+1000 ; the threads are being created as a fad, there is no logic behind them. I mean : a thread for each commercial? Really?? This is crazy, and time-wasting...

I can't believe how fantastic it looks compared to LCD. I'm a huge fan of saturated colors (I crank up digital vibrance on my computer), and now my EVO's LCD just looks washed out. Anyone else who switched from LCD to this?

I wouldn't say 'switched' so much, as my Droid is still my main phone, but yes; the screen is so much more beautiful and vibrant than my Droid's LCD. When my Verizon contract is up, SAMOLED will definitely be a requirement for my new phone.

^ When there's black on the screen, it's hard to tell where the screen stops and the casing begins! And when the phone is turned off, it just looks like one sexy slab of obsidian.
I ended up taking back my MT4G because I couldn't stand the washed out colors on the screen. The G2's SLCD was fantastic, but the SAMOLED on this absolutely blow it out of the water.

Pure sex. Umf.
IT'S TOOOO DAMN BRIGHT!
Screen is great, but it's too bright! Was at TRON Legacy midnight showing last night, after the movie, the lights were still down, I turn on my phone and blinded myself! Even manually set to 0% it's way too bright. Makes it hard to use the phone at night when you're laying in bed reading the news.
Heh, you should rip an Avatar DVD and watch it on the SAMOLED. T-Mobile knew what it was doing when it packaged the movie with the Vibrant, because it's an absolutely jaw-dropping combo. My iPhone 4-owning friends are just blown away when I show them movies on my Vibrant.
I lick my super amoled when I am in the bathroom and no one can see me.
Coming from MT4G ( and the inferior screen too ) It's really a big difference.

Updated for my fellow former EVO users.
Hi,
I do have an issue with the screen of my SGN :
When the display is dimed at maximum and with grey backgrounds, horizontal lines like shades (in portrait mode) are visible.
It's almost like the screen were dirty.
Is it a special thing on amoled screens ?
Am I the only one with that ?
Thanks in advance for your reaction.
And sorry for my english, I'm french...

I have a SGN and I'm afraid I see the same thing. It's primarily on grey backgrounds...but sometimes is slightly visible on white backgrounds as well. Annoying....but the screen is otherwise brilliant. I suppose this is the price we have to pay...but I don't like it one bit ..
search the forum. There are threads about this and other display issues. You are far from being alone. I have sent mine back for this and other screen problems.

Yes, also present on the note... it is only viewable when you dim the screen and have a gray background. For example if you use the ScreenFilter app you can really see all the artifacts and lines. I don't really see this when you have full brightness.

Not got a replacement yet.
I've had two SGN's with these problems so far. The first one I ordered and the replacement I got. The first one I got even had dead pixels and dust behind the screen.
I don't think I will be getting a third one. Samsung really sucks at doing quality phones free from any defects. Just reading the threads about the SGN here on the forum shows that the screen is not the only problem. For an example, the physical buttons stops responding randomly and the note can't play some videos properly while other more older and cheaper phones can... I'm disappointed with these problems and I'm currently using my iPhone 4... Which works without any problem, but unfortunately doesn't have a 5.3" HD screen!!!!!
Has anyone noticed that the warm colors are only available when looking at the display head on?
Tilting just a few degrees does keep the image sharp, but the colors are much colder...
What im asking is - is this normal, or should i get another?
Well - i just spoke to supercurio, he says its to do with crappy glass treatment, not the panel itself.
Will go and see what else they have at the store tomorrow...
Only a slight change in color for me. Nothing that I would say is an "issue". But, of course, it depends on your personal perception...
What more annoys me is the banding (gradient) and the oversaturated, unnatural colors that I experienced with all AMOLED displays until now. I prefer LC displays...

Seems to be common in Samsung devices but not all exhibit such a bad viewing angle, my Galaxy S and S8500 didnt have any color temperature changes when tilted even at extreme angles while my Galaxy S2 had a slight shift to green, while my note's first screen didnt have any hint of temperature change but after the screen replacement I had a blue tint with really bad viewing angles.
I havent seen how bad it is on the Tab7.7 but im guessing its gonna be similar.
EDIT:
Found this show case video on the Galaxy Note about the viewing angles, their unit doesnt seem to exhibit any color changes.

Don't let me stop you, just letting you know that its common among samsung devices but not all of them exhibit the same issue, a friend dropped by after getting his tab 7.7 about 2hrs ago and there is no color change at an angle, so yours might be faulty.

Man I don't post too often but you've gotta relax a little bit, take a chill pill.
The other guy does have a point in saying that its common to all Samsung devices especially the Galaxy S line of devices. I've had a Galaxy S2 that had color temperature change when viewed from an angle and even my current nexus does it.
I got my galaxy tab 7.7 2 weeks ago and I'm very happy to say that it does not have any temperature color change even viewed at an extreme angle.
And this guy did an unboxing and also mentioned that he has no color changes when viewed from an angle as well
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rha2jJXCy8M
I hope you find my "opinion" relevant but whatever, relax and chill out.
Also he did add to his post that he saw a friend Tab 7.7 and it didn't have the color change that you mentioned.

That you notice.
This would be the first OLED or any screen (LCD obviously is bad for this) that doesn't change a bit when viewed off axis then. I have seen the Note, the Infuse, and even Zune HD screens and they all shift a bit when viewed at an angle. I would be very suprised if this did't shift at all but I suppose it may be possible.

Look at the video posted above on the note, it does not have any color temperature change as far as I can tell. Before I had my screen replacement it was similar to that.
Just bought three more for the office, all with perfect screens. The first was a dud, store took it back after some cajoling.
Thanks for the help.
No colour change with mine. Best screen I've have ever looked at.

I also took mine back because it turned blue when i looked at it at a small angle. New one is not perfect either, still distorting way more than screen on my lcd 8.9 though.
I wonder how many people just dont realise that small color distorion is normal and never complain and how many actually haver crappy screens (since i assume they are pretty much the same manufacture date)?

I also wonder what you're doing with your tablets... When I'm using mine I'm holding in front of me, I don't tilt it at 78.5 degrees only to see that physics does its job with the glass filtering/separating colours at certain angles through reflections between the two glass surfaces.
You can't just have everything: a super-tough screen glass, brilliant colours, high resolution, crisp sharpness, 180 degrees viewing angles in every direction.... Be happy with the best screen in a tablet so far!

Actually you can. My very first 7500 was PERFECT. As was an excellent Incredible S i owned.
Ive now seen 4 of these and none had what i would call a good screen compared to the LCD in my first 7500. Changing up to 170 degrees on it only affects the brightness not the pixels visible color temperatures.
i had 3 htc ones all screen different brightness and 3 of them takes different pictures

why is it like this
Here in Korea, the official Samsung Service Center website has issued a statement regarding pink/yellow-tinted screens. I can't post any links since this is my first post, but you can Google "화면 관련, 이런 증상은 고장이 아닙니다."
Here's my translation:
Q: The colors are different on the top and bottom of my screen.
A: The AMOLED displays used in the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge feature high resolution, chroma, and color gamut in order to produce a clear picture. This may result in slight differences in color. However, please visit your nearest service center if you notice a large difference in color to receive an accurate judgement.

The original statement wasn't very well-written either. They also mentioned that light bleeding around the edges of the screen may occur because they use Flexible Display technology. So, according to Samsung, all of this is normal.
In Korea, you can't just go to the store and ask for a replacement. You have to go to a Samsung Service Center and get your phone inspected for defects. If you're lucky, you'll receive a document that grants you the honor of exchanging your phone. My phone's display was deemed normal, but seriously, the top of my screen is bright and gets darker as you go down... like a gradient. It's really distracting. Additionally, my screen is warmer and lower in brightness compared to other S6 displays. Yet, all I got was a firmware update. Thanks...
I also noticed that a lot of people on the forums are wondering if the Korean-made versions are less defective compared to the ones from Vietnam or China. During my visit, it looked like most of the people there had complaints about their S6/S6 Edges.
I miss the US... Getting your crap replaced was a piece of cake.
I was really hyped up about this phone, but this is most likely my last Samsung.
Nothing to miss in the US.
Getting my device replaced has taken weeks now, and I still don't have a replacement. It took arguing down a whole lot of idiots to even get things this far.
