I scoured google and the forums for a problem similar to mine, and so far, not a single thing Iv'e tried has helped (and I've been trying stuff for ~4 hours now).
After getting my SGS back from the repair shop (for the second time), I took it home, rooted it, and loaded Darky's and SpeedMod on. When I rebooted my phone, the initial SGS screen (with all the writing) froze for ~2 mins, then proceeded onto the "Big S" screen. Once there, it froze, doing it's shimmering thing for ~5 mins, and FINALLY loaded up. Initially launcher refused to open, so I was left with a blank screen with a little status bar at the top. Once it loaded, the phone became so slow that it took at least a min to start any app.
I restarted the phone (seems to help half the time), and same story, so I booted into recovery and was greeted by a blue "2e" menu, not the green CWM menu that SHOULD have shown up, and had shown up only minutes before. (I have SpeedMod CWM).
I reflashed the SpeedMod Kernel, and rebooted my phone. This time, the phone booted up far faster than it had before. I went into the "My Files" app to make sure I remembered to load backups back on, and I get a "No SD Card Inserted". I went into "setting>sd card and phone storage", and both the internal and external sd cards are listed as having an "Unavailable" total and available space value. I tried pressing mount on both ext and int, but it just sits there and doesn't ever actually do anything. (Same story for the format options). I searched around, and tried a few solutions (Tbh, probably couldnt tell you everything that I did). The last thing I tried was repartioning the internal storage. Long story short, lots of steps, but it didn't work.
Im still able to use the phone to make calls and text and everything, its just the internal and external storages that I can't use. As of right now, under the "Sd Card and Phone Storage" screen, all the values are "Unavailable", with the exception of the phone storage, which reads "0.00B".
Note: If I put the SD's into my computer, they're fully read/writable.
2nd Note: Sorry if this really just is a manifestation of the "standard SGS problem". Didn't read of anyone with quite the same problem though.
Thanks. Really don't want to have to ship my phone off for another 2 months, for the 3rd time. :/
Edit: Tried opening the camera app, and I got a Toast: "Turn off USB Storage before using camera"
Looks like it's a ROM problem. Did you try flashing a clean stock ROM insted of just flashing the kernel of a Custom one?

UGH! phone boots and works but i get "Sorry! The application has stoped unexpectedly"
bone stock 19000m with JH2(before 3button fix ). A few apps installed, (now gone after managing to enter the reset code in the dialer) and it doesnt load any of them. Even the ones in the phone itself (such as youtube). The only one that seems to work is dialer (which closes if i try to call) and calendar. I get no signal, taking out sim and rebooting does nothing. As well when connected to usb, it is not detected by kies but I can access it through the windows explorer.
GUYS WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO MY PHONE! this is way to random, im getting seriously frustrated with android... the only thing i can think of is it has a virus.
I came from a htc diamond, and i was good at tinkering, but everything ive done to try and get the phone back to working normally has failed... any suggestions?
edit: also i noticed when i got to settings>applications>manage applications> EVERYTHING in this list is 0.00B (meaning it isnt taking up any space)
re-install jh2.. or try full reset from recovery menu or settings in phone.
my phone is not rooted and my phone is stock, with jh2 ( i updated a few weeks ago when it first came out officialy on kies). MY phone is not modded. And last but not least, my phone is one of the ones that doesnt go into recovery menu. basically, i dont know how/cant to reinstall JH2.
I typed *2767*3855# into dialer... it went through, seemed to work when i opened it in windows esxplorer but the phone isnt gully wiped as settings are still intact on the phone Edit: when doing this, it crashes at the part factory data reset you guessed it: "sorry the application settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly."
after further observation it seems like the phone memory is corrupted somehow, hence the main settings (like wallpaper, and widgets that dont work are in their place). I am very frustrated, im about to call bell to get this thing sent to samsung.
alright XDA, you have 10 minutes before i send the phone to bell, put your thinking caps on right now if you want to save me 6 weeks of using my old crappy htc diamond.

My MoviNand chip failed on my Bell i9000m as I`ve referenced in other posts. My phone was flashed many times and eventually it failed. It wasn`t from the flashed, after having some help from someone much more knowledgable then myself it was determined the phone would have died anyway.
When the Chip started to die my Internal SD couldnt be read and my external was pretty much useless. I could still boot the OS and make calls, but no apps.
The phone would say "Internal Sd card removed" upon boot, then "External SD card can not be mounted" in the status bar after boot.
We tried many things such as partitioning and other things, and even though the memory looked fine, the kernel would not let it pass checks upon boot.
With my lack of experience I would suspect there will be a lot more posts like this as more people receive their bell i9000m phones.
My second one is a day old and after heavy use (no modification) it is starting to show early signs of the symptom that resulted in my phone dying.
I have another of the exact same phone in my household and it has minor force close and reboot issues also but not to the point of memory corruption.
Hopefully you are before your 30 warranty if you haven't taken it back already. If its before 30 days you get a replacement from the store. If its after you get to wait for them to send it to samsung.
Okay, so yesterday I was out with friends and my battery was low. When I had to use my phone, shortly after the battery died.I came home, started charging it and when it had about 20% i turned it on.Ever since that, my phone is constantly switchung between my lockscreen and stock homescreen, with me not being able to do anything(go to the settings or something like that). So I hard reset the phone and when it booted up and I was going through the basics, one message popped up every few seconds: "The UI has stopped working." So it was difficult to go through all that stuff, but I made it only to see the problem is still the same.I also tried to take it apart and blow the dust off the MB hoping it would work, but unsuccesfully.I also have to mention the screen is cracked very bad and you can see inside the phone down where the LG logo is, but the phone was working absolutely fine in that state for over a year.Any help? :crying:
I'm guessing that you didn't have a lot of storage left on your phone, right ? A similar thing once happened to me, rebooted while storage was completely full. Refused to work until I reflashed it.

So I should do a CSE flash, right?I'm flashing my phone for the first time now and waiting to complete the download of the .kdz file(slow internet )
Hello, so i've had this Note 4 for about 2 years, i had no problems with it thus far until recently ( 3 hours ago actually) i was just texting and browsing Instagram and out of no where the screen froze, it became unresponsive and the screen went black and started constantly vibrating so i quickly pulled the battery out and put it back in again, tried to start it again and it got stuck on the Samsung logo, i went for recovery mode and tried to look up latest cashe log and it froze right there too and restarted, pulled battery out and in again, tried to get into Recovery mode for a second time and a dm-verity verification failed error on the lower left corner popped up, i selected "Restart phone" and it got stuck on the Samsung logo again, battery in-out, tried to get into Recovery mode for a third time to do a factory reset but this time it got stuck whilst trying to boot onto recovery, and i had to out-in battery again, tried several times to get into recovery and it didn't work, i just gave up and started searching, then after 14 minutes i decide to give it another try and it normally booted up! i inserted in my PIN and browsed the apps for about 2mins but it froze, again, and the whole cycle kept repeating i let it cool down for 15mins and it boots up normally but freezes again after a few minutes of usage, i noticed that it insanely overheats before freezing (especially right above the SIM card area) and the four CPU cores are showing 2469MHz and on 100% (But that's also the case when the phone just boots up right?), Now i basically can't access recovery mode and i'm stuck with a Freeze-Reboot looped and i'm left with no other option but a full Stock ROM flash, the thing is i can't even get into recovery to do a full wipe before flashing in the ROM, can i just flash in again a TWRP recovery? and is there any way to fix this without having to do a full Stock ROM flash (i Tried the wake lock app it didn't work) and i'm on Android 5.0.1, this has JUST happened today and never before. i'm hoping this isn't a hardware issue.
UPDATE: i have just noticed something rather interesting, the phone immediately freezes and goes nuts with the reboots and failed recovery modes instantly after i connect it to a wifi network, and exactly when it's attempting to "send report", a sending report sign shows up in the notification bar and it immediately screws up the phone until i do another Factory reset, i just did another one without connecting to a wifi network and i've already gone 40mins with it without any issues but perhaps it's just because it's not on heavy usage?
Sounds like you have the eMMC issue.
You can try and reflash with Odin. Get the right version from Sammobile.
Do yu get to download mode in any of the scenarios you describe?
Try WakeLock again and select the level to 4
Having the same issue
I'm having the same issue and don't have any idea how to help, just hoping someone out there knows...:crying:

If you have the Snapdragon version - it's highly possible to have the emmc problem. Which is a bummer and the phone is like dead.
Unless you can buy another 910C motherboard and swap it.
Sorry.
What is short name for emmc?

Just been having a very similar problem. I posted this elsewhere, but it may be helpful:
"My issue was that I needed to recover data, docs, photos, phone numbers etc. When boot looping the note 4 got very hot . In particular around and to the left of the camera (looking at the rear). Thinking it could possibly be the dreaded eMMC problem which also manifests itself by creating heat, I thought cooling the device might help. I placed the Note on a cooler box freezing block and voilĂ ! No boot loop. I was able to remove all, but necessary apps and do a full copy to my PC. Storage was reduced from around 90% to 50% and memory 80% to 60%. It's now been stable for 12 hours, but the jury is still out. Next will be full reset with he latest available firmware 6.0.1 as mine was still on 5.1.1."
Also now downloaded a eMMC bug check that says my eMMC chip is 'sane'. Guess we'll see
Hello guys,
you will find a detailed description of the encountered problems in the following lines:
1. DESCRIPTION
As stated above, my phone (randomly and not connected to any situation like hot temperatures etc.) won't load specific apps like WhatsApp, Netflix and my contacts. (While you try to open the application you will see the loading screen/splash screen of that specific app forever.) Furthermore, the phone won't shut down if one is pressing the "Restart-" or "Power-Off-Button". It will stuck at a loading screen (a blue animated circle [-progressbar], that shows the phone is about to shut down), which normally takes less than a second but in this case would take forever. (I've waited at least 5 minutes.)
Like I already said, the stated problem pop's up randomly and that's how it disappears too.
I know one significant (hardware-)change I did before the problem appeared:
I converted an SD-Card (SanDisk Extreme Plus 128 GB microSDXC which can read/write up to 100MB/s of data, that should be enough for the phone to function properly) to an internal storage with the help of the ADB-shell and the commands
Code:
adb shell
adb partition disk <Sd-Card ID> <Percentage>
2. INFERENCES
This worked fine and new apps do moved to the SD-Card, but I noticed that after rebooting, Netflix, WhatsApp and one other application I don't really remember showed an animation that will only be visible when a new app is installed and was never used before. The latter factor implements, that those app-paths somehow changed (maybe external -> internal -> external) and that's how the "new installation" happened. (I'm not really into android development, so please don't mind to tell me that this is complete nonsense. )
2.1 EDIT: After the last shut down and reboot, old emails that I've never read, popped up on my notification screen. (I can't explain this one.)
2.2 EDIT2: As of today, my mobile phone can't identify the SD-Card and throws error messages about my missing SD-Card. Because of that, my storage is full and I can't enter any application except Settings, Chrome and any other browser. I guess that was one of the causes that apps won't load in the last days but the phone kept identifying the SD-Card after a random time period,
this would explain why the problem would also disappear.
3. SOLUTION
I couldn't create a solution (that is working) out of this and that's why I'm here to get help from you guys!
Best regards,
sHootR'
Hello all,
I have a Moto Z Force Droid (XT1650-02). It's running on Android version 8.0.0, and build number OCLS27.76-69-6. It was acquired from Verizon. It is not rooted (sadly), and the bootloader is locked. It has 32GB of internal storage, however, I added an SDCard(64GB) to increase that storage space.
I'm having some problem(s) with my SDCard, or more so its usage as adopted storage. I've had the phone with the storage for quite a while and everything has been fine. However, 3-4 days ago was when the issues started. One night, my phone was acting really laggy. Which I just chalked up to tech being tech. I let it sit for a bit, tried rebooting it, etc. Well, as time progresses it seems to me that Facebook Messenger is what's slowing it down. So, I try uninstalling it. Of course, this isn't working and android just keeps giving me a helpful little notification that the app is uninstalling (for much longer than it *should* take). I figured I'd reboot into safe mode and try uninstalling it from there. The phone powers off and reboots fine. However, when I tried to unlock the screen, the entire phone froze and crashed after a minute or two. Once it reboots, it gets stuck in the bootloader (or, more specifically, where it says "DROID" and there are little shiny spots moving around the letters). So I used the power button to force the device off and try rebooting again. Again, boots up fine but it freezes at unlock and the cycle starts again.
Around 2 days ago I took it to a Verizon store. Originally I was just told I was going to have to factory reset (which I didn't want to because all the pictures I have and such would be lost. Apps are backed up by Google though). They told me to take out the SDCard, to help save what I could. Then, I got the bright idea to try booting without the card. This time the phone booted fine and unlocked like it should (the only problem now is that I had no internal storage and all the apps that were on the SDCard aren't loading since no SDCard).
When I leave the phone on and install the SDCard, I can browse the internal storage again. However, I can't see any of the files when I try transferring them to PC over USB. As well, after a while of using the phone, or even letting it idle, it will eventually crash and go back to the above botting and not-unlocking scenarios.
Based on how/when the problem started, and the logcats I've grabbed as the phone was crashing, I have reason to believe it has something to do with Facebook Messenger not being removed correctly. [Logcats in the comment below.]
Any help would be greatly appreciated. As well, please tell me if there's anything that needs clarification. (Sorry for the wall of text. I just don't know what else to do at the moment.)
