[Q] Have you experienced the data connectivity bug? - Atrix 4G General

I want to know how many people have problems with the data connectivity bug. Normally data connectivity is lost completely or starts to creep after extensive use of bluetooth streaming, use of wifi, turning wifi on/off, after regaining cell signal after complete signal loss e.g. in underground garages or tunnels. Changing APN or toggling airplane mode let the arrows under the data symbol completely disappear. Only fix at the moment is to reboot.

I have the issue, it's the *only* issue I've had with my Atrix (SF Bay Area AT&T). Turning wifi/airplane mode on/off doesn't do the trick for me, only a restart. It's weird because my status will show that the signal strength is perfectly fine and that the "Mobile network type" is "HSDPA" , but the "Mobile Network State" will remain as "disconnected".
The battery manager shows the "Cell standby" numbers, and I believe that "Mobile Network State" impacts the "Time without a signal" percentage. I've gotten that percentage to be as high as 25% before after having the phone unplugged for 12 hours (3 hours without a data connection!!!).
I know it's not a network issue because I came from an iPhone 3g, which could successfully recover after losing a data connection in the same circumstances. I hope somebody fixes this soon

I've had it, only way to fix it is reboot for me

It became really quiet about this problem. I wonder if the people become used to reboot the phone once a day or if there are other workarounds....for me so far only rebooting the phone helps...

I lose data when I go into the Market. An error message pops up that says "A network error has occured. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen."

[FIX]Signal Drops / Bad Reception / Battery Drain Issues with Nand Android

Well after many searches and a lot of trial and error, I think ive finally solved my problem of dropped/no phone signal for NAND builds, which in turn has also made my battery life way better since the phone is no longer constantly searching for signal Basically its 4 steps, ive tried each individually with no changes but for some reason when applied all together it works wonders. They are as follows:
1: dial *#*#4636#*#* and go to phone information and choose 'gsm auto PRL'
2: go to settings>mobile networks and check 'use only 2g networks'
3: go to settings>wireless networks>wifi>advanced and change wifi sleep policy to 'never'
4: go to app store and download "wifi keep alive" (free). choose wifi behavior 'always on' and advanced options 'enable workaround 2'
using these 4 steps i reduced my time without signal from 74% to 12% in 16 hours, and im getting 4-5 green bars all the time, at home and work hope this helps
I'm not an expert, but doesn't that mean you are stuck in 2G-Mode for Data Transfer? I believe 3G if available would be faster..... or am i wrong?

yeah, it stays in 2g for data but for me its an acceptable trade off to actually be able to recieve calls. plus you can always switch 3g back on if you plan on doing something that uses a lot of data and switch it back off when youre done
damm i was excited until i saw that you have to disable 3G
Is this a common problem?
or... you could just go to settings/wireless&networks/mobile networks and change the network mode to gsm only (which is 2g) so, same thing.. and you know what? i still have signal issues, just not as bad..

yea i think that option is only on Desire or froyo builds, on all of the GB's ive used it says 2G. i suppose its not gonna work for everyone, it probably still depends on your coverage area, but it definately helped me A LOT. ive been using these settings for the past 3 days and my time without signal has dropped down to 0-5% from the 55-75% it was before, and im no longer missing calls
very useful tips
I ticked the "Use 2G only" checkbox in my wireless settings and all connection problems seem to be gone! (for now)... My data connection used to be terrible... voice connection shaky.
Thanks a lot!

Galaxy Note: loss of data signal, help!

Hi,
I bought my new Note in June. It's great, but I have a little problem. In my school, I carry the Note in my pocket. INSIDE the school, I don't have signal of any sort (data signal/for calls/for SMS), and my friends have the same problem. But the last week I have this problem: when I left the school, I recived again the data and mobile signal. But now, when I go out, I only recive data signal. Putting on Airplane mod/turning off and on data signal does not works. It loses the signal. I have to restart the phone and THEN I see the H+ icon with the two arrows. Outside of the school I HAVE data signal, because when I restart the Note, it comes again! Please I need help, I don't want to keep restarting my phone every time I left the school!!!
Greetings!

Similar issue happens at home but I have an at&t microcell and attribute losing data to that. I only notice that I lose 3g data when I try to send an mms and I get an error that says 'will try sending sms when data returns'. I just put the phone in airplane mode and then turn airplane mode back off. That seems to fix it. There was a thread a while back that mentioned a tip on disabling fast lock or fast wake something in the mobile network settings for at&t. The poster said it was enabled by default and that it did no good to our phones other than to make them slower connecting to at&t 3g. I hope someone remembers that thread.

Do you know a solution for International version? Entering in Airplane mode or turning off data does not works.

[Q] After leaving a WiFi area, N4 cycles between 3G/H/disconnect

The topic says it all! I have a Nexus 4, complete factory stock (unrooted) - Android 4.4.4 and firmware KTU84P
When I leave a WiFi area, my phone seems to get stuck in a cycle of (looking at the network signal icon): 3G -> H -> blank (mobile data disconnect) -> 3G -> H -> blank -> etc.
It repeats this ad infinitum until I turn on Airplane Mode then turn it off. Then it goes back to normal, i.e. staying at "3G" unless it needs to transmit data in which case it shows "H".
I live in a city and have service with a major provider and no one else has reported any cellular service issues in this area.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Obviously, I am having mobile data transmission issues whenever this happens. i.e. if I try to access the web while the icon is "blank" web pages do not load and Chrome/FFox errors out. I have to be really quick and try to load the page which it shows "3G" or "H". The problem is, each state only lasts for about 2-3 seconds so if they web page can't load within that time I get screwed
same here
i'm having the same problem, just not so fast changing status.
cant load more than 2/3 sites without data connection failling...
anybody knows how to fix it?

Leon LTE (MS345) Problem: "Searching..." forever but SIM is OK

Just posting this in case somebody has some ideas. I've had a MetroPCS LG Leon LTE (MS345) for over a year without problems, but now it started losing its mobile connection sporadically, for a few minutes or a few hours, as if there was no SIM in the phone.
Symptoms:
The 4G indicator disappears from the notification bar (signal strength indicator shows good signal).
The lock screen says "Searchng..."
Calls fail with the "Emergency Calls Only" message
SMS won't send
I get a "Service Unavailable" error when I choose Settings/Call/Additional Settings
WiFi is unaffected (and WiFi calling seems to work, though it has always been hit or miss)
Things I've already tried:
Checked relevant settings, APNs, etc
Checked the contacts on the SIM socket, all looks good.
Reset Phone to factory defaults
Replaced SIM (MetroPCS did this for free)
New phones are relatively cheap, but I don't have a burning desire to upgrade, so I'm hoping for another option.
I'm having this same problem. I left for an area with no service and came back to an area with service to find that my phone will constantly state Emergency Calls Only and no service. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cant select my network manually, it always stays auto mode, and select roaming net

Hello, it there anyone that can help me with this bizzare problem. I work in border area, and my phone keeps getting into roaming, instead trying to use my own selected network. I tried to select it manually, no, it always goes to roaming and wont let me select my parent network.
Does anyone have some similar problems, thy.
You can see on pictures. My network is HT HR, and it keeps getting into ERONET, even when there is HT HR signal, because my co worker has same operator and has full 4g signal on same spot, but my damn phone rather goes to roaming.
Is there a command or fix for me to select one network and disable roaming full. THY!
