Hi,
no matter which rom i used, once installed, my sgs doesn't go or bootanimation screen, just it startup and hanged and two menu and other key get on, and then rebooted again and again, i used the oden to flash with stock rom and also custom roms but no luck, anybody please help?
thx
you need to flash with all 3 files and 512 pit. make sure repartition is checked.
then boot into recovery and do a factory reset
i have done that, but maybe they are old files, can you please let me know the link or links for esay dl. of matching all 4 files?
thx
Read the first post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901 and download the stock ROM you want from there. If you are upgrading from 2.2 / 2.2.1 then make sure you flash the one with bootloader.
512.pit can be downloaded from http://www.multiupload.com/I5WICSBFJ1
Stock roms and instructions here .

I accidentally uninstalled Touchwiz using Titanium Backup. Since I already use ADW.Launcher, I thought its not a big deal, until I did a hard reset.
Upon hard reset, my Galaxy S tries to install Touchwiz, which of course fails, and the darn phone just crashes and hangs. I managed to get it to boot up eventually after some trouble, but I'll prefer not to have to do this everytime I hard reset.
Can someone please please send me the TouchWiz apk and odex files so that I can put them back in the system directory ? I'm using stock Froyo 2.2 ( Build FROYO.DXJPA, Kernel 2.6.32.9 ). Please email them to [email protected], or tell me where I can download them.
I know this would cease to be a problem if I just flash a custom rom, and I would love to try that in future, but not now.
Thanks so much in advance.
Easy way would be to go to the Rom Kitchin build update zip with only the Touchwizz in it and flash it from SD card via CWM.

APK might be in Perkas file stash from this forum ..###

Thanks, but I'm on 2.2, which means I have the 3e loader which does not allow me to setup update.zips which are unsigned. For this reason, i was also not able to get CWM installed. I know there's a way to downgrade the loader to 2e, but I'll rather not try that at this moment.
I agree with jje. The best and probably easiest way would be to flash 2e recovery. Chainfire has created a kernel for that purpose and as long as you can access download mode you should be fine.

Flash SpeedMOD kernel with Odin and you'll get CWM.
Hi JJEgan, anfearg, Intratech
Thanks for the advice so far. But would it be possible for me to just simply use a file manager to copy the TouchWiz apk and odex files to my system/app directory ? My phone is rooted, so I know it's possible as long as I can get those files. I'm just not sure if there's anything else that needs to be configured to get Android to use those files during setup. If this is workable, this would be the easiest route. Now I just need to get my hands on those files.
I know Odin can fix this, but I'll rather just stick to the current stock rom for now, and just add the missing 2 files.

I'm going to take a look at Odin and see if its not too risky to flash my i9000. I've flashed my old WinMo phones in the past, so flashing is not new to me. But I've yet to try it for Android. Maybe I'll give it a go.

OK, so I spent a couple of hours googling and downloaded Odin, a couple of stock ROMs, PIT files and USB drivers. Fired up Odin, followed instructions, and I'm now back to 2.1 with the 2e loader. Sweet. Had a heart stopping moment when Odin said "FAILED" in red, so i just reflashed another ROM and it went through successfully.
Looks like I'm in the ROM flashing crowd now.
Quick question : some ROMs ( like the one I flashed successfully with Odin ) contains just a few tars - 1 each for CODE/PDA, CSC and MODEM/Phone.
Others ( like the one that Odin failed to flash ) just contains a bunch of directories with files that have bin, rfs, lfs extensions.
Why are there 2 different types of ROM packaging ? Is the first one ( with the tar files ) specific to Odin ? How do I flash the other type then ? With ClockWorkMod ?

the .tar types are to be flashed via odin only whereas the ones with the directories are to be flashed via CWM(2e recovery).... mix them up and you'll be in trouble... ;-)
You only needed to flash the recovery 2e zip file through Odin from the forum .

The single .tar file with .rfs, .bin, etc. is a high-level package. It's sort of a firmware update and can only be flashed on top of an existing firmware. That is, you don't tick re-partition in odin. The ones that come with 3 separate files for CSC, PDA and MODEM are either medium or low-level packages. I think, the low-level ones come with bootloaders. These can be flashed with re-partition ticked.
Thanks guys.
Today I learned how to flash using ODIN (flashed a European 2.1 ROM onto my international i9000 originally with Asian ROM, and downgraded my 3e loader to 2e).
Then I learned to use ClockWorkMod, which I used to flash Darky's ROM 9.5 ( nice ROM, although booting up seems to take an usually long time. Not sure why ). Finally, I almost had a heart attack, twice, when my phone refused to boot after flashing. Nothing a 3 button combo to download mode couldn't fix though.
Fun fun fun. Thanks all.
So I am not to NOOB but I sure acted like it last night when I was way tired and tried to flash a ROM. Here is what I did...
I didn't catch that I didn't have the CWM but that I had booted into the stock recovery tool... Well I didn't before it was to late that is...
I clicked WIPE DATA
I clicked WIPE CACHE
Then noticed there was no "install from SD"
So it seems like whatever I find to install from ODIN I can't get the CWM to install so I can then flash a ROM!
I need my phone up for work, I am in HOT SH!T!
How can I either flash a rom via stock recovery "update format" OR install CMW via ODIN?
PLEASE HELP ASAP!!
Thank you
why don't you just flash again via odin and then root your phone via odin as well?
Don't quite understand whats your problem. So what if you wiped data and cache the rom is still there. Reboot normally and flash cfroot according to your firmware and then you should have cwm up and running. After that flash desired rom and the end.

Flash one of the CF-Root kernels through Odin, whichever one matches the firmware you're running. They have CWM baked in, along with root so you can flash a ROM afterwards.
If you can't get into download mode, turn your phone off, plug it in and hold down + power + home and it should boot into download mode. Then you can flash with Odin.
I thought the same thing, that so what that I wiped them... but when I rebooted the phone it just sits at the "Rethink possible screen"
I can get into download mode and I did find the "cf" post but I dunno what kernel I am running as I can't boot to go into settings to seek.
if you in recovery mod choose reboot, and it will be ok, than read: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399,
or put in download mod: turn your phone off, hold down + power + home. Then flash with Odin.
I know you probably don't want to, but you can try doing a factory reset, that should allow you to get your phone up and running. If you have gmail installed it should put all your contacts back, as long as you backed up to gmail.
If you have an old copy of titanium backup you won't loose ALL your apps, this is why I tend to back up every weekend, I'm only a week behind with everything if problems arise....
Cheers...
Flash stock rom... Download cwm and flash with odin.... Then instal rom u want with cwm...

like I said, I am not a noob, just made a mistake...
I found the cf-kernel page, but I dunno what kernel I am running and so I dunno what kernel to flash (It seems vital)
"just rebooting" don't work lol I wish... it hangs at the "rethink possible" boot screen...
I was rooted but running the stock rom, if I can get CWM installed I think I will be golden, but whatever I seem to flash from ODIN don't work :-( no matter what nothing will flash as "PDA" but when I flash using "phone" it seems to install "zimage" which is the embedded file and succeeds and phone reboots... but still only to the rethink possible point.
flash any stock firmware then flash supercore 2.0 and do whatever you want from there
Think i know what the problem is,i have same issue sometimes, try flashing anogher rooted Kernel through odin, make sure its like if the rom is a kj3 that it has a kj3 kernel.see if that works

Be glad to but it isn't an option in the recovery?
My options are as follows...
Reboot system now
Apply update from SD
Wipe/reset
Wipe/cache
been in similar, if not same situation, things were missing from cwm recovery, like you wrote...if memory serves me fine,
flash stock fw with pit, repartition and everything...
then some rootec kernel with recovery...
Oh sh!t... just flashed the pit file here... http://www.darkyrom.com/community/i...-with-odin/#download-a-pit-file-for-the-i9100
and odin said success... and screen went black.
Not responding at all now :-(
let's go in a safe way...as long as you have download mode, you're OK.
Go to samfirmware or somewhere on XDA and find FULL STOCK FIRMWARE with proper .pit file and flash it with odin. Not kernel, not anything that is not full rom.
since you state that you are not noob, you know what from there.

What on earth are you doing?
It clearly states:
I9000 & I897 owners (not I91000!!!) may also need a PIT file (also included in RE ROM ZIP files). I will explain further what it's for.
Why didn't you follow a tutorial on xda? Can you boot in download mode?

Hi guys,
I have a Motorola Defy which I have flashed CM7 (2ndInit) and also have a multi boot setup.
I would like to restore back to stock but I am slightly confused. I have done some research and I need obtain the correct SBF file and then I found the following link:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_jordan/list.php
My device is a UK Orange device and I found the device file:
JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_177-003_OR_SIGN_SIGNED_USAJRDNEMARAB1B8ORAGB03E.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYOORAGB_P018_A007_M001_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf.gz
But I am confused as to what to do, do I simply flash the above file? If so how?
Many Thanks
-c
seems correct
Ok further research and looks like I need RSD Lite to flash this file.
So I just flash this and im back to stock and 2ndInit and multi boot will be gone?
If I wanted to go back to custom ROM would it be the same process as before? I read somewhere about not being able to downgrade certain stock firmwares
Questions go in the Q&A section
ok sorted! I flashed the file but resulted in a boot loop. I hard reset the device and flashed again and everything worked great
thats gr8 !!
Hello guys
My phone is Galaxy S7 Edge Duos- SM935FD. I seem to have bricked the device.
Below are the actions I have performed.
1. Flashed TWRP using ODIN as described on https://www.the***********.com/root-samsung-galaxy-s7-edge/
2. Booted successfully into the OS. Found superuser app installed.
3. When I went to back to Flash ROM i erased multiple things such as internal storage/dalvik/cache/system after which device got stuck in bootloop. Showing NO OS.
4. I tried flasing Custom ROM Zip files through OTG. The process failed showing package corrupt and still stuck in bootloop.
I can enter recovery/download mode however cant seem to get the device booted. How can I get the device to work either Custom or stock ROM.
I will be going through some threads in the meantime, your guidance is very much appreciated.
Flash stock rom with Odin: This shouldnt be posted on Development Forum but rayher questions and Answers.
Find what your Stock Firmware for your phone is using Sammobile and flash stock then re do rooting and TWRP Process
zzThrain is right -- I wouldn't risk flashing custom ROMs at this stage, especially because many contain new bootloaders or other stuff that might make this even worse for you. Just pick up the relevant Samsung stock ROM file (from, for example, SamMobile) and see if it boots normally again. Once it does, re-do the process *after checking all MD5s of the files you used* -- I, too, have had it happen before that a download went corrupted and I flashed it. If all is well, get into Download Mode and let Odin rip.

Go to recovery mode & transfer rom to phone using pc. wipe cache, delvikcache, data only. No need to wipe internal sd. Install rom & reboot.
if you phone goes to recovery or download mode, no need to worry. If it doesn't go to neither recovery nor download mode, them your phone might have probably bricked.
It's my pleasure to help you if you still facing this problem

Hi
I tried flashing stock rom from sammobile. I could find for SM-935FD hence downloaded SM-935F.
It got stuck at 90% showing System in ODIN.
From the ZIP file which is the file that needs to be flashed among below ? I tried AP.
AP_G935FXXU2DRB6_CL12365438_QB16944063_REV00_user_low_ship_meta.tar

HOME_CSC_OJV_G935FOJV2DRAG_CL12785220_QB16560277_REV00_user_low_ship.tar
Now when I try again it immediately shows FAIL. Am i Flashing the right stock rom ?
It Worked. Thanks to all who helped.
I wasn't running ODIN as Admin and also was using an slightly older version V3.10.7.
Hi Everyone,
So My Samsung Tab A 2016 wifi only T580, is literally dead, but not physically, so the problem is exactly the same as Saznat is this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-a/help/samsung-t580-update-failed-frp-locked-t3914729
My tab is like new not a single scratch on it :crying:
the tab is:
running android 8
frp locked
can't boot into recovery no matter what stock rom I flash, all I get is no command
I can't flash twrp, the tab won't allow it because of frp lock.
any new tricks to try to fix it from the experts will be appreciated

Hello @Leboboy19 ,
Can you try using Odin (newest version ) and flash the original stock rom that you had before messing around with custom rom. make sure to uncheck re-partition. you may have to flash the stock boot and stock recovery .img which you will find on shellbox firmwares.
If that does not work can you try flashing the twrp md5 for that device . let me know

Thanks for your message brother, you reminded me of the tab after giving up on it, after months of trying finally found a fix.
to anyone having this problem:
1. Download your latest stock
2. extract it and swap the recovery.img with a recovery.img from a combination file that matches your binary number
3. Enjoy Your Recovered Tablet or sell it like me:laugh:
