come on, give him a chance...
Mostly its enough to flash the right kernel after flashing your fav. rom.
You can try to flash tytung r9 kernel from here:
cLK_ppp_tytung_r9_update_v2.zip
but no guarantee

Unfortunately for me, my volume button is broken, and I am stuck with a cLK recovery... The only way for me to try out all these roms that are not cLK is by converting them or making them compatible to cLK....
If im asking something that has been answered before, then please point me in the right direction. Deleting my thread wont help me, or anyone else that has or might have down the line a similar problem...

If im not mistaken, the CWR rom that i wish to make to cLK, will have to be based on the tytung r9 kernel, and with the files from the link you gave me, I will have to put them in the cLK rom zip....

ok, but that link is the clk version of this kernel. Flash it just after your rom and reboot

hi guys got one of these phones and looking to convert it to android.
i used to have a zte blade which i used custom roms on.
having looked around on the net there appears to be a lot of threads and ways of doing it, through sd card and through the nand.
just a quick question what is the best way to convert ?
thanks in advance
nand.
you just need to install hspl, and magldr.
then, flash over clockwork mod to flash roms.
you can see it done on youtube.

'Is there a more stable ROM out there'
Read the ROM title, it's a BETA!! Of course there are more stable ROMs out there, this one isn't even for daily use (in my opinion). Firstly see this guide for how to flash, then as for ROMs you may want to try a CM7 ROM, these are fast and stable.
if you want safety (keep a warranty if you have one), ability to go back to winmo in a snap, and ease youre safest bet is SD rom!
if you are wanting to turn this bad boy into more of a NATIVE android/WP7 device get to flashing that NAND!
there are plenty of ROCK solid android roms available, however, ANY droid 4.x (ICS) roms at this point arent quite your solid everyday drivers. they (the AMAZING devs here) are still working out bugs with usb storage and camera conflicts. so if neither one of those are needed then go for it lol :-D
whatever method you choose (SD/NAND) I wish you good luck and a simple reminder ... READ, READ, READ!!!

Good choice of rom
You would have to flash a new Kernel which supports higher O/C frequencies. I personally haven't found much difference after doing this, but Dorimanx's Kernel supports up to 1.61GHz overclock
To flash, just enter CWM and flash .zip folder
thanks bud.
just installed the AmeriCanAndroid and all is well its a very snappy rom
but i cant get into cwm to do a backup ?
says its not there in ad recovery ?

Flash compatible radi => run task29 => flash MAGLDR => flash CWM => flash rom

I would recommend not doing that, as you may get into the habit of Task29ing too much. this could cause problems (search bad blocks on NAND) in future. You could probably get away with just reflashing CWM if you followed the rest of the steps correctly
First, I'm sorry about my bad English.
I had troble when I applied CM9 12/7 Rom, so I restored from clockworkmod recovery, but it doesn't work!
That's why I have been flashed SBFs till now.
And I could boot my defy, but I noticed that I applied some weird Rom.
It is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375701
....
What can I do?
I want to use CM7/MIUI or some other roms
Help me.
try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14762402&postcount=143
i didn't try it, just found it in the forum
im on the same boat.
did it work?
Look in the cm9 bug report thread I'm sure there are links and instructions for it. You have to flash cm7 kernel then do nandroid or reflash cm7.

I cant quiete figure out what you're trying to tell me Oo
so i guess you can downgrade from cm9 to ms2ginger but not to cm7? oO
im currentliy switching a lot between cm9 and cm7 so you should just go into cwm and wipe everything, install cm7 wipe again and thats it...
i dont know if you really have to wiupe twice, but thats the way i do it and it works perfectly

please post a link to the cm7 you were using. i'm thinking you used the wrong gapps. cm9's gapps doesn't work for cm7. you need to use the gapps for cm7. usually you can get cm7 gapps from the link in the first post of cm7 thread. like here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033654
go down to the bottom of the first post and click on "latest google apps".
Guys,
Due to the fact that I can't find the right way how to apply this I'm opening this thread. Personally I don't like to open threads but I think this could be usefull for other users.
So actually I'm facing the following problem.
I'm a big fan of this rom LeoRCMix S v.1.9
But there are still some things wich don't work properly like wifi/data switch and the glitches. A new kernel should fix this...
I don't know which kernel I will find out but.....
For example a kernel like this... TYTUNG_R14
I have to change the ... initrd.gz... how does this works and what are the actual steps to make? I flashed a lot of roms... but this is abracadabra for me
Is here someone who can help me out?
Thnx in advance grtz John

Yeah oke, that's not the point... flashing is daily bussines
But in the kernel threads they are warning that the initrd.gz.... is different and it wil not boot. So I have to change something with that initrd.gz...thing but I don't know what

Unzip the ROM you have then go to the boot folder. There will be a file called Initrd.gz. Copy it over and replace the initrd.gz of the Kernel you are trying to flash. By the way, I think that Tytung r14 is for CM7 and MIUI isn't it? Why not just use Marc1706's kernel for GB/Sense ROMs (stickied)?
Thans for your reply! This makes everything a more clear! I just suggested a kernel. Maybe the v6 kernel of sbryan could be a good one ;-)
I'll flash a few and test around.

flash same way as a rom through cwm
No problemo ;-)

There is a nativeSD version of 3.1.9 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1825321
which i suppose could be used to install to nand in aroma.
Do you mean 7.1A?
not sure if i have it.
I mean i need best kernel for this Rom from dorimanx. People said that kernel 7.1a is best version(better than 7.3).
Thanks for reply.
EDIT:
Everything is OK. ROM works fine!
Thanks !
