Replacing SE home laucher with Spb shell 3d...is it possible to use timescape widget at the same time? I tried, but cannot find a way to launch it. Seems SE hides it when you use some other laucher (adw, spb shell 3d, etc.). Anyone got a clue for this?

Timescape, the music player, the media folder (and the nice folder icons) are all only a part of the SE launcher. Even if you use LauncherPro you won't get it. This is necessary for SE to separate these tools from the core OS, which lets them release updates faster.
^^^
You mean this is necessary for SE to forbid anyone to port these widgets to non-SE mobile phones

didn't know that...pity
Standard practice for all manufacturers - there are plenty of Sense widgets that won't work with alternative launchers.

Yeah but why would you want to use any of the Blur widgets
One of the reasons I bought Arc is I like SE design and UI.
And I have never seen any sense of stuffing my phone with such things as SPBShell
which in my opinion looks worse than original SE launcher/widgets.
I know it's highly customizable though. But 15MB?

Well, after using X1 for a long time I switched to X10. As I am quite new with Android I am searching on the net for best Android Apps, but some doesn't fill up my screen entirely. I searched the thread, but could not find this kind of topic, so I start one
So, I thought to help each other out and point each other on some cool application/game maybe we can share here our top 5:
I will start with 6 in this top 5;-)
1. Astro File Manager (Free, from Market)
I really was surprised there was no file manager as default in the X10. This one is very good and now you can install your .apk files from your storage card as well. A must have for everyone.
2. Zedge (Free, from Market)
A lot of very nice wallpapers and ringtones you can view/listen to, download and set as your default ones in just a few taps. Works great.
3. ACT1 VideoPlayer (Not Free, from Market)
Very nice videoplayer.
4. My Soccer 24/7 (Free, from Market)
All Major leagues, news, live scores and everything you need as a soccer addict.
5. Well, one game than.... WSOP Poker (not free, from Market).
It's not made for the X10, so it's a bit blurry, but the fingerfriendly controls of the game are just stunning.
6. Advanced Task Killer (Free, from Market)
Will shotdown the apps running in the background, I assume this will save a lot of battery power.
I am now still looking for a widget I can put on my home screen which allows me to control the musicplayer. Actually, I did not found a very good designed (black-themish) music player so far, so maybe some one knows a good player including a widget you can control it with.
Cheers,
Arnold

Every alternate gps on/off widget I've tried always requires 2 clicks, while the xperias quick settings only require 1. Am I doing something wrong?

others that havent been mentioned:
qype is very useful.. finds nearby takeawayz, restaurant, nightlife, bars, shopz and much more based on your location within no time! It showz how far the places are in km's and some of them are also reviewed and when you click on a location you get details such as address and telephone no. Gps needs to be switched on for this
app protector is a must if you want to hide things from nosy people who forexample just read your messagez, take no.z from your phonebook and what not. Prevents user from accessing any apps you choose by either pin/pattern lock!
music junk is an amazing app.. i think you might only find this online though! type any song you want and this music database will most likely have it.. you can alwayz keep up to date with the songz ur matez hav. holdin your finger on the desired song allows you to preview and download.. also a lyrics option which will try n find d lyrics 4 u (doesnt use browser 4 this either). Note - i think preview only works once it has fully loaded.
SwiftKey - i gotta say im really liking this app now. This app has a decent UI but its prediction is just 2 good 2 be true. It can analyse from all your previous messages aswell as help predicting your next word a breeze!! saves alot of time!!
Wifi File Explorer - Perfect for people with wifi at home - this allows you to use internet explorer to access your phone contents and also allows you to upload files to your phone.. very useful app! no need to rely on them silly cables!
hope you enjoy!!
would also like to add in yxflash - gotta be the only player i know off that can play avi/divx files.. and more! no need to convert anymore!!
Thanks for the to apps, some good ones came by already. Cheers, Arnold

Beautiful widgets (paid app - love the HTC like clock)
flight director (I am an airplane nut person)
toss it (total way to waste time)
Google voice (free sms, that's great!!!)
Moxier World (weather forecasts of different cities of the world - love the widget)
HTC Keyboard (So much easier to use then the standard keyboard)
Beautiful Widgets (Home screen with large Sense UI type clock & weather with many shortcut widgets)
Copilot Live 8 (Best android GPS app)
Handcent SMS (I couldn't imagine sending another text msg without this program!)
Juice Defender + Ultimate Juice (Battery saver AKA life saver)
i was running desire hd 3.4 for the last couple of days but today i decided to switch to froyo sense 2.4.2 because the camera is working on that build.
now i would like to know if it's possible to get a updated sense on that build. there are some nice features missing. like the preview of themes, a lot of themes, background pictures and especially some nice widgets and the feature to see all htc wigets in one place.
especially i am looking for the data-connection and settings widget which comes in bar-style (setting, wifi, mobile-data, sync, bt, etc.). is it possible to get it somewhere? it was pretty convenient compared to the single button widgets i found on the market.
thx a lot!
u cant. HTC sense is complicated. u either have it or u dont. at least for now...
that's sad. does anybody have a suggestion for a bar-like-settings-widget. sorry for my english.
I know what you are talking about. There are a few out there. Try "extended controls" in the market. It's also built into CM 6.

try launcherProPlus widgets
thanks for your suggestions. i'll give those widgets a shot.

Have you tried the "Power control" widget? I do use LauncherPro, but I don't think it's specific to that.
Go to the market and search for "SwitchPro". It's awesome, and you can customise the appearance, actions, and number of buttons. Easily better than the power widget included with froyo.
Hello i saw a Galaxy Tab Handson and i saw very nice Widget. With yellow Color of the Numer of the "running applications in background" and when soomeone tab on there, their are a list of runing apps and it be able to close all at once or one by one.
And the tab is runinng the Froyo 2.2 So I want the widget for the HTC Desire.

Yes this one.. Can nobody Extract the APK from the Tab? the root is allready out.
Has a ruu or dump been released? As far as I know there hasn't been one. Ask over at the Galaxy Tab forums for someone to send it.
Only problem I can think of is that its a Samsung widget. No Samsung widgets have been ported to same res devices as of yet, let alone a GTab res to ours :/

I don't know for sure but I think that might only work with the TouchWiz launcher that is on the Samsung phones. I don't know if it would be as simple as installing an apk. Like how you can't use Sense apps on non-sense ROMs.
very-very useful widget and application!
If you want you can give my application a try. It's designed to be the same functionality as the original or even better. Still in beta though
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900918
It really is a great widget and one of my favorite things about Samsung. I wish it were available for other devices.
For what it's worth, the widget is called "Program Monitor" and the icon in the Shortcuts menu looks nothing like the widget itself.
I searched through pages in development but couldn't find anything on it is there a way to make the picture widget to work on CM7?
No htc widgets will work on cm7. They rely on the sense frameworks.
You cant even use the sense widgets on stock rom if you use a different launcher.
Thanks, any widgets similar to the one i am looking for that can be doeloaded from market where you can swype to change pictures
Not that im aware of, if i use one at all, its the stock one that only lets you pick one picture.
I know touchwiz is similar to sense in the way that its quite tightly intregrated into our android build. However, like some people im not keen on touchwiz and would prefer to use another launcher (laucher pro) but dont want all the other stuff running in the backgroud.
How can we do this safely, we can remove them...can we disable or pause? I heard something about being able to do this with titanium backup pro?
Any ideas?
My galaxy s 2 is in the mail but I have used other devices all different sizes and was not a problem.
Im coming from the point of view of adw ex.
Using Adw Ex with no issues.
