I'm just wondering is there a way to make the xperia play record 720p? I know in the past people have done it with the nexus one. Also the arc and neo both records hd 720p, anyway to take that and implant into the xperia play?
I think SonyEricsson will let it be able to record 720p into the next update
Same how happened to the X10
but play doesn't even have the ability of changing focus.......
I don't think SE will enhance any camera ability of play......
It may reduce the sale of Arc or Neo..........
Same goes for the Bravia Engine, almost the same.
It’s absolutely inacceptable not to assemble it.
Is there any news on this?

Hi,
i'm going to buy Galaxy S in few days (or weeks). I know it's not perfect phone but most of bad sides seems minor to me. But... i like recording videos. I've recently had Samsung Wave and it's video recording was superb. Galaxy doesn't record sound in videos as good as Wave. Any iPhone record better sound that Galaxy. So here's the question: is there any possible way to make Galaxy record better sound? I mean full spectrum with 44,1khz and without all of cracking? From what i saw all android phones record only 16khz audio. Do you think there is any chance to get better audio codec from google or samsung (now or later)?
seems rather a configuration issue, not so much as the codec
the codec is there already else it wont record sound at all
it is a matter of tweaking the codec to allow CD quality recording which is what you want.
it'll probably use more CPU power and more storage space, also more battery power
the programers that did the build in software in SGS must have figured for the average user 16Khz is a happy medium
I'm sure there will be 3rd party Recording software, where you can select the quality that you want from the App itself.
you can try checking Android Market.
Yeah, i hope there will be some 3rd party soft to do that.
Going up to 44.1khz shouldn't be so hard (Wave have the same hardwave so Galaxy S is capable to do that) but i wonder what's with that cranking in noisy env.
Hello, i was wondering why sony ericsson gave good image quality in the video recording function of the camera app on the xperia x10 mini & mini pro models but a rather poor audio quality on it, i know this is mainly because of using 3gp format as the container for the videos, which is far from a good way to store the videos.
So the question is, there is some kind of way for improving the sound quality of the camcorder app in x10 mini & pro camera apps? or a 3rd party camcorder app that can encode videos in mp4 or other formats that could do a better job handling audio?.
Thanks in advance & sorry for my redaction, i'm still learning english (spanish is my mother language).
Greetings .
i read somewhere that HD video recording will be possible for this phone anyone manged to get it yet?
and can anyone tell me where i can get free games for the playstation pocket?
You can run legally backup ps1 games with fpse if that is what you mean...
Video recording is not supported but some guys are looking into porting the arc camera app to the play and will look if 720p recording will be one of the possibilities, but donm't count on it.
Before I got my XPERIA S I had XPERIA PLAY. And I really missing my PLAY specially game pad and I wouldn't be worry much about no ICS for PLAY because GB doing very well on both phones. But one thing very upset me on XPS sound quality and no Stereo on video playback its shame for such as great device. There is my video with proof :
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
Thanks for the video.
Very interesting.

it might be true (ok2.. i did some test, and the video record is not stereo)
but what on earth you meant with sound quality? and no stereo in video playback? i use the default movie app, mx video player, dice player, to watch my video clips collection (not the one recorded by the phone) and im sure as hell it's playing in stereo... in all apps.
and for sound quality? idk.. this is very-very subjective. but i think it sounds nice. provided i use flac+neutron/walkman (ics built-in music app)/poweramp+ Chinese made earphone (Yuin PK3)
Hi. I used my XPERIA PLAY as a gaming phone but also I recorded a lots o videos . for example when my little boy dancing or try to dance with music in background. When I played my videos on my phone or any computer. Sound quality was absolutely perfect and I never heard before so clear sound with STEREO as well form any phone I had in my hands … HD Vidos Quality wasn’t great if compare to SXS but I wouldn’t complaining on sound playback.
Then 1st time I had a chance to see SONY XPERIA S in TV ads and YouTube Reviews then fell in love straight away , bought SXS and I keep doing same thing recording videos … when I played videos on phones or computers I was very disappointed difference is HUGE for me.
I can agree that my video maybe only a proof for Comparison of STEREO AND MONO . But not really for spund quality. I I have sold my SE XPERIA PLAY so I cant make any video at the moment but I have one of good few videos uploaded to YouTube recorded with PLAY . I Just have to make it public …I May have more on my Laptop:
Sound quality on Video recorded by me using XPERIA PLAY

I just read the x compact review on gsmarena and it says:
There is no 4K video recording - it's reserved for the high-end Xperia XZ. Just like on the other X's, it's not a chipset limitation - the S650 is fully capable in this respect - it most probably was a marketing decision.
Does that mean that theoretically it's possible to record 4k videos IF a developer looks into it and, let's say, ports the XZ camera? Basically, is it a software or hardware limitation?

well if you search this about xperia X there are some possible ways to enable 4k recording and also many have reported that other third party camera apps have the 4k option in video settings and its only disabled in stock sony camera app
but the problem is that the phone temperature might not allow us to record 4k and might damage the phone as Xperia X reportedly had issues even on 1080p recording!
