I was able to install ROM without issues. The "R" icon is displayed and under the About phone, network option, roaming is now indicated. What settings will stop the roaming? I did compare settings with stock aria setup and liberated_aria_FR006_signed ROM and the settings are the same but not the results. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Are you saying that before this you weren't roaming? The only way to disable roaming so to speak is to move to an area where you have coverage

Roaming issue
yeah, the "R" was not there prior to installing this ROM. I restored the nandroid original rom using clockwork and then re-installed this rom via clockwork and the "R" activates as soon as the phone boots into the new rom.

Roam'n issue
I just installed cyanogenmod 6.0.2.1 and gapps. The "R" also shows up in this ROM and it also indicates roaming in the "About phone" option. What is odd is that the stock rom never indicated "R" or roaming...so...what...the...fudge...
the big question then is, are you roaming?
Do you remember what network your are connected before? If you are roaming, the network name should be changed, it should show in lock screen and status bar.
Maybe your phone network is not in the config file?
The real question is, why was a new thread created for this and not just posted in the existing liberated fr thread...

Now that is a good question. It probably deserves to be asked in a new thread. I'm serious why not everyone else are adding threads for just stupid questions. Why not open a new thread for a very important one?

AT&T, and that is what is displayed on the lock screen, dunno which status bar you mean, still getting used to this mod. What config file do you mean?

First off thanks to the people who suggested the gfree way it work perfectly second Imma a gamer I like to play a lot of hd games and emulators on my touch what I want to know is which kernel is the best for this and for overlooking second how do I flash a kernel /Rom and when I flash will I have to delete my data like apps games contacts and such sorry for all the questions haven't done this stuff yet very egared by the way
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
When you flash its just like your getting a new phone and signing in all over again. For gaming you might want to check out asop rom like royal ginger for the speed and the kernel that's built in.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Make sure to read the first few posts in the rom and kernel threads-most will give explicit instructions on what you need to wipe through clockwork mod and how to do so. Most also will state the initial boot time to take awhile, so make sure to let it sit and do its thing. As far as backing up data, I prefer my backup root but titanium has its benefits as well. I recommend only backing up app data that you need, like games, etc. to conserve space on your sd card. Then like stated above, you will have to set the phone back up like when you first got it and then restore your apps/data...
Ok so any saved games like assassins creed or mobile combat will yo progress in that game be saved or will u have to start over*

Oh really thank u very much & also can I just flash a kernel for overclocking I very pleased wit my go launcher HD IOS theme an others
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Yes, just make sure the kernel states it its for your specific rom-i.e. don't flash a cm kernel to a sense rom and vise versa...try to read through the posts in the thread (or search the thread) if you are unsure. Just make sure to follow the op instructions to a t.
Thanks for the info can u give me any recommendation / links

You have rooted stock mysense 2.2.1 correct? Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941141&highlight=Sense+kernel
Again, make sure you read the op a few times so you have instructions down. Also, when you download the kernel, make sure the file size matches the size stated on the download page...occasionally you get a bad download and when you try to flash, it says aborted or something...
And just to be safe...download rom manager from the market, open it (allow su access), at the very top, press "flash clockwork mod recovery-once that is done, right below it says "reboot into recovery", press that...you will now be rebooted into recovery where you should flash your kernel and rom zips from at all times to help eliminate issues. Once you are in recovery, make a backup (usually called a nandroid)! It is always recommended before flashing anything to make/have a backup just in case something goes wrong. After that, just folklore whatever instructions were listed in the op and enjoy!
Yes I have root mysense 2.2.1 lol I read the op still nervous I download Rom manager yesterday and install clock thingy (forgot name ) ok lol anyways I was a little confused when reading not about what to do but which version to download ?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Also when I flash the kernel all data will be deleted like when flashing a Rom so back up wit Titb ? An I was thinking if all data is deleted wouldn't the back up data be deleted as well or is that on the SD card ?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
If you want better battery, go with cfs-better performance go with bfs. As far as voltage, try the lv kernel first and if you run into some issues, then go with stock voltage. As far as data, when you flash a kernel, you are just wiping cache and dalvik cache-not your data. You are just replacing a piece in a puzzle so to speak and not the whole thing (if that makes sense). Anytime you are flashing things, you should have a backup made just in case, but your data should be ok...
Um I still don kno which one to chose . Which one u think I will prefer u kno what I use my phone for 80% gaming / 10% textin / 10 % internet surfing
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Try the bfs low voltage....if things aren't silky smooth, than use stock voltage. You can get set cpu from the xda forum-just do a search for it or you can but it in the market which is what I did-this will allow you to over clock or under clock and you probably want to use performance scaling (governor) when gaming or just set the scaling to on demand-you will have to play with it to figure out what works best for you. Just make sure you hit menu> device selection> auto detect after you install the kernel....
I have set CPU all ready Um by accident I downloaded this app called tasker every heard of it how to use it for best performance or is that what its used for

Hello!
I recently rooted my Desire Z because of the sense restarting issue on the official gb rom. Started off ok with Virtuous Sense but it started randomly restarting the phone quite often - a few times a day. Tried fresh wipe with no apps, no luck. So installed old official 1.84 Froyo (not greedy, just want a working phone with Sense) rooted by rmk. I still get the same problem.
Pretty much ruled out a rogue app.
Can anyone suggest anything?
Thanks in advance.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
So it's the whole phone restarting ? Could be a loose battery. Try wedging a little bit of paper (perhaps folded a few times ) in between the top end of the battery and the case, to try and make sure it keeps contact.
Sent from my Desire Z running CM7.
Thanks for the reply. The battery seems tight and it's only started happening since I rooted though.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I had this happen every day before I rooted. It has happened after from time to time but mostly on Sense-based ROMs.
I don't know if it's coincidental but at least for me on MIUI and CM it seems to happen less frequently (maybe once every second week).
hey bro that used to happen to me alot too
in my experience it only happened to me on the original rom and on cyanogen 7 rom. try the wiping everything and using different type of rom like maybe miui or something that is not sense to see if it helps.
hope i could help
Thanks for the replies. Have done a clean wipe of virtuous sense and it has yet to restart. If it does, I will take your suggestions and try a completely different Rom - though I will miss friendstream!

Nope. Keeps happening. Gonna try miui but surely there must be something I'm doing wrong here. Open clockwork, choose Rom and select clear data, cache and davik. Anything else required?

you first flash the rom and then wipe data, cache & dalvik?
...i would suggest to wipe before you flash the rom
and you could also use superwipe (flash it through recovery):

In Clockwork, you make the selection to flash the ROM, then it asks if you want to wipe. But the wipe actually does occur before the ROM flash. That is what the OP is talking about.

ah ok... so he doesn´t boot into recovery and wipes manually sry for misunderstanding, but superwipe is a good idea anyway....
Thanks for replies. Yes, wipe takes place before rom install. Installed miui.us. Very nice, but same problem. There must be something I've done. Anybody any ideas?

Set your APN for simple mean what?I think this could not be an APN issue, because if i have entered wrong APN settings,i will not able to get connect to intenet.I can surf internet,no.Problem is it is extremely slower on every ICS ROM i flashed...Ah.My carrier is Airtel.

I have also simple mobile and having same problems, can you please, post what you did to fixed, or at least point me on the right direction. thanks
I use this and it has fixed my data speed every time.
1. Download the 3g turbocharger from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=979490&d=1333415041
2. If you don't have script manager, get it from the play store.
3. Navigate to the 3g turbocharger download.
4. Click it and select run as root (icon is the superuser logo)
5. Run the script and select your speed settings. Reboot twice to ensure the build.prop tweak works.
6. Verify your data speeds with speed test and test each setting to find fastest speed.
Hope this helps you as well.

So, I'm not sure of the culprit yet, but I enabled
all of the Init.d tweaks
all of the build.prop tweaks
Enabled some of the "features" (Enable hardware video acceleration, Disable Android logger, JIT for dalvik, disable usage-sending)
tweaked the Multitasking settings (Medium, Medium, 128, yes, yes)
Replaced GPS file
Enabled all Speed & Stability Settings
Now my device wont boot. Not sure if it matters, but I had flashed the new gapps in the same CWM session. If I figure out the offending tweak, I'll let you know. My boot posts with the splash screen and the loading bar, and never reaches my boot animation and hangs on a black screen with softkeys & keyboard lit (when slid out).
I'm running CM10 Nightly 1010 with NexusModemAIO patch & didhy's nitest kernel.
Installed and went through fine. But didn't install the Sony Walkman app or stay awake. Have tried installing the Walkman app through root explorer didn't work that way either. Is it just something to do with cm10? Running cm10 nightly 1014

Just did a few tweaks, WiFi , touchscreen, battery. The battery hasn't changed any was at 100% before and after I rebooted was at 35% and drained ridiculously. I tried touchwiz gb but not cm7 yet and I can confirm the wifi tweak doesn't work and another big big thing is wipe dalvic cache and all the cache. My rom has random reboots after I used this, it sucks in my opinion, only think that might have improved is the wifi/data tweaks. Battery life is the same, i didn't even mess with ram or kernel, everything was running fine, I was dumb to install it in the first place, but I hope others have improved performance with it.
