I'm switching to a samsung focus in a few days and would like to use the 32gb card i installed on my dvp (aftermarket card).
On the DVP, when resetting the phone via "settings>about>reset phone", at what stage does the card get formatted? Would it be possible to do a battery pull here and then remove the card?
Thanks for any help.
I think you'll get a better response on the general WP7 forum. I see the official AT&T Mango update was too little, too late for you as well.

Yep. FWIW, sd cards went a lot smoother on the Focus. I guess the DVP not having a hardware key combo to reset the device (again, F dell) had me gun shy. All i had to do was put the card in (with the card still full from the dvp OS), boot the Focus, then reset it. Incredibly easy and now im good to go.
That's my biggest concern about the Titan is storage. I had a surround before the DVP, and had to manage content at 16gb. I'm not sure if the sd card slot is accessible on the Titan.

There is no SD card slot on the Titan.

The Sony Xperia Z is suffering from a persistent hardware failure, which is inserted SD cards unusable. This is evident at least from a increasing stream of complaints from users. The update to Android 4.2 seems no solution to offer.
Several online users do complain about a serious problem with SD cards in combination with the Xperia Z It turns out that memory cards, may suddenly become unusable. After a period of normal function, "Yesterday I received the message" SD card unexpectedly removed ", since then did not see the phone's SD card," writes user Omega Supreme on the T-Mobile forum. "The computer stops doesn't see the SD card"
The result is that these users have lost all data on the SD card. A conversation with duped Ray Jacobs teaches us that also bring different recovery programs for the 'corrupted' SD cards no solace. "The card is just deceased," said Jacobs.
Hardware Problem
Sony recognizes that it is a hardware problem, but calls it an 'external hardware error' where the company itself has no effect. This is evident from the email conversation Jacobs with Sony. The Xperia manufacturer says: "The hardware [SD card, ed] is not Sony, so there can not be responsible for it, unfortunately."
Sony last week began rolling out Android 4.2 to the Xperia Z, but this update has according to several people brought no solution to the problem. What does seem to confirm that it is a hardware problem is. The editors are currently no problems were detected with the device. The fault seems arbitrary to fall, possibly depending on the type of SD card and Xperia Z device.
ComputerTotaal.nl Sony has turned questions about the complaints, but the company has not made any response given here.

I had the same problem with my Xperia Z, then I removed the SD card, backed it up to my PC using SD card reader, format it, restored its content and returned it back to my phone, since then it works as charm.
From day 1 I had this issue with my kingston 32gig card. Randomly giving me the message that the card had been removed so I used to take it out and put it back and sometimes restart the phone. Till it completely died after some time. Now I have a TDK 16gig and till now no issue.

4.2 fixed the issue for me, or at least I think it did. I formatted to Exfat since the new update supports it natively, and I haven't had a single disconnected transfer or "unmounting" problem with my 32 GB Kingston.
I've had a 32gb Samsung SD card fried by the Xperia Z. Screen started flickering all over then fried the card.
Definitely a hardware fault as seems too many people are reporting this.

I never had any problems with my 64 GB SanDisk Ultra® microSDXC™ UHS-I card. After updating to Android 4.2.2, I did reformat it to exFAT, but it worked fine with FAT32 too.
I had this problem. Now my 32GB SD card dead. Replace with Sandisk Ultra 64GB.
I have 16 GB microSD card, class 10 from Kingston but never had this issue.

I wonder if this is a phone or a card issue. My Sandisk 32 GB card died, but my Samsung 64 GB never missed a beat.
Anyhow people, loads of people dont have an issue with an SD Card, but loads do.
Commenting by Sony its a Software issue doesn't make any sense.
So whats going on then?
My idea in this situation, due to USB and SD are placed next to eachother, there must ne some interference on the SD
My card died and lost all my pictures I memory reader on the PC can't find the card.

Hello guys, just bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500 from a technology store in Cyprus
I have a problem with the SD Card Socket, it doesn't click when i insert the sdcard and i have to drag it out to take it out, it won't click out either.
Using an 32GB Class 10 Verbatim MicroSDHC.
I've used the application SD Tools several times and when i "Start Speed Tests" the application freezes and i can't use the sd card in any other application, I don't know if any other guy has this issue.
If anyone knows anything please tell me how to fix this

If you just bought it and have such a problem... The better option might be to take it back on warranty and see what they have to say about the sd card slot. Since it is not clicking in properly, maybe some of the connectors are a bit out of line with the improper insertion.
Hell yeah, that's what warranty is for. Why pay to fix something that should be working out of the box...

checked your reply, thank you very much, the strange part is that i used a SanDisk 16GB Class 4 microSDHC card and it clicked perfectly, it even clicks-out too, and it works perfectly, i don't know what to think, i've put the two microsd cards next to each other and they have the same exact size, i don't know what is wrong ;/
Hi.
I recently bought myself a 64GB class 10 Sandisk card from Amazon which I was going to use with my Note 3. When I first put it in I formatted the card in the phone. And then I took a few pictures and videos and all seemed to work fine.
The next day when I was taking some photos it suddenly switched over to the internal memory and I got the message that it was unable to save to SD card. I checked the gallery and the last picture i took was corrupted. So after this I tried taking the card out with the phone turned off, put it back in and started the phone. I was able to take some photos but when I was going to record a video it corrupted the file again.
After this I put the card in my PC and did a full format to exFAT and tried filling all ~59GB with pictures, videos and other files and from what I could see no files were corrupted.
Then I formatted it once again in my PC to exFAT and put it in the phone. After a few pictures it once again corrupted the files, even the camera app (default one) crashed at one point. Formatted the card in my phone again but same problem.
I then tried the card in my Gopro camera, first formatted it in the camera then recorded several videos in both 4K, 1440P, 1080P and took several pictures and everything was fine.
I'm not sure but the card seems to be working in other devices. Do you think the problem is the card or my phone? Before this I've used a 16GB class 4 Sandisk card with no problems at all.
Any tips on what I can do?
Thank you in advance!

It's stock and not rooted.
Could be a bad card, try unmounting and mounting the card again and see if that fixes it.

Yeah I've tried that a few times as well and it didn't help. But as I mentioned the card seems to work just fine it other devices. But in my note 3 files get corrupted.
Do you know of any program or any other way to test/confirm that it is the card that's bad?

Actually I do. I have used the HP SD Card Format Tool to fix cards in the past and it has worked pretty well. I also found this thread here on XDA that references it as well.

What write and read speeds were you getting in the PC? The Sandisk models are among the most faked models and that is by far the most frequent problem that I have seen. There have been also certain batches with problems, but Sandisk is always replacing those almost no questions asked if it is a genuine card.
I also have a 64GB Sandisk Ultra which was used about 1 year in my i9300 and now almost 4 months in the N9005 and so far I have never had any problems (but I am keeping an eye on the 128 GB models if those seriously go down in price).

I just ran a test in the program H2testw 1.4 and got these results:
Warning: only 60872 of 60874 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the past files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 8.49 MByte/s
Reading speed: 17.5 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
So the reading speeds seems fine I guess, it also filled the card with files and verified it.
I would assume that if it was a fake it would have slower speeds and maybe only 2-4GB of space?
I am using the SD card adapter that came with the SD card, and then I put it in a USB SD card adapter in a USB 2.0 port.
Is anyone else having problems with 64GB SD cards? It's as if my Note 3 wasn't compatible with the card since it is working fine in other devices and isn't a bad card according to the test I did.
Sorry .deleted.
Sounds like a hardware fault on the Note 3... I've been using both a sandisk and a samsung 64gb class 10 card on both my note 3's with no problems from the start...
Never had a problem with file corruption....
sdhc and sdxc are 2 different formats - sounds like you could use a 32gb sd card fine but it has issues with the 64gb sd card.... 64gb sd card is the newer format sdxc....
Unfortunately here you hit a snag... Unless the samsung sites list 64gb as ok to use on the Note 3 then they may just say to to warranty repairs.... If 64gb is the listed size (generally "up to ") you should have no problem. It does sound like your card reader doesn't like sdxc... Unless you can get your hands on another 64gb sd card to find out you not be able to use your 64gb sd card...
