Hi,
I got a problem when flashing this Rom..
Everything works fine untill step 8..My phone goes in Recovery as soon as Odin finishes flashing..
Now the problem..When i press 'wipe data' my phone freezes..
I tried to flash the Rom with rooted and unrooted XXJPF, but i got the same problem both times
Any ideas why this happens?
Thanks in advance DoinG!
Anyone ?
HI,
I have had the same problem yesterday when I flashed it from XXJPM.
The phone freezed at the point "Formatting DATA..."
It can do it when I flash it from XXJPF.
Try to flash an Eclair ROM before flashing XXJPF, then flash Kyrillos 4.0 Final.
Hope this helps.
hi mateoldfield,
I had an Eclair ROM before XXJPF, but thanks for your help anyway.
Should I try to flash Kyrillos' from XXJPM?

Yes, you should try it, but I suggest you to wait for 4.1 Final.
Yep it's out now. I hope it's gonna work finally.
DoinG!
When your phone goes to recovery, just select reboot. Don't do a wipe, format or whatever, just reboot. That worked for me ^^
I have official froyo update via kies jp2. Mine is a unrooted g3. Can i flash 4.1 Rom? What process i have to follow to get 4.1. Will i lose my imei or mac address?

Reboot wipe problem
Hi all,
I rooted my Samsung Galaxy 3 with Kyrillos v4.0. Everything worked fine but I discovered that when I'm rebooting the phone it automatically forgets everything I made with the phone (options, synchronization, widgets, everything..). So it seems like it wipes the data on every reboot.
Anyone have an idea what the problem should be?
Could it be a problem that I had I5800XXJPM before I got Kyrillos?
It says I should need I5800XXJPF to upgrade to Kyrillos or something..
I hope u can help me,
Thanks!
I tried it and it works like a charm... Kyrillos rocks!

Yes you can flash 4.1 and you don´t need wipe. If your phone don´t work, then go to recovery, make wipe and after that flash 4.1
i tired to flash kyrillos' rom almost 10 times! bt no result! phone hangs at boot up!! so better leave it!
I use Kyrillos 4.1 since 3 days and everything works great , but every day it freezes one or two times! Sometimes in the market , sometimes in handcent. It's a great rom , but i don't want to reboot it every day several times.
Any ideas?

Isnt JPU the latest for froyo??
Anyways yeah dont use those if you want less of a brick risk.

This is JPU firmware with bootloader removed (99% impossible to hardbrick)
hope it helps
thank you all, downloaded a "no bootloader" stock rom, flashed it and everything works perfect

What about this I5800BAJP6 that i can see on the site? it seems to be newer. Isn't this one better?
Hey i've soft bricked my n7000..
basically i just need to know what exactly to do now, kernels etc
ideally id like to be running Midnote 3.3
anyone kind enough to reply with help would be seriously appreciated!
Maybe if you gave some more information on what how when and why ?
Nobody can help you on a 'hey i lost my car can someone tell me where on this planet i parked this morning?'
Agree on above poster. We need to know what rom uou were flashing from, by what method, and the issue now.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Fair enough was thinking there was a straight forward fix, as in just flash this and do this etc..
i was running Midnote 2.1, i was on LP1 and tried to flash Midnote 3.3 using CWM.. it wasn't flashing as i couldn't see the .zip rom at all..
i then done a few factory wipes and basically just wiped the davlik and cache and tried any options in CWM
The issue now is that when i boot im stuck at the samsung splash screen..
I can boot into recovery and into cwm..
And what exactly happends now ?
dead black screen ?
Samsung logo blocked ?
PC odin doesn't connect ?
Can you enter CWM recovery ?
Can you enter boot recovery ?
I think you better try and flash a safe GB kernel and rom first
Then do a full wipe, then flash whatever you like.
You can best flash through PC odin for the stock GB

Stuck at Samsung logo
Can enter CWM and recovery, odin works as far as i can tell
I would suggest trying to flash a stock gb rom via pc odin. If you get stuck at the factory.fs stage you may well be superbricked because of the cwm recoveries and wipes on lpy.
There are a few threads on sorting out a problematic emmc section. But we'll get to that afyer youve tried this.

Thank you, I don't mean to be an effort but you hardly know where I can get a safe GB kernel and rom? i just want to be sure as im getting kind of worried now
Check out dr ketans thread in the stickies of d3velopment section. Theres loaf of info there. Its pretty straight forward if you flash initially to an older rom for your region. Take a look itll make sense promise.

Lads i seriously appreciate this.. if i get my note back up n running i'll be delighted!
so if when i flash this stock gb rom using Odin i don't need a kernel at all right?

No, you just place the .tar file in Odin in the PDA section.

nope you dont need a kernel when flashing stock GB rom
but 1st keep ur fingers crossed and pray that you get through the ODIN installation method
copy the GB rom file in ODIN folder and open ODIN and click on PDA and select the downloaded GB ROM file and press START
You legends! the stock gb rom worked perfect...
now comes the slightly trickier part.. loading the Midnote 3.3 rom
anyone using this rom? 2.1 was great!
whats the safest way to flash this, kernel wise etc?
thanks again lads
also, now that im back on the stock gb rom.. do i need to root again????
i tried getting into cwm and it brought me into android recovery mode ( still had install zip from sd option)

Yes, you will need to root it if you didn't flash a GB pre-rooted ROM.
And I think the CWM.zip file is on drketan's thread.

You could try to do factory reset or to reflash 2.1 kdz file
My brother had same problem with bluetooth and i just pulled battery out of his phone and after that it worked :silly:
Factory reset erases every installed apps in the phone right?
that wouldn't be an option to me especially that it would just be a 'trial and error thing'
Guys please help!!

guess not. if you're on stock 2.1 (rooted) there's no way to change the system except flashing kdz, which means: factory reset
