Hello!
I am tring to find any file in which I could
change the connection settings permanently
to create a ROM for a Spaniard operator
from an O2 English one. Someone could
give me any clue?
Thanks
Changed
I solved it by making a dumprom to a Telefónica ROM and by coping three registry entries:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ConnMgr\Destinations\Opeartor_name]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ConnMgr\PROVIDERS\...CLSID...\Connections\Operator_name]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Comm\RasBook\Operator_modem_name or operator_name]
You have to use specific Operator_name, Operator_modem_name and CLSID which depend on your specific ROM.
I currently have GPRS and MMS fully operational using a Virgin network Pay as you go SIM on my M1000. If I have to do a hard reset then I have to manually enter all the connection settings manually.
I know that most network providors have CAB files in the extended ROM which usually set these up, mine used to set up the Orange ones before I upgraded to WM2003SE.
I'm no expert on CAB files so does anyone have an idiots guide to how I can produce one for my GPRS/MMS settings?
resurrected...
Bringing this one back to forefront...
Did anyone manage to do this?
Many thanks
Please see the following link for a suitable CAB file:

Hi,
How do I find the Operator number? I am using Cingular Service.
thanks
tee
1. Run Autoconfigurator
or
2. find key DetectNet or NetworkID in HKCU/AutoConfig/Network
What you mean by create string XPath ... and how to do it.
first of all, install regedit, or resco explorer with regedit plugin.
2. go to HKCU/AutoConfig/Network,
3. create string with name "XPath" and with value operator №
kropotov,
Forgive me as I am pretty new at reg edits. If my operator number is 302720 can you please tell me exactly what I need to type into the spaces.
When I select new string I get value name with New Value %1 already in the box below it and also Value data with nothing in the box below it.
Value name:
New Value #1
Value data:
I would greatly appreciate your help.
Thanks

I use resco exploer registry add-in.
In my case, operator# 25099
Lets begin!
1. HKCU/AutoConfig/Network
menu=>new=>string value
name-> XPath
String ->25099
done
!!!! turn off Atom for 30 seconds, to save changes!!!!!!
menu->exit.
thats all. soft reset.
kropotov,

Hi all,
My other half bought a Touch Plus yesterday and I've been adding software to it to make all that much better.
The contacts are stored on the SIM and I've copied them all into Pocket Outlook. I then made the reg tweak to hide the SIM contacts which worked immediately, hiding all the SIM contacts. However, when I soft reset the device (via software or holding down the power button and then re-powering on) the registry value goes back to what it was - showing the SIM contacts!
Is there any way that reg value can be kept to 0?
Cheers
ND
Hi
I have the exact same problem and asked this question previously here, never got a answer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359152
The first thing after a reboot is to hide my SIM contacts... If anyone have a solution it would be very nice.
Kind Regards
I have found a solution...
Download dotfred's excellent TaskManager/Registry Editor from: http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm
Copy the exe to wherever you want on your device,
Use the registry editor in there to set the ShowSIM value to 0.
Export that registry value... to \My Documents\HideSIMContacts.reg (for example)
Create a shortcut to the task manager exe in Windows\StartUp.
Edit the properties of that shortcut (I use Resco Explorer) and set the Target as follows:
"<path to task manager>" \My Documents\HideSIMContacts.reg /silent
Make sure you have "'s around the Task Manager path BUT NOT around the path for the reg file.
Reboot...
Bob's your uncle.
I had the same issue with my previous Orange UK stock ROM, don’t know why the registry tweak does NOT stick after SR on certain ROM’s :-/ so in the end I resorted to installing the attached cab which fixed the issue
On my current HTCAsia WEE ROM the registry tweak works so no need for the cab fix! Anyway for those with ROM where the registry tweak does NOT work, you can use the fix mentioned here by NinjaDonkey or install the attached cab and soft reset, that should do the trick
AWESOME...thanks, I have a locked rogers HTC Touch and have tried many different Reg tweaks that would not stick to hide the SIMs in my Contacts, but the NIKI Sim fix above finally got it. Thanks, thank you, thanx again.
nikisimfix

Hi, I make a .CAB file with WIFI network settings, following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1227587&postcount=20
Now, I want to go a step ahead, and I need to Encrypt resultant .CAB so nobodys can read the Network Key (This cab is going to be distributed, can´t use a local encryption software) or Write maybe if its possible write network Key in _setup.xml with a coded string that can´t be used in windows mobile standart WIFI dialog.
Someone knows if it´s possible to make something like that so nobody´s can read the network key inside the CAB.
Thanks in advance.
up... nobody´s knows anything about this?
im not sure u can encrypt a cab..
why dont u use the setupdll?
it's easier and u can do anything u want whith that
