Xoom / Android Bridge? like bb playbook bridge? - Xoom General

Does anyone here know of an app that is similar to the playbook's bridge app?
So that one could pair their Android based phone to there honeycomb tablet and bridge sms / calls / internet / notifications?
I've seen WebOS's previews and they seem excellent.
I've seen Blackberry's Playbook and the Bridge features.
Will Google respond with there own?
Thanks!

Nope. This doesn't exist. Especially down to the level that RIM and WebOS does it.

I sure hope so, the HP stuff looks amazing! I'm hoping ice cream will give us that, they have been saying its supposed to bring the two form factors closer together. Having it right now would be amazing though

Personally I felt that bb bridge thing is a complete joke.. way tooooo slow in type response to work on my corporate bold 9650... no go

slow in what way? do u mean that ur just faster on ur bb kb? or do u mean the software is laggy?

I meant the time to load an email on playbook using bridge,
the time to type a character and see the feedback on the screen,
the time to reply an email as a whole task,
and the time to load attachments..
Browser just crashed in bridge mode, calendar is also VERY slow to load my full day of schedules from bb bold to playbook...

I prefer using Google services the way they are and have chrome to phone fill in the blanks.

Chrome to Phone is nice. But I wish there was a "Phone to Chrome" feature to take it back to my computer. I like how firefox will manage open tabs between machines etc.

You might want to look at android2cloud then, it might be what you are looking for.

I really hope so this is exactly what I Wanted from a tablet / phone experience. Literally the only thing attractive bout the hp touchpad

Ibis Browser - Claims 5x Faster Than PIE

Interesting. I am checking it out now. I don't know if I see 5x speed increase over PIE, but that may come with caching over time.

Working great on TYTN II...

You've gotta be @#$king kidding me.
C++? Nobody does assembler anymore?
seems like opera mini, but based in c++.
doesn't specify if it supports tabbed browsing.
Edit: take a look at the large image on the left, theres an option to "open in new tab"

Just used it for a bit and wow. Make sure and turn off ftouchflo because it has its own finger scrolling and it is very good imo.
I would never pay 3 bucks a month to use it, but I would definitely pay a little and use it.
It seems much faster than IE to me, this one gets the info, then loads the page. IE takes a long time and scrolling is slow.
ibisBrowser Not Secure
From their website:
"When you access to the pages using SSL, the communication between the ibisBrowser server and the target site is encrypted by SSL. The communication between your mobile phone and the ibisBrowser server is, however, not encrypted."
I think that I'll pass.

Have you ever written in assembly before? It sucks. balls.
Besides, any good compiler these days can compile code that rivals even the most experienced assembly programmer.

Ok, good point. But in terms of airplay on the Radio(both OTA and Satallite), Soulja Boy is absolutely crushing everyone else. And T-Pain is playing the Lil' Wayne card in having a spot in just about every rap out there right now.

In the forum over at hardwarezone.com.sg they have shown a couple of screens but also talk of problems in how to carry out a screen grab.
I thought Touchwiz could do this using the hardware buttons.
I have a note (got it from somewhere) that says:-
"While using the device, you can capture an image of a screen. While pressing and holding Back, press the Home key. The image will be saved in Gallery."
Thoughts please.
what i would like to know also is the screenshots i seen of the galaxy s and other youtube videos saying it has touchwiz 3.0
but looking at this samsung video the touchwiz 3.0 is different. or maybe it has to do with the wave ...
Id much prefer this interface ...

That's running the Bada OS which is found on the Wave
it's faster than Android and I would have bought the Wave if the 3g bands worked in the Americas but it doesn't offer support for 1900mhz yet, and the number of applications do not match that of Android (I need applications that are not found on Bada yet, can't assume they will also), aaaand since we can't put shortcuts to applications on the homepage :'( like on Android.
Touchwiz is the UI on it and on Android too, it is a bit different for the Wave since it's running Samsung's new OS, Bada OS. I prefer the TouchWiz 3 on the Android since we can use hardware buttons to go back or to open the menu instead of them being on the screen which take up space.
But they are very very similar since it's the nearly the same UI.
Just like this...

Welfare tv out. Your xperia is a console now

Its very simple and works great on my phone.
What you need,
A remote client like teamviewer
A laptop
A tv
Set up your remote c
Software so that you can view your phones screen via laptop, hook up laptop to your tv,
Pwn nubs on the bigscreen
Also works good for phones that are touchpad only becaue your hands arent in the way anymore
How do I set it up?
I see my desktop on my phone, how do I switch it around?
Look for droid vnc server on market, it shows the phones screen by default
Easiest way to set it up would be rtfm
What about refresh latency? I've seen Droid VNC but it didn't refresh fast enough...

damn!....thats definitely a possibility. I hope not.
The resolution looks great I just wish it wasn't soooo slowwwww....there's gotta be a good combo of apps/programs that runs fast
EDIT: just f*cked with it for a couple hours.....android side I tried droid vnc server and remote desktop add on...both worked well connecting to PC and vice versa....PC side I used tightvnc and vncviewer.....both worked well also...
BUT yeah, the display on MY pc of my phone's screen was tinted RED, and was really slow...like 1-3 second delay on everything....
there's gotta be a way to optimize this! I wanna play emulators on my TV from my phone goddamnit!
cool, gonna follow this thread. i guess you need a pretty f-ing good internet speed to get it to run good enough for fast games.

seriously.....and on that note I'd be surprised if there wasn't a way to enable it somehow....the infuse 4g comes with an adapter that plugs into mini-USB and transfers to HDMI....there's gotta be a way to flash the phone so it can do it to?
if its a hardware issue, then yeah that's a dumb solution....but I'd be open to buying a hardware extension if someone modded it...

I just guessing here, but I would imagine that the HDMI out option is available just on the developers kit. During the demo of Desert Winds at E3. There was a port connection between the headphone jack and the usb port. I have to assume that port was placed on the dev. kit to allow for demo of the game during development on a bigger screen. The retail version of the phone probably does not have this port connection. If it did it would be a nice selling point.
HDMI out is in the service menu, but they removed the necessary hardware for the commercial release.
Hardware-wise it's not possible to enable anything because it's not there
eros78 is probably right, the service menu option is just a remnant from the dev kits.

So what exactly is Chat on?

So after every review video oh this phone i always see that app chat on displaying on the gs3. I hear that its kind of like imessages and bbm (and honest for some reason ive always wanted that on my phone). So how does it work exactly? does it import my number and tell me when the other person is reading the message typing back to me etc or does it have nothing to do with my normal messaging app at all? or is it just complete junk all together that no one uses?
I believe it's like kik?

It's easily the best messaging app with tons of features. It's also available on every platform (iOS, Bada, Blackberry, Android).
The only thing is that no-one uses it yet. and that's the most important thing..

Can't really see how it's better than whattsapp for example? And I think that imessage is better, because it's integrated in the messaging app so you don't even need to know who has it and who don't. Closest to imessage on android is go chat in go sms. It's just that nobody uses that either...
But in the end chat on is really a useful tool for free messaging.
The only thing WhatsApp is missing is a Web client.
But yeah, same story for all, no user base and it doesn't matter if you have all the features and toys.
