What will be happening if I do install NoDo update over Zune on my HD2?
My Phone remember me all the time, like zune, that the new Update ist avaible.
I have think about it for two days, but I'm too cowardly. Have someone test it?
Or would it damage my WP7?

no it wont,
it wont install, it will restart and will be just the same as normal, end of story
No update no problem
Tried it last week.
The software tried to set up and crashed when it tried to reboot the phone.
First time it stopped when the phone booted to Android (Magldr preference)
Changed preference and tried again
got to a screen (on the phone) showing a link between the PC and WP7, then after 5 min crashed out. Phone rebooted without any changes.
I am now patiently waiting on the good folks at DFT to finish creating a NoDo for my Leo.

I have my Leo for 1 month. I flashed it (HSPL), installed cooked ROM and everything was fine. Than few days ago I installed new version of ROM and then the problems started...after every soft reset, ROM "restarted" (every tweak or installed program disappeared nad the phone looks like after installing new ROM) and after few resets it is stucked on the first screen (with numbers of radio etc.) and wont move further.
Can anyone help?

I know it's a pain, but have you tried a hard reset since this started? If not, give that a go. If you're still having problems then I'd recommend not using the ROM that you currently have.
have try flashing stock ROM from memory card? I guess it might work

As above - that's probably your only way to resolve then.

Wish I could, but all I can see is only white logging screen...phone doesnt react at all.
You can flash from the memory card without the need to start the device up and connect to a PC. That's what he's suggesting. I don't know how to do this myself, having only done it via ActiveSync, so I can't tell you how to do it. I do know that you put a ROM image in the root of your storage card and reboot the device, but there's more to it than that. Have a look in the ROM forum for more advice (unless someone can help you here, of course).

Will try it...as soon as I find the instruction
can you still get in to the bootloader, turn the phone on while holding volume down, get the 3 coloured screen, you can do the ROM and Radio from there

you dont have to have a booted phone to flash roms over usb. Just boot to bootloader and wait for the 'serial' to change to 'usb' then run your flash.

I only learnt because changed ROM without Radio first haha, im always learning on here its great
I cant seem to find a ROM that updates.
Every ROM proceeds till the backup needs to be created and then it stays stuck at 0% and then the update process gives me an error.
I thought it must be because of cutom ROMs with Chevron hack built in but it happens with the original Cotulla release too.
Any ideas?
the 7008 update is useless at the moment.. wait for nodo builds..
but what causes the error would be good to know.
tis not ment for your phone, and since EVERY rom out there for WP7 on the HD2 is actually the same ROM they all share the same issues.
Wait my friend, likely you'll need to wait for nodo that will also not work in our device so a further wait until someone gets that bodged in to a ROM will be needed
yeah you are right actually.
All custom ROMs must spring from the Cotulla release and since that one gives an error every one of the other must as well

correct my friend!
And, zune gives a registry error, obiously because the registry was tweaked to make it think it's an HD7. As much as they are alike and have the same specs, the hardware is completely different, so, you could do as much as brick your phone if you force an update. Although I'm not sure it would be bricked with the magldr in place........

Actually there is no more a registry error. Currently the 7008 update gives a timeout error. On anther note: During the update my PC installed drivers for a new device called LEO I guess this is where the problem really is

i noticed that as well so obviously our device still contains something that links it to a leo...i wonder what happens if you stop that device from installing?
I been searching through the registery on my PC and its full of Leo traces from before....cant remove them as they are all protected, will need to do a safe mode and get rid of it that way

Ok nothing like this happens in my case. However, i havent checked the registry recently so i dont know if there are orphan (or not) LEO traces there.
My phone is recognzed as an HD7, which is what the ROM chef intented i guess.
We al have to:
Work with the update files and cook them in a rom.
Wait a lot until someone release a rom with the update.

oh indeed, this is a much more sensable solution but it is curious that when trying to update Zune detects the phone as a HD2 and installes a LEO device driver for it, even though the phone is still listed and displayed as connected as an windows phone 7 deviec
very curious indeed
did someone thought in the bootloader ?!?!if it's behind the Leo issue after the restart...

I am guessing that the bootloader is not the one at fault here. I think it could be the USB driver. We are using legacy USB drivers in the ROM that have been ported from windows mobile 6.5
That could be the reason the computer installs the device as a LEO
Hi, when i try update ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236027) (from 7008 to 7392) after 2% backup Zune show restarting and give me error 801812DC. I try it with 2 different sd card and with 2 PC and always same error.
Anybody can help? Thanks
Yea I had that. Uninstall Zune before you do this update. Delete the contents of the Zune folder in Program Files, then reinstall zune and run the update again.

Thanks, but no luck with that. Still show error. Any other idea?
EDIT: And after last atempt to update (after error) phone stuck on SIM Pin page and I must do 3 hard reset.
Ok, I try it now again and now backup status stuck on 1% and again resrart and error, and again freeze PIN page...
Does it work if you don't use a sim that requires a pin?

Hi,
I just installed WP 7 7004 on my way to Mango installation.
However, the phone is constantly resetting.
What could be the problem?
It could be caused by the SD card. Last time I went this route to load Mango, I left the SD card until I got the first two updates installed. There is some info on this in other posts.

If you are starting out from 7004, do not reboot after the initial flash. Go straight into flashing the next set of cabs. Sounds like you're flashing Yuki/XBmod'a ROM.

yes, i am. thank you. i removed the SD card and re-flashed the ROM. Its working. However, I am trying to upgrade from 7004 to 7720 directly but unable to find
WP7-7004-7720-Patch.zip anywhere. The old multiupload locations are not working.
Do you know anywhere else i can find it?

You can find all of Yuki/XBmod's cabs and xaps here.
http://xboxmod.sylvester20007.com
Go to http://xboxmod.sylvester20007.com/CABS/OSBUILD.CAB/ and use the 7004 to 8107 autoinstaller. This is a nonstop update installer except for a pause after the first set of installs...follow screen instructions once the installation starts.
Don't forget to flash SP1 cab once the above is completed.

Thanks once again, i did that and it worked fine till i flashed SP1 after 7720. I should have first got to 7740, but i flashed SP1 a step earlier.
Can I now go to 7740 and again flash SP1? Else how to undo SP1?

nope...have to start over again and flash from scratch...just flash sp1 last after 8107 mango finishes. you should not stop the flash going from 7004 to 8107...DO NOT INTERRUPT THE AUTOINSTALLER...JUST PRESS ANY KEY WHEN IT SAYS 'PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE' TO FINISH THE INSTALL TO 8107.
THE TOTAL TIME TAKES ABOUT 1.5 HRS.
READ THE SUGGESTED FLASH ON THE 1ST POST ON YUKI'S FORUM.
Problem is I have installed Pdaimatejam Rom Wp7.5 Tango all ok but during the WP7 initial setup I enter the date and time but then it gets stuck during the 'Installing apps' page.
Been there for nearly an hour now so I am pretty sure it is stuck
*EDIT* rebooted and it went through the same page in a fraction of the time, problem solved
your sdcard is tooo slow and this took long time... normal time is around one minute
Still stuck on installing apps
Hello,
Hi to all of you developers, testers and users.
This is my first post here on XDA.
I found really great informations here and I would like to thank all of you for this.
Maybe some of you can help me out : Just installed 1_HD2 Pdaimatejam Rom Wp7.8 OS.7.10.8862.144 v8.8 Auto Activation Code on my HTX HD2, and all went well till the initial setup, when the phone is stuck at the "Installing apps".
I can reboot the phone, but he's coming back to this step.
I waited about 30 mins, reboted 3 times till now.
Any help would be aprecieted.
Regards,
R
LE : after a long time, the step completed. I can now use my phone. Works really fast and stable.
I guess dxdy was right about the memory card.
