[Q] Answer Delay - XPERIA X10 General

I am experiencing an answer delay when I answer calls on my Xperia x10.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Is this hardware related or rom related? I am on Wolfbreaks v061, but I have been experiencing this for a while.

So you mean, when your phone rings and you answer it, you wait a while before you say "Hello"?

I say hello, but the other end cannot hear me. They hang up. One of us calls the other one again and there are no problems.

I had this issue with TripNMiui rom, and even when I flashed a different rom, this problem persisted...
Might just be a big coincidence, but it was gone when I flashed a different baseband...
So... take your own conclusions...

People complain about echo

Sometimes people I am talking with complain that they hear their own voice. Does anyone else have this?

ive never had anyone say that to me, however apparently i sound like im "on the moon" when im on a voice call... this could possibly attributed to the placement of the mic and how i hold my phone?
Yep
I've been having this on and off since upgrading from jpk to jpm.
What firmware are you using.
Me and my girlfriend (2 phones) both have this issue,

mute/silent when making calls

sorry for bribging this up here.but its a big issue to people who make calls a lot. this topic was made in the general section.but thought I'd bring it up here l,hoping the devs can look into this.
issue: when u make a call, the call log/time logger starts running and u don't hear anything,no ringing or anything.at all.u have to hang up and dial 2-4 times for it to finally ring. apparently the other person ur calling receives the call but hears nothing as well. this issue has been reported on dk28 roms.I , myself am running bonsais latest ext4 rom and am having this issue still. some people have suggested that turning the speaker phone on and off when making a call fixes this, but I refuse to do this for all my calls.lol.no offense to the developers, but coming from a hero,I never had calling issues whatsoever . and having issues like this on an expensive ass phone doesn't make sense lol.please help.thanks.

Same issue here! Except on mine it will show the call timer and the other side can hear me but I can't hear them... gotten me in trouble already haha. Annoying that our 600 dolar phones can only make phone calls sometimes.

I have this issue as well on dk28, if you go back to dl18 it fixes it. And its not the phones fault its the unofficial leaked froyo
Please post questions in General section.
I have the same problem, and it's persisted across 3 different ROMs (all DK28 based, though).
If it's truly a problem with the leaked source, why are more people not experiencing it? It affects at least 75% of my outgoing calls. Do people just not use their phones as phones that much?
I haven't tried the speaker trick yet.
Have this issue a well. Found that if u cycle ur speaker phone on and off it will correct for one call

I've had this problem as well.
I thought it was cause I accidentally put my phone in between two slices of bread with cheese and mustard and bit into it...
yup add me to the dk28 phone outgoing call issue list 8)
Edit: It does not happen every time but I will have to give/remenber the speaker phone cycle test when it does.

3 to 4 second before other party hears my voice

I am not sure if this is a hardware or software issue but it has been happening quite often after the RC 7.0.0. I am running the stock kernel.
when I answer a call, it takes 3 to 4 second before other party hears my voice. It seems that ph is dead for that 3 to 4 second and than really turns on.
any idea?
bumping this...
so no one has this issue except my DInc?
Try flashing a different ROM and see if it persists. Easiest way to troubleshoot.
Happens to me too. It only happens when I get a call, not if I make one and it doesnt happen all the time. It happened on Magnolia, Redemption Revolution, and Redemption. I called Verizon to fix this issue and they told me to dial *288 and option 2 to get moved up on the roaming list. That works for a few calls and then its back to normal.

Thank you all for your help.
I resolved this by installing a different kernel.

i thought this was a known gingerbread bug. i haven't experienced it personally on cm7, but i've read about others experiencing it. maybe i just haven't been observant enough.
Ive noticed this since day 1 with my Inc on launch day. Thought it came with the territory

Gingerbread 2.3.3 JVB/JVK call delay problem

Since upgrading to Gingerbread 2.3.3 I have noticed that there is a call delay on every incoming and outgoing call where you can´t hear the other person and the other person can´t hear you. This problem occurs for about 2 - 3 seconds.
I have seen this problem in different threads around XDA. There problem is also reported for Nexus One devices as you can see here:
http://www.google.com/support/forum...b1&hl=en&fid=110c873c8cdee0b10004a13fb277fc99
And here:
http://pocketnow.com/android/google-nexus-one-having-call-problem-on-gingerbread
I had this problem when i tried Darkys 10 RC 3 and the problem disapeared when I flashed back to Froyo but came back after Kies update to 2.3.3
If you have this problem, which GB release do you have and which country and network provider do you have?
GB Release: 2.3.3 JVB
Provides: Swedish Telia
Thank you!
Best Regards

i guess the issue is with Gingerbread in general...there is a thread going on in phandroid.com
http://phandroid.com/2011/04/18/i-got-99-problems-and-gingerbread-is-one/
I can confirm it with JVK. I hoped it is corrected in JVB.
I don't have this problem with JVB! Everthing works fine!
i also think it is fixed in JVB, did some calls yesterday and all was fine. JVK had delay.
if it`s really fixed, then samsung is the first. no other 2.3.3 rom has a fix for this, not even aosp.

Yes, it seems to bo related to Gingerbread and not just Galaxy S specific. But in my point of view, Samsung is the one that has the responsibility to fix this bug.
I suggest that everyone who has this problem report it to Samsung Support.

Ok, interesting. I noticed it yesterday on JVB but maybe I have to give JVB a try.
But it seems strange if it was fixed in JVB and then they release JVK for UK?

If you concern that memory management problem in JVK it's much more strange to release that.
The problem persists with JVB, not that obvious as in JVK though.
I've tried calling myself and speaking straight away and I could hear myself without a problem.
I'm on JVB by the way.
Edit : spoke too fast. There is an issue for me as well.
This is a known bug with Gingerbread, that Google recently declined, saying it was "device specific" (to the Nexus One).
However this problem is also being reportedly widely on the HTC Desire, as well as Samsung Galaxy devices.
I have posted a new issue, which is not attributed to a specific device.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=16230
Please comment and star this issue. And please specificy especially if your device is not the Nexus One, so that Google gets this message that this is a widespread Gingerbread bug, which has nothing to do with the device.
Thanks.
I can confirm this bug as well, on jvk.

Same with JVK.
No problems with JVK- not tried JVB yet-too busy to flash!(First time ever!)

This is a well known bug within every API-Lvl10 which was shown until now.
It wasn't fixed yet, neither in the early JVK nor in JVA/JVB.
But wasn't exactly this issue one of the reasons for the first GB delay?
But I'm very curious getting to know why this issue shouldn't affect the
VOD Versions as well^^ Probably only some "marketing related thing" there
The Google employee following up on the call delay issue, in the Google support forums, is asking people to fill out the following form, to gather information about how people are affected and on what devices.
http://goo.gl/10HJ1
definitely encountered this bug
i thought it was just bad signal or something
I didnt had it on JVK, 2 days on JVB and calling was impossible -.-
No call bug here.
Does anyone know if JVA have daily briefing? I'm looking for the latest gingerbread version
BTW, gingerbread battery life has been phenomenal for me so far. my first charge has lasted 1.5 days and I still have 50% left!!! (fairly light usage, but a bit of web-browsing, app installs etc).

[Q] Delayed Texting

I am having a problem with me texts that i am sending. They take a while to get to the person that i am sending them to. I have an updated radio on my phone. I had this problem before i updated the radio also. Thanks for any help with this issue.
I'm assuming its happening with more than one person?
If so do they have the same carrier?
Its possible there is an issue with theirs.
Yes its happening to everyone I text. No matter what carrier they have.
