Any suggestions for some good kernels for this rom.

Incredikernel by Chad. Its pretty sweet.

I've had excellent results with Tiamat noSBC, on CM7 stock I was at 70% by the end of school idling, on Tiamat I was at 80% end of day... before I'd given the new kernel time to settle. Excellent battery, and smooth as hell. Highly recommended.
Is it overclockable.

Pretty sure tiamat is overclockable, I know incredikernel is.

It is. I'm running at 806 MHz but it can go to about 1200.

Try Incredikernel or Tiamat
Sent from my Incredible
ROM: CyanogenMod 7.0.2
Kernel: Incredikernel
Those, or invisiblek's kernel are pretty much your only options anyways lol... And Savaged-Zen.

I just loaded Chad's kernel and its smooth and its fast if u overclock it.

Thing is, it's crazy responsive at 806, and gets amazing battery life to boot

Wait I'm on Chad's kernel and the highest setting in the cm7 performance menu is 1113mHz, how do you get 1.19? SetCPU?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
In CM7 performance settings on Tiamat, I get up to 1267
Huh, mine go from 128-1113..

Different kernels have different maximum CPU frequency settings.
Edit: And minimum.

Hey guys, post your quadrant scores here please.
I have an Evo with hardware version 003 and my quadrant score is 1212 with the 3.70.651.1 update. (Android 2.2) I'm running stock btw.
Mine's about 1400 and I'm running CM6 with the built in kernel... But I was using Myn's and Fresh over the last week and I didn't get over 1100 with either one of them... But I really couldn't tell a difference in speed, just a different number

oh miui, you slay me
I get about 1100-1200 depending if my clocks are stock or oced
Time for everyone to retake their tests. New quadrant = alot lower scores... :/
My old scores were:
miui: 1700
savage gb: 1500
i get max ~13xx by using ROm myn's warm twopointtwo RLS 5 and kernel netarchy 4.3.2
I get just over 1000. Check my sig for my rig!

Bionix 1.3.1 with 1.4 overclock. Battery life is awesome.

Sweet Honey 2.5 with Overstock Kernel 1.5.....fast, smooth, without a lagfix, and without voodoo.
ROM
I have been loyal to Team Whiskey for a couple of months running the various releases of Bionix-v , just flashed Trigger 2.7.2 a few days ago, running overstock 1.5, and WOW! Speed, battery, = Very Happy!
Axura with Categorically Worthless (gonna be trying tiger's blood) currently get ~20 hours battery life, not to mention the rom is smooth fast and completely stable now. highly recommended anyone to try Axura
i9000 2.2.1 JS7 with Overstock 1.4 (Voodoo "Lagfix" disabled)
Um, it's excellent.. not themed, looks great, runs great.
Greatest ever was Ginger Clone R2 hands down for me stock. Currently running i9000 Criskelo ROM V72 with Dead horse 2.2.1 OC'd to the tune 1.2 ghz. Criskelo is amazing. Gotta love that Arc launcher. I really like the theme he has running as well. Sweet honey is also a very close third.
Atriarc lg v2 with overstock 1.5. For me it has the best battery life and I tried all except cm7 and double rainbow. This is also the fastest and smoothest imo. And voodoo is disabled, with no lag at all.
Sent from my Atriarc powered Vibrant using XDA app.
Bionix 1.3.1
i constantly flash new roms whenever they come out. Just flashed triggerV2.8
I've tried all the 2.2 ROMs, and had issues with all of them except for Bionix-v. Nothing major with the others, but there were little things that wouldn't work on my phone; i.e. Trigger - calendar, AXURA - call blocker, etc.
I'm also running the stock kernel w/ voodoo and it seems to give the best battery life for me. OverStock was good, Tiger Blood was awesome (better w/ OC), but my phone was really unstable.
For day in, day out use; and my phone running smooth, it's Bionix-v 1.3.1 with the stock voodoo kernel for me.
Subject asks it all...., but please explain reason.

All I know is that I can only hit about [email protected] 1GHz on Quadrant.... CM7 2.3.3 ... not sure if its this EVO or what but my white one always hit 1250 on stock ROM stock stock... It hit 1550 on CM6 final. I'm not sure if its the ROM because I don't have that phone for comparison.. (stolen)...
My 3G speeds are also very slow.. sorry if off topic. Id like to know if a different kernel would help the Quadrant score.

Ok explain to me how your rant about quadrant has anything to do with the op' s question? Besides quadrant means nothing Imho . And the new quadrant will give low numbers.
I have tried just about every kernel around and
SavageZen ranks up there pretty high .
stock cm7 is a close 2nd for me and my phone .
SavageZen has sbc built in just a heads up .
from my phone duh
SavagedZen by FAR is the best kernel. The battery life I had with the SZ kernels on CM7 was unreal.
And SBC dangers are a myth. Stop freaking out about that.

I have to say SavagedZen.
Oh and there's a thread that has no-SBC versions floating around here somewhere.

Savagezen cfs is what my phone agrees with. your options are stock, savagezen, and tiamat. I would try different ones and see what works for you. Remember to give a kernel a day or two to settle in
swyped from my cyanogenized and gingerbreaded EVO
In my opinion the best CM7 kernel is the CM7 kernel
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Savaged zen... no question. The SBC thing does make me worry, though (and 0.2.1 doesn't have a no-SBC version).
I'm running this Rom and LOVING IT needless to say, but I need a kernel... I have an Evo n I'm running SavagedZen right now. Its cool while the phone is sleep, but I'm a medium-heavy user. What has been working for you guys, any suggestions??

I've always had better battery life with Tiamat than with SZ. Just wish Netarchy would make an AOSP kernel, cause I got the greatest life out of that with VaelPak

I started out with cm7 but the battery life was so-so. I tried a few other roms and kernel variations but nothing really stood out. My last rom was oxygen 2.1.4 using the netarchy kernel, but I was only getting about 1200ish in quadrant and oxygen seemed a little unstable.
I went back to using the new cm7 RC and the trinity UV kernel and the battery seems OK and i am getting around 2700 in quadrant.
Are there any other rom/kernel combinations that i should give a shot?

Don't base the ROMs speed on Quadrant alone, Oxygen is really fast.
Don't let an outdated benchmark test decieve you.

Correction: Dont let benchmarks deceive you.
Benchmarks regardless of what it is is pointless.
It was more that oxygen seemed unstable on my phone. I might give it another go if the new cm7 battery life sucks.

You might want to check that out. CM7 battery is fine for me. Like I said, Netarchy's 1.3.6 kernel (or 1.3.4) is a NECESSITY. use that and undervolt it using proton voltage control or setcpu and use the suggested volts suggested by proton (-20 across the board)
