I'm going in a trip to Austria where we have only an internet cable to connect a laptop and we are 5 boys!
I want to connect my HTC HD2 to a laptop that have internet connection and share internet via wireless to other pc's !it is possible?
I know that hd2 can share his data internet connection but because it's very expensive and I have only 350 mb per month ,I prefer to share the internet connection from home!Please tell me that it is possible !!thank you
dont think it is possible, the wifi sharing only shares the mobile data connection
you need a wifi router for what you want to do

I found a lot of programs to share the gprs conection via wifi (converting the hd on a hotspot) but I want to share not a gprs conection ,just the internet I get via usb activesync... I was not able to make this happen with any know program.
Someone know how this can be done?
"wmwifirouter" require a conection to be dialed/conected and don't take into account activesync one.
So in short you want to use your phone as a Wireless Access Point when connected to and accessing the Internet through the USB port of the computer?
I don't think it can be done, I don't think you can have WiFi and USB on at the same time.
EDIT: Just checked and it seems you can have both at the same time.
if u want to use the internet connection of your pc via wifi, u need no programs but i only have to configure properly the wifi network card on htc and enabling internet sharing on pc's wifi connection
Mustn't you rather activate the internet sharing on the phone ?
I am with the provider Orange in France.... and the internet sharing is normally forbidden. I would like to use the phone as a wifi access point without the usb.
Can Orange see that I have activated that internet sharing ?
I would also like to do this! Particularly at work. I can connect my phone to my work computer via activesync and check email etc. It would be great to be able to share this connection with my laptop via the "wm wifirouter" or another app. Please let us know if you discover a solution - I will also investigate.

I am sorry if this is discussed but I didn't find the answer and kindly ask for someone to help. My WIFI adapter on the tablet PC died and I don't have an internet plan from my cellphone provider so I would just like to use the WIFI connection to internet on my phone to connect to internet on the tablet PC. Please help! Thank You!

I would like to connect my computer to internet, which has got no wifi, with internet sharing of my HD2 (with usb or PAN BT), but there is only "3G" as active connexion, no wifi...

a bit late, not normally on here (i am a kaiser man) but you need wmwifirouter http://www.wmwifirouter.com/ - cn connect any way you want
wireless packed up for a while on my lappy and i did just what you want to do.
My PC's wireless card has broke. I would like to connect the HTC to the PC via USB and use internet connection sharing, to share the phone's WiFi connection. NOT 3G.
The option isnt there to share the wireless connection, only the 3g, which I dont want to do as it's expensive. There is wireless in my home.
Does anyone know how to do this?

If i connect my htc hd2 to my laptop via USB... will i have internet?
im in prepaid mode and when i try to join to my facebook without connecting my cellphone i cant open the facebook... but when i connect it to my laptop via USB i can join to everything...

It's called tethering. It shares your phones internet with your computer/shares your computers internet with your phone.
so if i normally dont have internet on my phone.. but then i connect it to my laptop i will have internet on it?
Yes, but only if your laptop already has some kind of internet connection such as WiFi.

I think there is some misleading information here:
Tethering is when you're accessing the internet on your PC using the HD2 internet connection and your HD2 data plan.
I think he is doing the opposite. He is being able to access the internet on his HD2 only when he is connected to his PC and is using the PC's internet connection. I think he does not have a data plan for his HD2 because he is on a pre-paid account.
Somebody correct me if this is totally wrong.
