Revoked for HTC Magic G1 - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Please help!!!
I am so desperate to carefully root my HTC Magic and as i've thoughly researched to which methods i can use, i managed to come across Revoked. I've read more about this software and people have had good results. However i would like to use this too, but on the main website, which category do i use that can be suitable for rooting my HTC Magic?

Use SuperOneClick instead.

Is this true ????

You should probably use the search function.
Currently, the NAND is locked, preventing permanent read/write functions from what I understand.
No, there's already a thread on this...
check the development section. devs are working on it. they seem to be confident that it will get rooted
Well, we don't know if its true. If we knew, I'm sure people would have mentioned it by now.
Just give it time, I'm sure root will come soon enough. Let The masters on this board work their magic.

one of the reason we advise new people to use search is because it's faster for them to find answers than waiting for them. and because not using search means more junk threads in the search results for people who use it.
this was posted not long ago and it's still in the first page so you could've spotted it without even using search:

In XDA community you're always welcome to join ongoing conversation, so you don't need to start a new one
my magic crystal ball tells me we're about to see history repeat itself with the over-repeated epic-fail questions like:
1. can the HD2 run iOS?
2. can the HD2 run WM7?
3. can the HD2 run Android?
and so on...man there were a ton of those threads back in the day...
I don't know why people are asking anymore, don't they see that hd2 can run every lightweight operating systems? In every case it's just a matter of time ;-)

How can i port an existing rom?
That's a very broad question..what device was this originally from? what version/flavor of android is this? Etc.

Yeah Nicgraner is right. We need more info to help. Some phones port well to others with little difficulty. Others, not so much.
Google "dsixda rom kitchen"
What you learn may be helpful.

Well first thank you guys a lot for getting interested in helping me. i know a little bit in basics like rooting and flashing roms but i wanted to know more about how can i make my own rom or at least try to troubleshoot any cooked rom.
Get familiar with logcat, to begin with.
Get familiar with smali/baksmali, decompiling and recompiling Java apps, and Java code for Android in general.
It'll get you half way there.

[Q] back to stock

Sorry if this been ask before. Broke up with the girlfriend and now I need to bring her phone to stock and I refuse to continue to be her tech support lol. on the HTC Evo you can easily do that with a ruu, I don't seem to find any here for this phone. our at least I can't find it. Can anyone guide me in the right direction?
Water damage or tell her to piss off. No balls. Exes are exes for a reason.

Check out the guides in the Dev section. Basically, flash the stock P15IMG.zip, then unroot and S-ON.

Special Thanks!

I wanted to thank XDA and all devs for their hard work. I am a libertarian and you definitely gave me freedom for my phone. Dont know which thread this would go under, but again thanks for making this site and just want to say, HTC HD2 > all, and GO PATRIOTS!
