How complicated would be to create a Video Chat app? The app would be able to work with 3G/4G/Wifi
I know there is Yahoo Messenger w/Video and Tango already, but I still would like to develop my own.
Thanks
Does anyone know if there is a way to use the gmail video chat on the streak?
If you're talking about the yahoo one...its not working great yet as the front facing camera don't work.
Hi,
just tried my first android build on my HD2 (Darkstone superRAM). How can I link my own contact with my facebook account? I've got it managed with my friends contacts but. The thing is, I want to link my picture from the facebook account for the SMS application...
So can anyone help?
Don't think that's possible, try adding an image 'to you' on Google contacts. I was gonna try that myself but haven't really gotten around it yet. Please keep me posted.
tnx for reply... I will do that
This was discussed in a thread previously, where I explained the current situation.
Apparently, Google are aware that this has been requested, so we may see it in either an app or OS update. Fingers crossed!

So, here's what I've learned from reading here... am I right?
- Yahoo Messenger's video calling is horrible, don't even bother.
- Tango is great video but the audio sounds like crap
- Qik is the best all around but has issues.
I'll try them each to get my on opinions, but here's my problem. I login to a previously created Qik account, I'm connected. My wife, logs in for the first time to Qik on her mytouch, creates an account and sees me in her contacts as having a phone. I refresh a million times and don't see her.
I'm missing something right? Qik's website isn't much help.
Has anyone been able to do video chat via Google's Chat? I seem unable to do so, and I cannot find Talk in the Market ...although I don't know if it would support video on this tablet or not.

Click to collapse
Used it earlier today to talk with my brother in mexico, it worked exceedingly well.
iirc, it comes already installed.
Its a native google app, not a market app.
I couldnt get it to work intially but it turns out its tied to my google apps account for some reason. Once i signed out of the apps account and signed in with a regular gmail account it worked beautifully chatting with my girlfriend over 4g tethering on my Evo. I cant wait until someone gets 2.3.4 working on the Evo so we can have the android phone/chat functionality.
i've used it chatting with my wife, works well.
Argh...I thought I looked for Talk on it and didn't find it, but alas, it is there. ( I had to install it from market on my phone, so assumed I had to do the same thing here).
Sounds good. I presume this does work with Google Chat...so if someone is on their PC and Browser (not signed into Talk) it would work. Seems to me like at some point I had to join a Talk account with Google.
Thanks folks.
for tablet to pc video chat, the person on the pc needs to be in the browser (like a gmail window) and have the video plugin installed.
I use it with my Google Apps account no problem.
The sound quality from the other side isn't great... I don't know if Talk is crap, the other computer is crap, or the speakers on the TF are crap...
Nice to have video chat though, I just wish Samsung would release 2.3.4 for Galaxy S II

I was experimenting with this earlier today with a coworker that has an iphone 4g. I think vtok nuked some of the video quality but it worked.
