[Q] Stuck on splash screen Ginger yoshi 1.0 RC7.1 - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Hi all first post Cant seem to find the answer after searching around on other post.
I was running CM 6.1 Fine. They droped HTC Magic so I wanted to try Ginger yoshi 1.0 RC7.1
I installed rom then updated radio. The phone my be boot-looping I don't. I have re flashed it several times. One time it got stuck on HTC screen other time it got stuck on splash screen one other time it was black with back light still on.

Thanks so much for takeing the time to read my post I guess I will try 7.0 see if that works I think its the radio

Same thing with 6.x It looks like I need to upgrade my radio to 3.x I guess I will try in the morning. The Ginger yoshi splash screen is as far as I can get it freezes up after about 30 secs on that

From my under standing the 3.* radios were for rodgers (canada) so if you in us I don't think that will fix. You might just wipe and nandroid your previous and see if that works. I had I hard time installing yoshi the first time cause of I think sd card issues the stock sd card sucks being class 2. If you get cm 6.1 working from nandroid restore you might try to run yoshi rom from rom manager that's only way I could get it to install. And first boot with yoshi does take forever.

Yes, I believe you will need to change your radio to a 3.22 radio and you will also need an SPL 1.33.2009 or 1.33.2010 since you have the 32a board. Don't forget to flash the 32a kernel. It's also in Yoshi's Mediafire folder.
I think (could be wrong, confirmation anyone?) I remember reading somewhere that the 2.22 radios we're specific and that you might run into problems flashing other radios. (no, seriously. Wrong radios could very well brick your magic) Tread carefully, my friend.
Also, I ran into problems with both the 7.1 and the 7.1.1 RC. Wifi didn't work for both roms so I wen't back to RC 7.

Don't flash any radio yet! Do you have a headphone jack on your phone? If you do then flashing the 3.xx radio is a bad idea!

Well i restored to cm 6.1
Used rommanager to install 7.1.1 Wiped then rebooted into nana and used 32a kernel.zip I all so run boot-cm_2635.11_ds_32a-oc-uv-xtra-ram-fp-020711
If I dont run the 32a kernel.zip it will bootloop on htc my touch 3g screen.
I run 32a kernel.zip located in Yoshi's Mediafire folder and it locks up on ginger yoshi splash screen
Same way with 7.1 and 6.5 any suggestions I do have 3.5 jack but I dont have the fender
Since I re flashed I will include all stuff from fast boot.
Sapphire PTV 32a
Hboot 1.33.0013 (sapp31000)

radio 2.22.23.02
I guess Hboot is SPL? I used this for SPL boot-cm_2635.11_ds_32a-oc-uv-xtra-ram-fp-020711.zip I dont know if that was right or not. THanks much.

I was reading 7.1.1 is a wifi fix but from the post above your stateing its still broken is that right?

I updated to 1.33.2010 then tryed to install rc7.1.1 stuck on mytouch 3g screen
Tryed to use nana backup to cm 6.1 black screen with back light on so Im at a loss I guess I download cm 6.1 rom and try that or downgrade spl

Sorry dumb question
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA Premium App

If you can get back to the other spl and can boot I might have your fix

So Do I just do a diffrent spl then install new rom?

Wrong my bad
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA Premium App

My fault I was able to restore cm 6.1 with that new spl it took out the splash screen so I have cm 6.1 with new spl

If you have the mytouch 3g 1.2 (the one with the headphone jack) then you need a 32b kernel without the 2708 ramhack. And you should have the 1.33.0013 spl and a 2.xx radio. On the yoshi thread I think they have a link to a kernel for us.
And I would suggest using ezgingerbread or cos-ds instead. Ezginger is fast and light. Cos has cm stuff
Sent from my shad0w on Sapphire using XDA Premium App

I think there may be issues with the 7.1(shame as 7 is blinding), so I'm sticking with the excellent rc7 for the moment(severe case of if it ain't broke don't fix it!). I had the right radio etc and still got the half hour non boot, then fc after wizard set up, then blank screen.
As with the rest of ginger yoshi's, 2.22.27.08 or 2.22.28.05 radio and the 1.33.0013 or 1.33.0013d spl are mandatory for them to work.

Having the same problem on rc 7.1 && 7.1.1
Except I'm on a 32b SPL 1.33.0013d and I've tried both 27.08 and 28.25 S
Still stuck on Green Splash >______<"

[Q] Rom Question

im running my rooted mytouch 3g with currently cyanogen mod 5.8....which is android 2.1 update 1 i beleive....how do i run this or any other froyo roms....do i just flash it or do something else please help.....
orignialy i was using mytouch 3g running 1.6 then i did the one click rooting steps and works fine now im here...please help...thanks!!!
You should be able to download the ROM you want to use (make sure its compatible with your phone), copy the file (will be a .zip) to your SD card, go into recovery (home+power), select update from .zip, and then select the file from your SD card. Some of the older recoveries require that you rename the .zip file to update.zip before you can flash it.

Suggest amonra new recovery first off. There is a new radio 2.22.23.02 if its compatible with your spl. Then nandroid backup always. Then flash new Rom

Easy with flashing the radio, you could brick your phone that way. You shouldn't need to do anything but flash the ROM, unless you've got a board requiring the EBI1 kernel which should be available with the CM ROM. Go into fastboot using (power+back) and post that information here.

[Q] green tint after update CM 6.1.0 DS mytouch3g 32a

I did a update from CM 6.1.0 RC1 DS to CM 6.1.0 DS and my screen has a serious green tint mytouch3g 32a. Ialso did the same update to my mytouch 3g 32b and the screen is fine. Was wondering if there is any fix out there or if anyone else having the same probs?
Same problem here. Updated MyTouch 3g 32a and have a same problem. Green tint, wich starts at the Cyanogen boot screen. There is non on the MyTouch screen (the white letters are white). After that everything is greenish. Thought that render effect is on, but it is not. I updated rom through rom manager.
Anyone have any ideas?
After some hours of reinstalling the rom in various ways with no change. I started browsing the web for similar problems, and found something that might be helpful.
hxxp://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=2589
"Fix in few days."
Hope so.
I also have the same problem. Went from CM 6.1.0 RC1 DS to CM 6.1.0 DS and now I have the tint problem. I went back to RC1 and tint was gone. Installed CM 6.1.0 DS after wipe again and still have tint. I went through all the settings and couldn't find the problem.

Isn't pershoot 2.6.35.9 for 32b board and not for 32a?
I'd try installing it but I'm afraid of permanently damaging the phone. Not shure if that's posible with a kernel install, but I'm not wiling to risk it.

Just tried it and the device gets stuck on mytouch green loading screen. Had to get the batery out than boot into recovery. Than install the 6.1 ds rom. But it's kinda strange. The screen has a green tint only when looked at it directly. If I tilt it just a bit the picture is fine. Strage.

green tint
Idid find some workarounds but I also read that team douche does know about the orb and hopefully have a update to fix thescreen issue. I just am not sure where it will be posted? Yeah when youtilt the screen it does look OK.freaky. I just reflashed RC1-DS and am patiently waiting an update.
Check out the CyanogenMod forums. There's a post on the green tint problem, check out entry #6. It says it's for the MT3G original, but as you go further into it, it applies to th 1.2 version. I downloaded and used ezterry's kernel but pershoot's supposedly works, too.
I used the one for ebi0 - it says: EBI0 (32b) for 2.22.* radio users (thats the MT3G 1.2)
just stick with RC1. Ive been using it for awhile with no complaints whatsoever
I was able to fix the green tint by flashing from the droidbasement, but I lost my headphone jack
Anyone know a fix that resolves green tint W/O loss of headphone jack?
Ran into the same issue. Apparently they left something in the final release that they were using to test out 3D graphics, hence the reason the tint disappears if you tilt the phone. Easy fix.
Download one of the kernels below (grab the one for your phone) and flash from Recovery after flashing the CM 6.1 ZIP. If you've booted since flashing CM 6.1, you'll need to also wipe Dalvik-cache.
This one for 32B phones to include the myTouch 1.2.
This one for 32A phones. myTouch 1.2 users (3.5mm jack) use the 32B kernel.
Any problems, post here.

But when I first rooted everyone said its 32a dont flash anything for 32b or youll lose jack or brick. Confused as im sure many others are tons of info for g1, or regular mt3g just not 1.2

Yes. When i flashed CM I also got the green tint. So i just went back to 6.0 lol I started to panic.
Lol.. that's what everyone should do if they don't like green tint... lol unfortunately I can't help since I owned a 32b...
They have talked about 32a in cm nightly forum... all I know is if you flash the correct kernel... the green tint disappear.
32b is pershoot 2.6.35.9 extra ram... without 2708
32a - is one of eztery older kernel... Google cyanogen and enter nightly discussion... I'm not going back there... that thread is long lol
From my experience- the worst that can happen when flashing the wrong kernel is it wont go pass the boot screen... all I did then is remove battery... enter recovery and flash either nandroid or same rom you are using... you don't need to do any wiping if using same rom...
So it is scary at first but as long as you can boot into recovery u r fine...

Flashrec confusion

Apologies in advance if this issue has been raised elsewhere, but my search has proved fruitless. So here goes with my problem.....
I've followed the unlockr how to root procedure and clicked on the flashrec apk file. It then proceeds to tells me I have a 32A when I have the spec as below;
Sapphire pvt 32B ENG S-OFF
HBOOT - 1.33.2010(SAPP10000)
RADIO - 3.22.20.17
JUNE 2 2009 17:27:03
CPLD - 10
Could someone please explain what is going on and if I should be using the 6.2G or the 6.2H.
Cheers for any help.
Provide ALL fastboot info
Hi, is this what was missing CPLD -10?
Yes...
You have the 32B board... but using the 32A combo.
You should change the radio and leave the spl be.
Then flash a G version of the recovery..
Flash a 32B rom... and you should be on your way.
Download fastboot commander from my signature (not the magic version, it's for 32A).
Flash this radio: http://rapidshare.com/files/455782324/2.22.19.26I.img
And flash this recovery: http://rapidshare.com/files/387932919/recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G.img
Leave the spl/hboot as it is...
Reboot into recovery and flash a rom for the 32B board... find one in the development section.
Excellent advise - thanks very much for your very helpful and detailed reply.
The range of roms is so extensive I'm confused as to what to go for - if I may, is there one in particular you can recommend for stability/reliability?

Thanks for your reply, I actually flashed froyoredux 1.9.5 before I read it - how does this rom compare with your recommendation? I noticed quite a bit of lag, but that could well be down to my old magic!
Couldn't tell you. I never really got ROM happy since most that I tried ran like crap. CM 5.0.8 was about the best daily driver I could find.

I'm starting to see what you mean, things have got really slooooow on my phone. Quality always beats style.
Update: Did as you recommended and things are back to normal, good speed and stability, like old 1.5.
By the way, if I was to go for a rom such as ginger yoshi, would I need to change my radio once again to 2.22.28.25?
Changed the radio to 2.22.27.08 and tried a couple of more recent roms such as ginger yoshi and CyanogenMod 7 without success - at least I think they failed as the phone seemed stuck on the htc magic screen.(maybe I didn't wait long enough for it to boot up).
Am I doing something wrong or being simply impatient?
Mumilover,
Out of curiousity/stupidity (phones not valuable so can afford to take risks with it) and in pursuit of an almost totally 'force close free' phone I've changed the hboot to 1.33.0013d and the radio to 2.22.27.08.
I'm happy with the ability to flash more advanced roms, but not happy with the fact (didn't realise I'd turn my phone into a s-on!) that I've made your brilliant fastboot commander tool virtually redundant!
Is there another way to get back to the original set up? Hope you don't mind me asking by the way, as I know your advise was to leave the spl alone!
The first post on the ginger yoshi thread says you'll need to change you're radio to 2.22.28.25 or 27.08. Also, you'll need to change your SPL. (That is, if it hasn't changed from what it was according to your first post.) Hope this helped
update: scratch, that. apparently you've solved your problem already. sorry for not reading ahead >.<

Have you tried using a ROM that specifically states it has been ported for radio 2708? That is an absolute MUST, or it will not work. Look for any ROM that contains 2708 in its name...

thanks
Try this kernel, its the 3rd one. Though I dont know if it will work with a sense rom, cause to be honest sense roms are way too lagy... I use GingerYoshi, and its awesome!

if i am correct (which i may not be cuz i dont know much about 32a phones) then i think you have to flash an spl that goes with the 6.xx radios.
Yes I thought that as well but the thing is that I can't flash anything with in recovery because when boot my phone in recovery mode it reboots itself before a can do something. I tried to flash with fastboot but I could'nt ether because my magic is SHIP S-ON H and I need it to be S-OFF H to do that. Just in case I know that the "S" means security. Do you know how can get it be S-OFF instead of S-ON. If I can do that then I think I will be able to fix my phone. If not any other helpful info is welcomed.

I read that a 2gb sd card is needed for that. Is it true or I can do it with a 1gb sd as well?, because I used to have a 2gb sdcard but Is lost and I would have to buy a new one.

1 Gb is fine. Hell a 256 MB would work.

Hello, all. I'm sorry I write in this threat, but I have exactly same problem. I got the SPL to 1.33.2009 S-OFF from 1.33.0009 S-ON and when I tried to update the radio to 6.35 ( via the Radioswitcher tool )- it was successful, but can't boot. Nore fastboot or RadioSwitcher does the work ( phone goes into black screen ).
Wish you luck with our issue.
edit: I managed to flash the old image but now it's stuck on the "HTC MAGIC" logo, and still won't boot.
edit2: Got everything back, like before, but still can't boot. Have to mention that, when updated, I used the top options from the RS GUI, "Flash bundled Radio, SPL& Recovery" with checked "Erase system+userdata+cache" - is this, what I've done wrong ? If I understand correctly, a custom rom flash would fix the problem, because I've deleted the system, right ?
Thank's for your time.
Sorry grundio I whish I could help you but I do not have experience with 32a magics at all.but maybe the guy how is helping me can give you a hand as well. Let's wait for him to reply. Otherwise if you need some help with 32b devices I might be helpful.

Thank you, @gabriel.castro. Wish you luck .
Well, if we can go into fastboot- there is always hope. I think I accidently deleted my rom and flash would fix it, but I am hoping for a confirmation, to be sure.
I have a 32A. I'd say follow the instructions here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=HTC_Magic_(32A):_Rooting_(6.35.x_radio)
And once you get a working ROM booted up (Yoshi's, CM, etc), take it slow on upgrading again. Also, I don't personally trust apps like that, just do it the commandline way and it'll just work. Dunno, I just trust commands more xD.
sorry if i'm mistaken but i think that in order to this procedure to succeed my phone most be able to boot normally first. and that is my problem. i can't get it to boot normally. but thanks for your time anyway
