I recently noticed a much shorter battery life with the battery percentage in the notification bar turned on (18 hours compared to 36 with moderate use).
Has anyone else observed this?

Nope, no Problems over here...
Have you changed the update setting so It's not every hour?

Mine makes almost absolutely no impact at all. One of the lightest applications I have installed.
no change here (updating weather every 2 hours)
well I changed the setting to update every 2 hours and removed temperature notification in the top bar which seemed to have helped
Today after a 5 hr usage I checked my battery usage, with screen on full brightness, it was using 62% of the battery and I noticed swype was using 7%. Now this seems pretty high usage to me for a keyboard.
Is this usage normal or is it using too much? Also is 5 hours with screen on max, some data usage and music playing for about an hour, us this decent or is anyone getting better.
If so, what are you doing to keep the battery running longer

My Nexus 4 drains 10% overnight .
Wifi off
No missed calls
No messages
Mobile Data off
No LED notifications
Battery log
Screen 33%
Phone idle 17%
voice calls 13%
Mobile standby 12%
Android OS 6%
Android System 6%
Media Server 6%
i am in a good signal reception area
still it drains 10-12% overnight ... this is annoying 2 days back it used to be 8% drain with some notifications
can i reduce it somehow? any suggestions?
i left it at 92% at night and in morning it was 80%
I have a wifi only tablet .. i switch off wifi and it drops only 2% at night.
Get better battery stats and key in run overnight and check for wakelocks

Use greenify and turn off b/g data too.
Plug it in overnight. It will actually reverse battery drain.

I've plugged in my every phone I've owned nightly. I've never had a battery issue.

Keeping it plugged in does not affect the battery life. It has some minor battery degradation but not enough to worry about or even worth mentioning. The natural half-life of lithium polimer battery found in our Nexus 4 will end sooner than any degradation you will experience by keeping it charging overnight. By that time you'll want to replace it.

Battery Issue
Hello
I know there are many threads about battery life, but those threads did not help me. So my problem is fast battery drain, such as, when I'm checking ez pz rpg for like 5-7 mins the battery reduced by 5%-10% and the back of the phone is warm (like 35°C), when my battery was at 77% I started watching a video (2:45h length) and haven't finished cause for the last 20 mins of video battery went to 5%. I will add my battery is not draining when a screen is off, sometimes when a batter is lower than 100% it can self-charge like 1%-2%. I got that phone 10 days ago so still can send it back, but my question is if it is necessary or I can fix it somehow?

Any idea?

Faulty battery perhaps

Hmm... dunno then. Battery is ok while screen is off, battery is still at 100% after 6 hours of screen off.
For example my system is running 19h 52mins, Phone Radio ate 13% in 19h 50m 27s, screen 27% in 1h 7m 24s and the "ez pz rpg" ate 12% in 13mins its like 1% per 1 min ... i can show GSam Battery Monitor screens. There is a chance it is not a battery? Maybe cpu have to high timing, 4x 2,2GHz all the time while playing. Can it be?
Hey man.I have the same peoblem over here.Though i have done a lot system changing stuff on my precious lg i am pretty sure the problem is somewhere in the hardware.Did you somehow fix your problem?
How old are your LG G2?
After 3 years batteries usually reach their end the lifecycle.
