[Q] Duplicate contacts when writing a text - Vibrant General

When I start a text and put in the name of the contact I want to message, dup doesn't do this for calls, but I can figure out how to do it for texts. It shows 2 only pulls names from either the phone or sim?

Cut / Paste and Dialing from a web page or text message?

G'Day,
I have three issues with the i-mate and that is the ability to:
1. dial a selected telephone number from received text (SMS) messages or email messages;
2. save the selected telephone number from received text (SMS) messages or email messages into contacts;
I transferred my Telstra message service from MessageBank to Memo so that I did not need to write the name and number before calling. Memo sends the message via text (SMS) message which enabled to return telephone calls directly from text (SMS) message. On the i-mate, I can not select the telephone number to return calls from text (SMS) messages.
3. cut and paste from web pages or text messages.
For example cut name, telephone, address, email address and company name from emails or text (SMS) messages and paste into contacts.
I know that the Treo 600 has this ability and I'm hoping that the i-mate can perform these functions also. If not, I might have to swap to the Treo 600!
It would be greatly appreciated for any assistance to solve these issues.
Thank you.
Marcus
but you can copy and paste from other places right ?
I can cut and paste from other areas but not from web pages, emails or text (SMS) messages.
If I receive a text (SMS) message, email or web page with a telephone number in the message, I must write it down, open the phone and type in the telephone number. After the call I can then transfer to contacts.
How do you cut from web pages, emails or text (SMS) messages and paste to phone or contacts or calender?
Thank you for your prompt assistance.

HTC Sense: SMS vs. Phonenumbers

I have a big problem with my hd2, because it is handling the sms and phone numbers wrong:
If I place my Countrycode in front of my numbers the contacts getting found in the sms (Someone writes a sms of the number with countrycode and I get the name above his sms). If I get called by the person, it only shows his number.
But If I place a "0" in front of his number, without the countrycode, in the sms tab only his number is visible, without his name, BUT I recieve his name when he calls me?!
Anyone knows how to fix?

Do you have duplicate contacts? One on phone and one on SIM card?
I only have contacts on my phone...

Contacts Names

Did a search for this and I didn't see anything so If I missed it, sorry just point me to it. I'm having an issue with the names of my contacts not showing up in the call log or on text messages. If I go to the actual contacts section all the names are there but if anyone calls me or texts me it just says (unknown) and then there phone number but If text someone it shows there name but then when they text back it shows as a new message (not in the same group as the message I sent) and does the same thing with (unknown) and there phone number (even though when I sent the original text there name showed. (Hope that all made sense)
I have checked and all of my contacts are in the actual contacts section so I know everything is syncing ok I just can't figure out why there names wont show up in calls, call logs or texts. Any Ideas?

How to remove Send message link in contacts

Hi,
in all Android builds I have tried it is the same. When I go in certain contact which have several numbers, I also have Send message link for each number, even though some numbers cant recieve sms and such (home numbers). Is there a way to remove this and perhaps made it something like in WinMo to have a switch for default SMS number. Sometimes it is very confusing to find a right button for SMS and often make mistakes sending the messages to wrong one.
