Stuck in RSD mode - Atrix 4G General

I looked at the motorola forums and saw a guy asking the same question and he's got no answer. I did an update last night this morning the phone says
Failed boot 2
Starting RSD Mode
My phone is not rooted and never has been. This is a brand new device. After a while it says battery too low to flash. Can the battery charge in RSD mode? Can anyone help with advice that won't void my warranty?

Sounds like you have two choices:
1) Exchange the unit with AT&T since you did nothing wrong.
2) Since you are on these forums, you can read up on how to install the SBF recovery image via the RSD tool. There's a number of threads all dealing wit hthis and rooting the phone.
If you have never done this or have no desire to fool around with the phone, just get it exchanged under warranty.

Ok thanks. I don't want to make a half-assed attempt to fix it myself and end up voiding the warranty. I'll just RMA the device. Thanks.

also, no, the battery does not charge in recovery mode.

not helpfull at all...

HELP! Failed to boot! Can't start RSD or Fastboot support

I am currently unable to boot into anything, no RSD, no Fastboot nothing. I try holding down up volume and down volume. Here's what it says when i try to power up.
SVF 105:1:2
Failed to boot 0x1000
Here's what i did.
I followed the steps exactly to install the stock 2.3.4 ATT update. Everything was fine. Then i decided to start over and install kennethpenn's custom rom. So i tried to flash the 1.8.3 sbf.
i foolishly started surfing other websites and didn't pay any attention to my phone. then when i looked back it was completely black screen and RSD lite said:
Failed flashing process. Failed flashing process. Phone {0000}: Error switching phone to BP Pass through mode (0x70BE); phone disconnected
Thats it. now i can't do anything. Please help.
It's called "bricked". Now search for that term and you'll find answers!
Yeah, I think you're screwed their man... Kennethpenn had the same issue with his Atrix I think.... $600 brick
doesnt sound good...
where in the process exactly did you decide to start over and install kenneths custom rom?
i know its bricked. i'm just wondering how bricked...
i was in the process of starting over to install kennethpenn's ROM. i was flashing the full 1.8.3 sbf.
do you think ATT will take it back under warranty if i play dumb?

What did you do to cause it? Same thing as OP?
I'm tellin ya I think there is something wrong with that damn 1.83 sbf itself! The older ones never had any problems! I'm done with it!

If it does not go to the moto logo screen that means something messed up your IPL/Bootloader, which means you are pretty screwed.

You could just say that you never got around to updating to 1.8.3 (kind of a long shot since it reminds you every hour), and when you installed the update it would not restart. If you have a backup phone, you could just wait till the new update releases and use the same excuse.
If you hard bricked, there is most likely no way they can check if you were messing around with anything. It is worth a shot, but like you said just play dumb

im sorry this happend to you guys, i hope everything goes well with insurance and what not. i made a warning on the guide for people not to flash back until a safe method is found!
i had ur problem a few seconds ago!
rsd stoped at " switching phone to BP Pass through mode " at 33%.
and after a hour nothing happend!
i decided to disconnect the phone but after that i lost RSD,fastboot,.....
i removed the battery for a while and after that i powerd the phone up but it was the same as before.
i left it on moto red logo and after a few second it said:
failed to boot 4
starting RSD mode
and now its working!
but i didnt get " Failed flashing process " like you!
i got one coming through warranty be here no later then tuesday
i guess i didn't understand the warnings. now i see them, only too late. it seems like att will send me a new one.

anyone have a cwm backup pre 2.3.4 they can try?
att is sending a new one. it was easy since i'm still within the 30 days of opening my account. lesson learned:
THOROUGHLY READ ALL WARNINGS!!! I hope my fail can prevent others from going through it. THANKS EVERYONE!
is this 4.5.91 specific? I flashed between 4.5.40 and 1.83 sbf a few times without problem.

Please Read, Need Help ASAP

So im new to motorola, really liking the atrix, just got it 3 days ago. It was on 2.3.4. I installed RSD lite, downloaded the bootloader unlock sbf, and tried to flash. it got to 98%, then reset my phone, and now it is in the rsd menu.
It says "no OS detected, going to rsd mode." I cannot flash in rsd mode, when i to flash the unlock, it says unable to retrieve interface handle. Im fairly certain I fully bricked as my phone cannot boot, but before i run to the store and plead ignorance does anybody have any advice?
Also, what exactly went wrong?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871&highlight=automatic
i think its just a soft brick but im not sure sry still new with the atrix myself maybe this will help

DERP. I figured it out but thanks for responding, the fact that it didnt flash to 100 percent and said failed is what scared me, but it was just a soft brick as far as i can see.

[Q] Help after rooting Flipside

I am a COMPLETE Noob at rooting but I am familiar with jailbreaking. Well I just rooted my motorola flipside using SuperOneClick. After that I turned it off and it took me to this screen.
Bootloader
91.7B
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB
What now? I am confused. What do I do after this?
Thank you in advance.
You are in sbf flash mode... Maybe if you are lucky... A regular reboot might get you out...
The scary part about being there... Is you can kill your battery cuz it won't charge in that mode
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
Hi lazy531!
Ok, well, if You are lucky, may be a simple reboot will make you go to normal android system boot, but if you may get at this same mode that you post after removal battery and press power button WITHOUT battery for at least 20 sec, and if this do not restore you to normal android... You may messed something with the rooting procedure...
So, in order to recover Your phone you may will need to reflash your flipside with an original sbf flash for flipside...in that case read and follow the info on this link, read all before do the process so try to be sure about to avoid brick your phone:

Good luck and best regards!

Unlocked Nexus 6P Stuck in a Bootloop - Proper Reset Necessary?

Since I got my Nexus 6P sometimes it could just hang and then restart, I thought this was nothing major so I did nothing about it. Today however, I got a couple of these restarts in one day and after the last one I can't boot. The unlocked bootloader message appears, then the Google logo and after that it keeps looping. I can get into bootloader, however when I try anything there (boot into recovery, BP tools or "factory") it just starts looping again. I have tried restoring nexus 6p system images with Google's "flash-all" bat file, and with Heisenberg's method on 2 different android versions and it goes through without problem, however I'm still stuck in a bootloop.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Try flashing all of the factory image files manually. If it still fails to boot, contact Google / Huawei for an RMA.

I've been through 5 so far. I'll give them a call tomorrow morning and see how it goes. Hopefully the warranty still covers me. I've done some digging around, and what is happening to me is the exact same thing as what is happening to some people through the OTA nougat update, with the only solution being exactly what you said.
I just really hope I can actually get a replacement as I have done nothing wrong on my side, it seems to be purely Huawei's fault. Thanks anyway.
Called them this morning. The person on the phone said that because the phone was rooted, it would need out of warranty repairs (which is ridiculous as this exact issue happens to people that were never rooted and didn't even unlock the bootloader, who can get a replacement for free). I'll see how it goes.

The guy at Huawei didn't really know what the warranty covers. I mentioned trying to restore from Google's factory images (implying that I unlocked the bootloader) and he said that this might have voided the warranty (which I'm pretty sure it hasn't) as it is a software modification in a sense, but he's not entirely sure. They're going to send me a box to send the phone to them, and through that they'll be able to tell that no modifications have happened I hope (it's technically all stock and unrooted now, it just doesn't boot up). If they do try and charge me, I'll call the actual repairs team (as they're not available today) and explain the situation. No way am I paying for something like this as it hasn't happened through my own fault.
Under Europe regulations THEY have to formally prove the software modifications lead to the hardware fault (if that's a hardware fault) and that would be really bad publicity for Huawei. Not sure how UK applies that to its local right.
Root may very well void the warranty based on an old thread on XDA here that's buried in the general section somewhere, but an unlocked bootloader absolutely will not void the warranty.
Hi, can someone please upload the build.prop for nexus 6p 7.1 dev preview, I did some changes and now stuck in boot loop, also the backed up copy that I have has previous version names and all according to 7.0 , I am stuck in twrp and don't have computer then how is it possible to make changes directly from twrp terminal, I tried "vi build.prop" and was able to see build.prop but couldn't edit, Thanks

For anyone wondering, I got the phone the other day and they fixed it under warranty. No extra costs or anything (I enclosed a letter giving proof as to why I believe it should still be under warranty, and it worked fine). The serial number and IMEI has changed, so it leads me to think that it was indeed a motherboard failure. Thanks for the help!

Warning ! MUST READ :)

From 4 days , I decided to root my device and I installed and flashed the latest releases of TWRP AND SU from this forum ..and I followed the steps carefully which ended up in wiping all the phone data + damage in software.. I took the phone to Huawai center to get it fixed .. They said that I have a virus that completely damaged the hard drive and some parts of the motherboard and EVEN they could not fix it and thanks god they gave me a new phone although I broke the insurance by unlocking the bootloader but they didnt notice. Finally, I would like to advice all people here who are looking for a root not to try anything at this forum because it is not explained properly and TWRP is not safe at all.

Don't believe in everything that people tell you!
What do you mean ? What zips/IMG/TWRP did you flash?
I rooted my phone based on instructions in XDA and everything is working as it should.
What type of virus is it? Can you be more specific please.

A virus which "damages" hard drive and motherboard, is new for me. Does the phone have an hard drive at all?
And they don't notice the unlocked bootloader, but they replaced the phone with void warranty.
Really?

I mean the storage for the phone instead of 32 gb was 0 gb .. when I entered TWRP Recovery it showed me that .. and yes they replaced it for me .. My warranty appeared as active at their computers .. it didnt recognize that i unlocked the bootloader,, but i went to them on the same day so maybe that's why.

First of all , I downloaded the ADB drivers to my pc then I downloaded the TWRP 3.0.3 from the forums here.. then I flashed it to my device thru fast boot and then I added the SU 2.79 zip file which i downloaded from here as well then I went to TWRP Recovery and Pressed install on the SU , and what happened is that during the installation the device reboot immediately without installing which caused some sort of wiping data and staff which I did not understand.. and found my phone stuck at the screen which says this device is untrusted.
It showed 0 because of data encryption ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Glad you have a new phone with no problem. If you want to avoid all this trouble in the future, keep your phone as stock as possible and wait for official updates for your model.
I told before and I say it again: Don't believe in everything that people tell you!
The "expert" in the technical center gave you very bad information, due to lack of knowledge (which is ok, normally they just know the necessary basics to make a quick diagnostic and later forward the phone for the repair center).
And you don't void warranty if you request the bootlader code from Huawei, they provide an official service for that! Also, even if you unlock your bootloader, Huawei is not informed about it! So no problem there.
I'm 99% sure that, following some tutorials that you can find in this same forum, you could get your phone back working again.
Nevertheless, good that you have a new one and I advise you to keep it stock.
Lol i can guarantee you this was no virus. Can you post a link to the guide you followed?

Some users voided warranty by unlocking bootloader. Service says unauthorized
interference in firmware by user
Should have read better the guides and threads Many people were in the same or similar situation including me but finally got their phones working with root
