thanks will have a look, why havent you rooted yet, quiet a few options now to root, had mine done in under 2 minutes, and yet am terrible when it comes to rooting.
titanium backup (can remove some useless stock apps: PostCard, Chinse Keybord, BBC playr ...; freezes some apps that you dont use: SE sync, TimeScape ..., and move apps to sd: XP games other than the stock one, FPSE ...)
busybox
adFree
sd speed increase (it really works!!)
To ad some more:
Screenshot apps.
Fontchanger.
Root explorer (filemanager).
Terminal emulater (changing/overwriting/modding/moving files in /system/).
Widget locker (does work without root, but gives you an option to work better with root permission).
Metamorph (don't know if it works on the XP or without unlocked bootloader).
Regards Dousan...

No root required

Link2sd
Ad remover
systcl config
titanium backup

If you root you can delete a lot of standard installed apps, removing them safes battery life significantly in my experience.

I rooted my X10a using that app yesterday. Install the apk from that link and run it. It installed one other app (superUser Permission). All I did is click on Root button. I didn't even have to restart the phone.
Then to check if it really rooted I went to Market and downloaded and installed "Titanium Backup". The installation had problem that said somethink like it needs busybox #@(#@(#. It asked if I want to download it. I choose yes and the backup now works.
Soon I will be removing some of the SE crap that came with the phone.

Hi guy, we're the Androidblog.it staff, and we created a useful tool that allows you to to move your apps to your SDcard.
This tool does not require ROOT permissions, but need Android Froyo 2.2.
You only have to install the USB drivers (adb), enable debug mode, and connect your phone to PC...EASY!
This tool will show you two options:
1- Apply App2SD - Patch (Applica App2SD – Patch)
2- Restore defaults (Ripristina impostazioni di default)
"Now available also the English Version!"
To apply the patch you only need to select the first option, the second if you want to remove it.
TOO EASY!
Thanks to KuroAndroid and to Murder for the betatesting, and to Ivan Boscacci for the inspiration.
YOU CAN FIND THE LINK FOR DOWNLOAD THE TOOL HERE IN THE ORIGINAL POST.
I hope you'll enjoy it!
Recall that the Tools created by Andrew (AndroidBlog.it STAFF) is owned by AndroidBlog.it ...if you want to use it on your blog we would appreciate if you will quote the link to our site. Thanks
So with this tool you can move all apps 2sd?

is there any risk to the apps that get moved from the phone to the SD card?
I can't download without registering, and how am i suppossed to register on a site thats in italian?
Scroll down the page and locate any post with the button "Fare il login per replicare". Click on this and you should be able to login and then download the app.
this is really nice... so far with N1.
Thanks guys!
Sorry but I can't see how to register. I've tried loging in with my twitter account but I cannot get the file. Any clue or alternative?
I have used this and it does work, however programmes that came on your phones stock rom (i am using orange 2.2 froyo) you cannot move to the sd card, for example google maps and facebook. Also i tried downloading adobe air earlier and this is 10+mb's and although it said it was on the sd card it wasn't. Could this be because it is a sytem app or is there another reason?
Cheers
how this work?
Nice work pal! works on my HTC Desire running 2.2 Froyo. Non-rooted. Quick question, how the hell does it work? does it trick it into thinking its possible to move the app to SD card?

It's not meant to be an apk that you install onto the phone.
(1) Download the file onto your PC and unzip it.
(2) Enable USB Debugging mode on your phone.
(3) Connect the phone to your PC.
(4) Click on the "SuperOneClick" file in the unzipped folder.
(5) Click on the "Root" button.
(6) Wait until it says that root is successful.
(7) Unplug your phone from the PC and manually reboot it.
(8) Your phone is unrooted!
thanks, I will get a laptop from my work this evening and try.
So (yes I am a noob) should I downloading this file on the phone or on the computer??

You should be downloading it to a PC and running it from there.
Oh, I forgot to add that you need to reboot your phone manually before it is detected to be rooted.

Hi!
First of all - thanks for everyones hard work and contribution to the windows phone platform! I havent tried unlocking my device before but figured it was no point in waiting for samsung anymore. And if the device gets bricked - it would be a good reason to buy a W8 device
Anyway. I flashed the "WP7.8_7.10.8858.13 6_NT_18L_V1_by_ansar" and everything seems to work fantastic!
So. What to do now? I would like to try and sideload apps and all that..But Im not sure where to look or what kind of xap-installer to use or anyting. If homebrew works or... Also, it would be cool to test the Nokia apps - I understand it is possible to change the "device name" with a registry editor app?
I would be thrilled if someone could point me in the best direction to be able to discover and.....re-imagine
Peace out!
Search Google/the forums man!
I'll point you in the right direction though.
Google "Bazaar" which is a homebrew app marketplace. On XDA if you see a .XAP (WP7 app) attachment you can "Click for QR code" then if you go to Bing search on your phone, click vision and point it at your computer screen, the app will download to your phone thanks to the custom ROM you've installed.
Registry editors etc are available on Bazaar.
Some Nokia apps are available in the WP7 Development & Hacking - Apps & Games section of XDA.

Do i understan correctly the rom is deliberately locked and that I need root tools to unlock?
Tried to install apps from bazaar - but it claims my device isnt fully unlocked. Do I need to start with bazaar for PC to be able to install root tools and then give permission to bazaar? Because I installed root tools - but it also demands unlocking.

See if there is a program installed called Root Manager. This is basically the permissions app, go into it and toggle Bazaar and any other apps you install to allow them to have root access, which they need.

Not sure I understand you correctly..Do you mean a required version to be able to flash from? You need to flash the MAGLDR so I dont think it will matter wich version you have, pre-flash.

this theard for search Ideas to install Google Play on the new update
i Successfully root my x2 and try this ideas to install google play store but all fail :
1-install all google apps as a user apk
2-install craked google play and Patch to Android
3-install all google apps from cwm
4- the soultion is
Google Apps on firmware 2.1.0.11.
We will need:
Nokia x 2 v 2.1.0.11
Custom recovery
Root access
Root Explorer
Nokia x 2 tools v1.1
Course of action.
1. take a smart with a working firmware. To your I'm all set with "zero".
2. Put the caps custom recovery. Make a backup. In any case, it is useful. Through recovery can and Ruth get.
3. download the smart, go to Settings = > Protection = > unknown sources. Turn on them. Just in case I have disabled the checking of applications at the time all this pain.
4. turn on developer mode, it scrolls the five-fold on firmware version and USB debugging in settings.
5. where do you put the Root Explorer.
6. open it, go to system\app and cut from there 2 file
package verifier.apk
package verifier odex.
Plugins go to hell. In principle, can remove them, there are backup.
7. Reboot and connect to Nokia x 2 tools, put out plejmarket.
I was out of there just because this program was next. Prog restart smart.
8. PROFIT!
And as always-I am not responsible for your actions and your bricks received during and after the preceding course of action.
The CAP is not added because while I can say for sure that this way works, but its impact is unknown.
And there should be a way to raskirpičivaniâ smart teoretieski that sewn up with old firmware from gugloservisami to a new one. But is there any access to ADB-here's the salt. If there is only the need to carry 2 file.
The instructions above again-this is the way to the shoulder. You may need to edit something in the apk file. Perhaps it's the service control application sources. In Google there is, as I understand, the Nokia zapilila its.
Also, I have not worked and Hangouts-but then with some fear has become a work ... Read my post on the subject hèngauta

Also asking, we need to get rid of something (highly possibilities related to Nokia's new added google services) to avoid boot loop. It's annoying that I can't access Google Play...
I think that possible solution is to remove Microsoft's google integration and install Google apps. Now, I don't have access to the device. In my opinion, the reason of bootloop is conflict between this.
