my streak seems to be working fine, however, if the cover back, for any reason, gets loose turning the streak off, It won't power on.I have to plug it on my computer or the wall, and will get a screen with a battery with a <!> sign in it and 0%. So I have to charge the streak again everytime the cover back gets loose, no matter how much battery charge it had just before the cover back issue.
Try to recalibrate the battery and check the back plate for wearing signals. If the pin seems damaged try replacing it.
can also try to reflash rom.
call dell & have them RMA it. I wouldn't stand for that.

Long story short awhile back I forgot my 8125 on the trunk of my car while it was raining/wet outside and drove off to test drive my car. When I got back I noticed that my phone was missing so I backtracked and found the phone lying in the road. I picked up all the pieces I could find. So while waiting on a replacement battery to arrive to see if it would power up, I connected it to the usb charger and of course nothing happened UNTIL I pulled the charger out and all of a sudden the screen lit white for like a second and went blank. Could this mean that this phone still works?
Well,it depends,if the phone is still not short circuit, due to the moister present in the phone,as you say,you charged and the screen lit up for a second and then died.I wud rather suggest,if you are able to open the phone (Dismantle) and try to check if no moisture is present, but still clean it and wipe out any moisture with a soft cloth or use a hair dryer (Hot air) to dry out the moisture.Get the battery fully charged with the wall charger and try to power on and check if it works fine, otherwise,if it had short circuit, then it might be a dead meat.
Cheers!
My friend's been using my Nexus one since I've been playing with the new iPhone...
He told me this morning, while it was on the charger, he was sending a text when the phone powered off. Hasn't powered on since...
I tried removing the battery and re-inserting, removing the battery plugging it into the wall and putting the battery in... tried holding trackball + power to turn on... nothing...
Now it just sits here with the orange charging light.... if on the wall adapter without battery it blinks between green/orange...
Any ideas how to bring it back to life? I can't call HTC because I did a DIY digitizer replacement...
sounds like he broked somethinger.
I'm hoping not... light turned green showing battery is charged but still no luck...
I hope I'm not out of an expensive phone haha
Maybe he dropped the phone and the dispkay rattled and got partially unhooked.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I'd disassemble and check all connections. Your DIY job could easily have left loose connections which your friend could have caused to come free.
Don't know if this will help you, but my power button is broke, so I can only cut the phone on if I insert the usb cable, wait for the light to come on, pull the battery, and as soon as the light goes out put the battery back into the phone, and it will cut on after a second or two.
Now when I plug it into the charger, it just goes to the Core Cell splash screen, for like a split second then turns off, then does it repeatedly... I donnu, how to charge my phone, I donnu what to do, please help.
like i ttly hope someone can halp...i donnu wut it iz.
i wuz in yor phonez checking ur batterys, and it looked mkay to meh.
lol.
I don't know WTF is going on here... My phone is like constantly just reloading the same thing, every 4 seconds, it just loads the Splash screen for less than a second, turns off, then does it again, this is while it's plugged into the charger, when it's taken off the charger, nothing happens, I can't ever turn the phone on...
You've obviously got a bad phone.....take it in to your local store T-mobile and have them look at it.
Have you tried plugging your phone into the computer to try syncing/charging it that way, or just into the wall?
I tried the computer, that takes longer to get the splash screen to come up, & there is no T-mobile in Australia, plus I don't have a stock rom, and HSPL.
Try taking your battery out and making sure that none of the pins that make contact with the battery are bent or broken. It is easy to bend the pins and it can prevent charging of the battery.
Another option may be to hold the volume down button during this startup loop and see if you can get into the bootloader. It should charge in the bootloader and it may stop the looping. After charging for a while just restart and all should be well.
I have also had this and other strange things happen when the battery is depleted or very low. I try to not get below 10% anymore just in case.

I fixed the issue last night, I chucked my Battery into the Freezer, for like... more than 8 hours, woke up, and plugged my phone back together, and it charged, without booting up and restart
So all good
Obviously, your battery was terrified by what happenned to the chicken and the turkey in your freezer and decided to behave!
I really don't think it's a good idea to put a freezing cold battery into a warm handset.....that's a recipe for condensation and rust and/or water damage.
Ok i got an extremely bad problem
i brought a hd2 from ebay with a fault, which was the person said he dropped the phone and the screen cracked then he replaced it with new screen and digitizer, but he said after he did that the phone only starts up sometimes, anyway i won the bid and when i recieved it i put the charger in and it turned on by itself and was stuck ar htc screen i took the charger out and the phone went off, so i put the charger back in again and it didnt turn on this time, tookout battery and did reset and hard reset and still nothing? the phone doesnt have hardspl.
so i opened the phone up and look to see if anything was lose which it wasnt and i also manged to damage the volume flex cable and the bottom buttons flex!
so i left my phone overnight and in the morning i put the battery in and put it on charge and A RED LED LIGHT CAME ON!!!! which means it was charging so i thought if i press the reset button it come on, so i pressed the soft reset and nothing came on and the red light dissapeared and it doesnt come back again?
Can anybody help me whats wrong?
Since the previous owner has dropped the phone, anything could have went wrong.
First, check the battery pins on your phone, and make sure they are straight (not bent, not eve a little)
Hi I tryed that but it still don't work, also to follow up I put my htc in fridge for 5 mins and put in usb and orange light comes on so I left it for couple of hours and after it finished charging it virbrates and screen comes on but it just stays black so I took out battery and it didn't startup, so battery is fully charged and I. Put phone back in fridge and put usb back in and orange light came on again, so this time I pull out usb cable and the light is still on??? And I pull out battery and it goes off I don't know what's wrong???? Its driving me nuts!!!
Edit - ignore what I wrote above, okay I left phone in fridge and I put battery in and then I put in usb and orange led light comes on then the phone vibrates and the htc logo screen comes up but it is frozen there and I can't reset because I have no buttons because I broke the flex ribbon. I pull out battery and it turns off and it doesn't come back on so I put usb in and then battery and nothing but I can feel a tiny bit of vibration but not as strong as before. Its soo wierd the phone only powers when I leave it in fridge.
really need a solution fast
Please guys I really need a solution, don't leave me hanging. I was going to buy a new motherboard but I don't know whether its worth it because I font want to waste money.
I can't answer your question. But I know for fact that if the hd2 overheats monsterously the processor melts off it's spot or something and the phone starts to reboot at 25-30 Celsius degrees and that could explain cooling it down lets it boot. My suggestion is to sell the phone on Ebay as SLIGHTLY damaged Hahahah!
infact thats what i done i put it on ebay if anyone wants it let me, mint condition except boot failure I don't think it the processor because I can connect to usb and it comes as qualcomm data
The phone tries to turn on because I see the vibration motor turn once but nothing else happens?
facepalm.
....
Was there any need of facepalm makes you look like a retard. Don't do it please
So the other day while minding my own business, I pulled out my phone to use it's calculator for some accounting work. Just as a side note, I keep my phone in my front pocket, and do not wear skinny jeans. When I pulled it out, I looked at the back and it had a crack going down the center of the glass with a slight bulge where the battery is. As soon as I got home, I pulled the battery out and saw that the backside was bulging outwards. It bulged so bad that it managed to crack the glass even with one of those gel-like protectors on it . I tossed it aside and put it my spare battery, which should have been good. This is where the interesting stuff starts happening.
Slowly but surely, the lifespan of my battery would get shorter till the point where as soon as I unplugged it, it would die. It got so bad that It would die around 95%. When it would charge, the percentage would vary a lot, making a very interesting graph in the battery app I have. Not only that, but sometimes when I would restart my phone, it would be a completely different percentage than it was before. On top of that, when the phone would die, it would be at a different percentage than when it was still alive. I would have to plug it into a charger in order for it to start up again. If I did not, it would sometimes get into a boot loop where it would say google, turn off, then turn itself back on, rinse and repeat until I held the power button forcing it off.
After I changed the battery, I rooted it and put the Carbon nightly rom on it, but in order to eliminate possible problems, I did do a factory reset to the phone to make sure it was either of those.
Now I did put a "new" battery from ebay in it, but I am still having the same issue. However, the battery I believe was not new because it still had glue on the back of it from a previous nexus. My actual new battery should be here tomorrow I hope.
Could there be a problem with the batteries, or could there be a problem with my logic board? I have tried two different chargers, the LG one provided with the phone, and a rocket fish wall charger, same problem. Attached are two different pictures of the battery graph. The sharp drops are where it dies, and the sawtooth wave is it on charge. (Don't hurt me! I know I'm not supposed to post outside links, but this is absolutely necessary for you wonderful people to help me! Just remove the space in the link and it will work)
