I just loaded the new 1.5 royal ginger rom and have a lil issue.
How on earth do you change the base icons?
I mean instead of having the 3 icons how do i change it to like 4 or 5?? i cant find the setting anywhere in this new rom.
Any help?? thanks!
BTW team royal you guys ROCK thanks for the DEV on your roms!!
Royal Ginger at it's current state doesn't have an option to change the dockbar icons atm as far as I know. Most people just use a launcher like launcher pro plus, adw ex, go launcher ex, regina launcher or spb mobile shell 3d.
Royal uses the stock aosp launcher from Google. As said above it currently is not able to be customized. A third party launcher will give you that ability.

What options are there to change the way the dock looks on stock 2.1 (eclair)
Can i remove the background that surrounds the dock?
Can i add an icon, so instead of 4 there could be 5?
Can i change the icons?
Can i change the colors?
Can i swap the contacts for different app?
Can i change the dock style so i cant make it look like the iphones?
etc etc etc
You should look at adw ex. Its 3 bucks but worth every penny.r

thanks to both of you but i forgot to mention is there any options while still running TouchWiz i tried Adw, launcher, and i think the other one was GOLauncher (the one with the 3leaf clover logo), but i prefer to use TW
I just flashed bionix 1.3.2 and its a perfect rom but it doesn't have any launchers installed. What do you guys think the best launcher is?
I use ADW EX.
I've tried others but I always go back to it.
LauncherPro is my choice.

My favorite is still launcher pro. I use a gingerbread themed one. I love the extra widgets as well that you get when you buy the pro.
Launcher Pro is the best for me. It's smooth and customizable.
Launcher pro here .
There are about 20 threads that asks this question ..download LauncherPro and ADW and any other launcher you see in the Market and test them out for yourself ...

2 choices are the most popular since the beginning of time.
Launcher Pro
or
ADW (ex)
I have both, and i generally use Launcher Pro Plus, love it.
it saves everything and i find ADW a bit complicated to use maybe because i'm used to LPP.
adw ex or shell 3d
Try go launcher

Has to be Zeam. Give it a try and you won't ever look back, the snappiest launcher by far.
Try something different:
REGINA 3D Launcher

I am pretty sure ginger uses the stock launcher. Therefore, if you wanted to add additional pages you would gave to use something like adw launcher or launcher pro both of which can be found in the market
I know ADW Launcher allows seven.

You will need to install one of the many aftermarket launchers. I use adw, tried launcher pro but have more history with adw so I use it.

Re: Launcher
I prefer to use nova launcher, trebuchet now is unable to uninstall apps using the drag and drop method. Nova is faster in my instance and able to run through the widget screens without lag

+1 Apex Launcher is smooth, and it also has all of Nova's Features and More. (Plus it's free )
I use the Nova launcher. Pretty close to ICS as I see it but the cube animation is a lot like golauncher which I use on my tablet.
I use the trebuchet, its the smoothest so far compared to all others
Been giving apex a go an its my new fave
IceColdGlacier®
I've been using nova but apex has such good reviews from what I've seen I'm downloading it now

Apex is my new favorite. I just love all the options I get and it's really stable on my Glacier running IceColdInsomnia 6.2.1.

+1 to add, enabling the wallpaper hack bypasses any bugs with static wallpapers. No static wallpaper scrolling? ADW. Plus full settings backup and desktop configuration backup to SD card for us flash addicts.

Since I am content running the Black Ice rom, I decided to use the zeam launcher that comes with it. I had to force myself to stop using GO Launcher, because i felt it was useless to change roms, if i was just going to put the same Launcher over it.

I tried them all. At first I liked Nova but then switched to the default 'launcher' however after updating to zips 3.11, the default launcher no longer exists.
Is there a tweek or a custom ics launcher which will enable deleting applications by long pressing on an application like iOS or miui? I know go launcher has this feature but I really like the stock launcher. I know there is also ics theme for go launcher but I wasn't that impressed with it to be honest.
