Anybody knows how to relocate dalvik-cache to /cache/dalvik-cache folder instead f /data/dalvik-cache? In the latest Mur4ik's ROM (v2.0M2) it seems that the dalvik-cache is in the data folder which unnecessarily consumes space. I found this tutorial but it didn't work. Any help please?

Hi,
I installed S2E and it has freed space by moving cache. When I unmount sdcard the phone stops working as if lost power. I need to replace battery and reboot. I suppose that some apps would need cache which causes this problem. any work around ?
Regards,
Miten.
There is no work around for that if you use s2e apps2sxt etc. I guess you could use terminal or adb and copy the files from the ext partition to your internal data, but that would be a hassle.
I will not recommend moving applications and private apps, just move dalvik cache and download cache. should solve ur problem.

I just updated to a new build, but when I try installing apps, it says out of space even though I have over 600MB internal and 2GB external. I think I have to delete some system files but am not sure
Installing or recovering thm via Titanium?
Installing with the apk, right after the boot up.
Are the over 600MB internal the free or the total space?
That's the free
Try wiping cache and dalvik cache.

@Keghan
the solutions could be:
unmount and remount the cache and data directory
fix permissions
wipe the cache and the dalvik-cache
clear the data of the playstore

Is it also true that you can remove the odex files for that particular app in /data? I remember seeing something about that in the recent posts for the Epsylon3 ICS Dev thread.
I scanned through the Dev forum and found out that by
Deleting the tombstone folder in Data and
deleting the odex of that file in data/app folder works
Hello everybody. I have BIG problem with a2sd.
I have haldric Sensation ROM with marc 0.2.3 kernel and A2SD.
I've installed only about 15 apps and after about 4 month of using this ROM i get low memory notification.
I check system information in A2SDGUI:
Internal: 2MB free (183 MB total)
SD-ext: 1435 MB free (2015 MB total)
cache: 2MB free (183 MB total)
So now i cant use music player, gallery app etc.
In my sd-ext/app i found something strange.
Inside app folder are .apk files and app folder, and in this app folder are the same apk files and app folder. So i have extreme big sd-ext/app folder...
Please help me. I check a lot of threads but nothing works.
you can try to move dalvik cache to sd-ext. And you can solve the problem

I have cache on sd-ext...
install other rom with mounts2sd script
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661892 this works very well for me.
you need to edit script to move /data/data to sd-ext also if dalvik-cache is already moved (which I assume it is judging from the percentage sd-ext is used.
edit: if you decide to flash another a2sd script, remember to delete the original script or they will have conflict and may cause bootloop.
Dear all,
I tried to use link2sd on my S6102, so first I rooted it using this tutorial (which is linked in the link2sd tutorial):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611830
After applying update.zip, link2sd reports 0.00b on /system, thus the error message when starting link2sd:
"Mount script cannot be created. write: No space left on device.
Before applying update.zip, it was 1.4Mb in /system.
What does it mean? Did I do anything wrong?
BTW in this state, I tried to install the 15toggles package, which resulted in boot loop - had to restore nandroid backup via cwm. Maybe the same reason?
Thanks a lot!
To create a mount script you need a 2nd ext partition on your sd card - nothing to do with /system although you do need space there to place the script which I think is your problem
if you have got /system problems wipe Dalvik cache in cwm
if you still have problems You will have to wipe system & data and install a custom rom that is pre rooted
Yes 2nd partition is there and yes I think it is the script itself which doesn't fit in /system
Wiping dalvik cache did not change anything...
Maybe I can find another root "package" and try with that...
