I am hoping i have more success getting an answer / resolution than i did to my last question on here when no one replied
I have Go Contacts and Go Dialer installed, i actually use the dialer than came with Sergio Coredroid 1.6 build as it looks good but i use Go Contacts instead of people for my address book.
When i go to make a call a box pops up asking me to confirm call, i went into settings and unticked this box and that was ok but the following day when i turned the phone on and when i went to make a call the same box popped up, i went into settings again but this time the box was still unticked so i cant understand why this box still pops up anytime i go to make a call, i also cant see anything to uninstall go dialer just go contacts which id like to keep but if this box keeps popping up asking me to confirm call ill have to uninstall it, is there a resolution to this?
Isn't anyone else having this problem and or has a resolution?
Dear me this is the second question in the last week on the Android Q & A ive asked without anyone answering this forum used to be so helpful
thanks

It's not like that, reason for no reply may be that no one else has ever faced this issue on HD2, you can try asking this question in general Android forum (as it's not device specific I believe)
Thanks
Could be that not many ppl are online at this time, also not many on hd2 use go contacts & dialer
try this thread, in the Android Apps and Games forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=992946
there are dialer related Q's in there, poss' more likely to get a response

Edit: @jeetu1981, i was typing when you replied... great minds n all that!
A couple of times when I install an add-on app, it doesn't show in the normal application area under settings to be removed. I found that if I go to the Market and click My Apps, then I can see the add-on app and remove it.

lol, no prob. buddy!!
Thanks
Go contacts v1.14 introduced the call confirm feature.
To turn this off follow this procedure:
Start the the dialer
Menu -> Settings -> Uncheck Call Confirm under dial preferences.
However I found that after a while the application will get purged from memory, and then when Go Contacts is not running (or you force stop it) all outbound calls via bluetooth and Direct Dial shortcuts get prompted with a call confirm. To resolve this just start the dialler (i.e. bring up the dialler keypad or the o contacts application)
Hope that helps

I now run gingerbread as my daily rom and it is awsome. One feature that has been added recently is the vibrate after call is connected. I was wondering if it is possible to disable this feature? Full details of the rom and phone are in my signature below. It is an awsome rom and would recommend it. Love working led lights and usb mas storage. Just would really like to disable the vibrate.
I would like to keep the main vibrate option available so that when I do have an in comming call I can keep the phone on silent/vibrate mode.
im not sure about that rom but it should be under settings, call settings.

I think it was an option the chiefs put into the rom rather than a native function. I was just hoping to be able to disable it again. I know it is not on other gingerbread roms, but I like the functionality of this one and would just like to disable it.
Ahem...24 thanks and not able to go to settings, call settings, and uncheck "vibrate on answer"...?
Sorry I'm rude, but XDA servers, although they cannot talk, just agree you shouldn't have posted ANOTHER thread. This is just useless cluttering.
My 2 cents.
And no, it's been answered before, and wasn't worth a thread. Just so u know.
Like there or elsewhere.

In Gingerbread gone into settings -> call settings and options I have are:
Fixed Dialing numbers
Voicemail Service
Voicemail settings
Call forwarding
Aditional Settings -> Caller ID Call waiting
Accounts -> Receive incomming calls
Use interet calling
Nothing regarding the vibrate on call answer. If you have a look at the thread the rom, the Chief actually added that option him self. I think he modified the framework file to enable it. I have used other gingerbread roms that do not have this function and just wondered if it is possible to disable it by changing the code.
I have also disabled all other Haptic Feedback settings in the sound and keyboard options, and gone in to the phone dialer to see if there are any native settings there. I might be able to fix it by downlaoding another dialer and using it, but I would prefer to use the native dialer if possible.
That was also the reason why I created this thread as it is a spesific option on this build. I did ask the question on the orgional rom's thread but did not get any reply. It may not be possible to do which is fine but I was just curious.
I was having same problem with my Thunderbolt....my problem turned out to be the "profile" setting I was on. I went back to the default profile and it solved my problem.
I no longer run gingerbread, and I'm on my cell so I can't see your signature. But at one time vibrate on answer was a standard feature, and could be disabled in the settings, just like stated above.

Hi All,
I just for the SGS II the other day and have some questions.
A few questions for the experts..
1. Can you change the widget that it comes with in the notification area? Meaning is there an option to add flight mode etc? I know I can get widgets after market but the one Samsung bundles is quite good.
2. Gmail icon, for me it doesnt have the number of emails notification. Anyone else have this? If so can you recommend another gmail icon that will notify and take me to the gmail app?
3. I also tried the Wifi Unlock (App from Market), but every time it goes to sleep I still get the enter the pin to get in. What am I doing wrong? The whole idea was not to type the pin when at home with wifi on?

Hi,
As the upper sticky states : If your thread can be phrased as a question, it belongs in Galaxy S II Q&A
It's really the best way to share useful information. I bet you can understand that, 'cause if you had read all the threads, you would've found some of the info you're looking for; except that everyone that wants answers creates a thread... If we centralize all useful info and questions in one thread, it's easier to find it. Wouldn't you agree ?
My bad. Sorry. Hopefully a mod can move this.
Hello to all, I am new to this forum, so, please be kind to me!
Here is my question: I paired my new Atrix with the radio in my car to use the hands free option as I did with my previous BB. Since I installed Skype every time I call a contact, the screen of the radio freezes after pressing the green phone Icon. Recently I discovered that the phone asks (only in the phone´s screen) if I want to use "Dialer" or Skype. Once confirmed on the touchscreen, the call originated at the radio proceeds normally. I searched all alternatives but cannot find the menu to make all calls by default using "dialer". As this is quite annoying I was thinking of deleting Skype cause I actually don´t use it that much. Can anyone give me a clue?

Thanks a lot for your help.... but it did not work (no defaults were set!) I used the "force stop" option... but this did not work either. It seems there is sort of a resident command line that asks "dialer or Skype" which runs even if Skype is off :-(
Hi all,
Just upgraded from a S3 and can’t seem to get the option to forward a text message.
I used to do this on my S3 by a long press on the text message I wanted to forward.
When I do this now...I only get 2 options....copy text and delete!
On the S3 I have many options.
What am I doing wrong?
How do I forward the message?
Many thanks in advance.
Screenshot attached....
You appear to have posted this in an number of forums. That's bad form, you should stick to one thread. The same amount of time put into a straightforward search would have seen your question answered already. The answer can be found in the S5 manual, myriad search results or on Youtube. Long press on the message balloon instead of the unopened message. Then select forward from the popup menu.
Google search: forward text message s5
Top search result.
Or even better, upgrade to a better third party SMS app.
If you still have problems, post a .PNG screen shot and provide details of your firmware version, app version, what you have tried, et cetera.
Enjoy
.

This is the first time I have posted this question.
I did do a Google search and the answers that were coming up were a long press on the balloon as you mention.....this doesn’t work on my phone.
I only have 2 options when I do that
1) Delete
Or
2) Copy text
(Screenshot of long press attached)
I have also attached screenshot of my phones details.
It’s very odd, how I’d only have such limited options when I long press on the speech bubble.
Any help appreciated.
You didn't tell us what SMS app version you have or anything about your SMS or APN configuration, so there is no way to discern what might be amiss on your phone.
At a guess, try installing the stock SMS app here
Rename the old SMS app and the corresponding odex file if your system is odexed. Clear your cache and move the new SMS app to /system/priv-app per the directions in the post (do not install via the package manager).

Hi I had this same problem but it appears you may have set your phone to EasyMode. In Easy mode your Samsung S5 collapses your phones functions for specified applications to the bare essentials.
The solution:
1. Find the EasyMode option and set your phone to "Standard Mode"
2. Remain in EasyMode and uncheck Messaging.
Worked for me. Hope it works for you too.
Or you can just Copy text and paste into a new message.

Hi, My friend has the Note 7 Global Lavender version, like me, he is 82 years old and is having some trouble with answering calls because of the not-so-easy to use green phone slider. Even I sometimes have problem with this one.
So can someone help me with an alternative and a small guide on how to install it(if not like other Apps) and set it as default, so when call comes in that is the one he see? There is no need to change anything else.
Please don't refer me to google, the problem is not that there aren't any Apps but that there are too many of them, and I can't try them all until i find one without a slider but where you just push the green button to answer call - He is starting to regret he bought this phone, as it is not so friendly for old people.
I hope someone here can help.

Thank you, and yes it looks like what I wanted though it is a very sophisticated app with a lot more functions than I wanted, maybe too much - it is still for an elderly man. Also looks like there have been some complaints that you get more spam calls after you use Truecaller and that they upload your data to their servers for everyone to see - not for me!
I like to hear other options if there are some Preferebly close to the stock dialer, but without slide and only push or an option to set it yourself. And not one that takes advantage of people.
Thank you

You could try google dialer apk from apkmirror.com, it has a simple slide gesture to answer and end calls and isn't too bloated with useless features

Thank you for your answer, I will look at it but would prefer to avoid slide since that is the problem. The Note 7 has slide, but its not easy to use not even for me and I have had many phones with "slide dialer".
Finding "push button" dialer has proven to be some of a challenge, also when you take in mind it should be one not stealing your data
Hope someone can come up with a solution for this
Guess not, but i found this one and it might do the trick, testing next week when my friend available: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.luckyme.dadapp2
Update: forget the app above - it works just after install but doesn't do anything when pushing the Answer button. After that it never pop up anymore . Uninstalled it!
If you can root the device and install google dialer framework , you can set the google phone app which has better slider : you just need to slide up, holding the phone icon isn't necessary. And custom roms can also be easier for him as compared to miui.
anyways, i wonder if you could find a feature in miui that makes the incoming calls screen always in 'heads up' mode. That way he just needs to touch the accept or reject. I m not sure if miui provides that

I'm sorry and tank you for your input, but I'm not rooting his phone to solve this - too many things can go wrong because you have to unlock bootloader and then install TWRP first before you can root - or so the guide here on XDA states.
I hope for a different solution
