It doesn't out of the box, but I believe that it has the capability, if the OP can get this working then we can have it

I think yes, it from LG Optimus x2...tegra chipset
Well from my understanding. Radio has to be enabled in the kernel. And that might be why its not launching.

I guess you right, until I have boounlock I can't put radio work :S

No it will not. it would be a FM receiver not transmitter.

Both the At&T and Bell atrix user manual specifies that "you need to have headphones plugged in for the optional FM radio to work". The headpone cable is your antena.
The Orange UK Atrix is also "FM Radio with RDS" capable, according to the press release.
Now Motorola, why the hell can't I listen to radio on my Atrix, hum ??? This is very uncool of you moto, very uncool.

I suspect it's just because the update.zip file does not contain any mention of the correct model for Bell. The Bell model is a GT-i9000M. Anyone can update the zip file so I can try again?? Thanks.
Did you try the update method for the i9000? That one might work

Yes, I did. When it runs it shows i5800, i9000, sgh-i897 but not i9000m. I think it's a simple thing to just add the model number to the script, because I'm pretty sure it gets installed to the same places, but I'm no expert.
Edit: I found the updater script in the zip file and looked at it with notepad, but I'm scared to just add similar notations for the i9000M without some confirmation from someone who knows more.
It really is that simple as finding the few lines in the script and copying the two you need and adding the model name displayed in your settings > about phone.
I'd throw an update.zip for ya but I have to run soon. The worst that'll likely happen is the script won't run if you get the model name wrong.
nice so I'd give it a go

Sweet! It was that simple. I just added an M to the i9000 already in the file. Thanks guys for the feedback.

Frequencies for Bell are 850/1900. So it works on Rogers, Telus, ATT.
I still find it really strange that tmobile chose to add in utms 1900 to the phone...do they even have any unused spectrum in that band...its just really bazar

As in pertaining to accessing the LTE network, no. LTE and WiMAX are totally different network architectures, our phone would need a hardware fix if it were to access LTE.

There will never be a hardware fix. It requires an entirely different chipset with a new antenna. There is abolsutely no chance of gaining LTE on current phones.

According to a couple of articles I read a while ago stated Sprint could update their network to LTE with a software change and all the phones needed was a firmware update to be compatible with LTE but I'm not an expert in those fields, so I really can't comment if that's true or not

Difference is, this is not promoting piracy at all, maybe removing otherOS was harsh, but after all, you press the update button.

So will there ever be FM for the R800x? I heard that FM was disabled at the hardware level. Does this mean that it's impossible, or improbable that we will get FM? I have no idea how things work, but it almost sounds to me like there's a "switch" of some sort that has turned off the FM... Like I said though, I'm not knowledgeable at all xD

from my findings the fm chip is not conected to any antena
even if we enable fm on this device it cant get any station
so is useless

So does my brother's Droid X, everything completely stock and non-rooted. There's gotta be a tick in the sources somewhere, and hopefully get an FM tuner app to work with that module mentioned.
My wildfire which I use as an iPod touch alternative uses headphones to access the FM radio, I'm sure that uses the BCM something chipset but I cant remember what chipset exactly
anyway not with ti fm radio
and maybe with advanced soldering skills
