanogen ROM now, is it really just as simple as flashing the RC3 (doing a complete wipe, obviously) and then I'm good to go? I can then just restore apps/settings with Titanium...
If I want to revert back to my original Bell ROM, do I just restore that ROM from the nandroid backup I made as soon as I installed ClockWork?
If I'm on Pauls G2 Rom (or Cyanogen's ROM), and I do a 'factory wipe', that just resets the factory settings of that particular ROM right? It wouldn't take me back to the stock Bell ROM would it? (very sorry if this seems noobish)
Thanks folks.
Anyone?

Yes, you can wipe and flash Cyanogen. Yes, you can restore apps with Titanium. However, I don't yet understand how this works with "system"-type apps. e.g. what if you are using a different SMS app in Cyanogen to the stock ROM, can you restore your messages ? Of course if you are restoring an app that you installed on your stock ROM, to the Cyanogen ROM then Titanium should do it fine.

Yes, it just takes you back to the factory settings for that ROM that you're currently on. It won't take you back to the original ROM that came with your phone if you've switched to something else.
thank-you very much steviewevie I was hoping you'd respond! I appreciate it. It was the vote of confidence I needed to proceed.

You're welcome. I was pretty confused by what Titanium did at first, until I actually came to use it (along with a Nandroid backup) to do a backup of all my stuff and restore (using Nandroid) after I'd temporarily reverted to an earlier ROM.
I need to revert back to the stock Bell Desire Z ROM as well but didn't make a backup.

Stock Evo Nand Backup

Is there a downloadable Nandroid Backup of the stock Evo rom or any other rom out there somewhere? I saw that someone did it for the Stock Nexus S rom but I don't think that'd work on my Evo. I'm asking because I dug up my old Evo that is stuck on a Fresh boot loop and I'd like to try to fix it. I tried a factory reset but that didn't work, nor can I flash new roms so I'm pretty much stuck without a Nand Backup.

Yea, use that link to get a stock rom, NOT a stock nandroid backup. NEVER use a nandroid backup from another evo, it's just asking for trouble.

ESPECIALLY a Wimax Image as those RSA keys are disabled the second they get the phone back.

Thanks, that is a great link. Could you point me to a link on how to flash a Sprint EVO 4G with a stock ROM. I have a phone that I would like to get to it's original state, but I have never flashed one of these before.

[BELL] Revert back to "stock" Bell Froyo 2.2.2 or GB 2.3.4 from CyanogenMod7-PreBeta2

[BELL] Revert back to "stock" Bell Froyo 2.2.2 or GB 2.3.4 from CyanogenMod7-PreBeta2
Hi all,
The Nandroid backup I performed of Bell GB 2.3.4 before installing CM7 PreBeta2 will not restore properly, I'm getting an MD5 mismatch.
This was the only proper backup I had previous to installing CM7 PB2 - all went well and I received confirmation that the backup was successful prior to installing CM7.
How would I go about returning to Bell GB 2.3.4 without a proper Nandroid backup? Do I have to flash Stock Bell Froyo 2.2.2 first then install 2.3.4?
I do not want to brick my device by returning to an older Android - my device is unlocked.
Your help is very appreciated!
You shuold use nshimselfs gobstopper 2.2.2 to get back to stock bell 2.2.2. From there you can do whatever you want. You can also use his gobstopper bell 2.3.4 to go directly to that, instead of going back to 2.2.2 first.
Find the user page of nfhimself, then look at threads started by him.
Good luck! cheers

Thanks - Bell 2.3.4 will not install directly, I get an error while it's flashing system... I need to go back to 2.2.2 then back to 2.3.4 as per what I've read. Downloading the 2.2.2 gobstopper now... will keep you posted.

<Argh>. Similar problem as 2.3.4, different location... this is what happens when I choose zip Bell_2.2.2.stock.zip off Internal (tried External too) after performing a wipe data/factory reset:
Updating app.bin (system mmcblk0p12)...
assert failed: package_extract_file("app.bin", "/internal/app.bin")
E:Error in /sdcard/Bell_2.2.2.stock.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I'm using romracer's CWM 4.0.1.5-atrix3.2
Anybody have ideas?
Think I figured it out... I needed to use Tenfar's CWM (unlocked) to install these gobstoppers...
I have a friend with a Motorla Atrix on Bell. She just upgraded to 2.3 and she does not like the ui updates and wants to go back to 2.2 (both were stock versions). Do I have to do these same steps or is there some easier way?
Thanks

Make backup of stock ROM

Hey guys,
I'm looking to throw CM7 on this atrix I just picked up but would like to have an option to return to the stock build. From the instructions I read, is it as simple as making a backup of my current stock ROM from within CWM?
Any help or direction is appreciated. Thanks.

Hmm thanks for pointing that out. So should I want to revert back I would simply install the 2.3.4 zip with my appropriate radio through CWM?
You can create your own fruitcake, look here:

Or you could do the same with 2.3.5.zip (and 2.3.5webtop.zip if you care). This is a rooted stock 2.3.5. Not real diff from 2.3.4 but some better AFAIAC.
One hint. Whatever you choose go ahead and get it on the sdcard. Sbricks happen and it will save you some angst if all you have to do is CWM install zip.

Yes, just backup from CWM then restore if you want to revert back. It's that simple.
