market help - GT540 Optimus General

I cant seem to install the android market on my gt 540..... last week did i update it from android 2.1 to 2.3.3 swiftdroid 1.8 and i got market running on the phone fine and all but now today when i decided to change from 1.8 to 1.9..... i cant install the market like i used to before.... what i used before was a zip file called gapps_gb_20110120.zip that seemed to work before..... but know it doesn't seem to work for me.... and i did delete some folders from my sd card..... might it be because of that?

connect your phone with internet and it should be downloaded automatically

i have my wifi on and all that but.... it doesn't seem that it downloads or anything like that.....

Log into your google account..

YouTube update wont install

Im using the miui rom and already tried uninstalling YouTube via titanium backup.. Whats the deal?

Got the same issue running CM6. It says the app is not signed correctly
Delete it from system/app then adb push it. Everyone had the same issue when gmail and car home came to the market.
New YouTube is stunning though. Hint to what Gingerbread will be like?
Sent from my HTC Desire
But why is it? Because of the custom rom? Also, how do i do the adb thing? Could you be more precise?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think its because its originally stored in system/app and after we update, it tries to store on your SD, without properly deleting the system version.
Something like that anyway

Any of you having network problems with the new youtube app?
I keep getting a network error, error 400 I think it is. Its not because I don't have internet, because I have no problem using the browser or market. Any know solution?

Uninstalling in titanium backup reboot than install in market

To use Widgets; apps must be stored in phone memory. Once you update YouTube goto settings>applications>manage applications select YouTube and move to phone.

A Solution
I had the same problem - tried installing and got package incorrectly signed, solved it by uninstalling YouTube with Titanium Backup, restart, and then installing from the market.
If i tried installing straight after the uninstall it failed - meaning restart is a must.
Using OpenDesire 4.0.36.
I have manage to install new ver.
first delete from system/app/youtube.apk than also
in data/app/youtube.apk
restart
& now download new Youtube from market or if you tray to install
before downloaded apk file ,should be in SD/download/download3.apk
or some other nummber

Okay im really getting pissed off from this sh#t! i have tried EVERYTHING thats been explained here but it just doesnt work, and here's why i think: when i delete the youtube apk with root explorer and restart, its there again! it comes back :S and the installation is always unsuccesfull!
please please PLEASE! what can i do about this? im already sick and tired enough to just throw a new rom on there
@ mod: sorry for the language, please close the thread im just gonna download the new miui rom with the new youtube cooked in.
install worked no problems for me, deleted youtube.apk from /system/app/ using root explorer.. rebooted and installed from the market with no issues
I can't find YouTube app on market, it just doesnt show up!!
When i go to "m.google.pt/youtube/" it says that my device is not compatible with youtube... lol
I have a Vodafone 845 that come with stock youtube player... lolz....this sucks :s

New Android Market, tested working on Epic

Hey folks. I've got the brand-new Android Market running great on my Epic running Android 2.2 DK28. It has not been officially released but has been leaked and hosted.
You can pick it up here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/1...id-market-apk-ripped-posted-for-all-to-enjoy/
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible if it doesn't work great on yours.
EDIT- Found a thread about this posted before mine over in Themes and Apps. My bad, I checked but must not have noticed it.
Every time I've tried to install the APk it says there was a parse problem. I've never seen this before as I've installed a lot of apks and updated my. Market manually the last time. I've tried different websites with the APk. Even tried it by downloading it on my computer and putting on the root of my sd card and trying to install it thru astro. What am I doing wrong?
I went right to the article I linked above through my browser on my Epic, clicked on the "You can find it here" link, which sent me to http://www.multiupload.com/B6Y171MCYU.
From there, I clicked on the MegaUpload link, http://www.multiupload.com/MU_B6Y171MCYU, waited the 45 seconds, downloaded it to the Epic, launched it, installed over the old Market, and started it.
Thanks! Works great!

HBO Go not compatible with the Evo 4G???

I just tried to install HBO Go from the Adroid Market website and it told me that it's not compatible with my device. It doesn't even show up in the Market when I go there on my Evo. Has anyone been able to install it successfully? If so, how?
I got it installed on mine, haven't tried to watch anything yet (data speeds still suck in my area) but it seems to work.
Works for me.

So were you able to install it directly from the Market or what? Are you stock? Rooted? Custom ROM???

I got the app to successfully install on my EVO running Rooted Stock 3.70, the roadblock I hit with the app is that Time Warner Cable isn't a supported provider yet

Some of you guys said you got it installed and that it works, but didn't say how you installed it. So anyway, my only guess is that it's because I'm running the leaked Gingerbread ROM.

Regarding the missing apps, I found a link to a file called fix.apk, which is a Market Fix. It's in this thread, 5th post down:
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/04/29/hbo-go-released-on-android/
You have to install it like you do any other apk, then go to your app drawer and open it(Market Fixer) and apply the fix. Reboot your phone and you should see all apps that exist in the Market.
Yes I did just now it works good.

I had the same problem but it may not be the same answer. There is a new Market out, which is bloated with jpegs. It seems that there are different Markets for each phone model. I'm running i9100 too. So, look for vending.apk sgs i9100 and download it. It may not install when you try it. In that case you will need a rooted phone. Delete vending.apk from system/apps then copy the downloaded one to same directory, do not install it. Reboot the phone. It should now work. If it doesn't, you will have to try and download another version of vending.apk

@inkyadrian- Will try your suggestion n let u know...
Mine just updated itself today to the new version that includes books and video. It didn't even ask. I was on Wi-Fi and it kept saying "no network found, retry?" When I went back to 3G it updated itself but it took awhile. I don't know if this might be related to your issue.

Are you definitely sure that it isn't there? Considering that it does come installed stock.
Otherwise, install it from this link: http://code.google.com/p/synergy-base/source/browse/trunk/system/app/Vending.apk?r=239

You really should go back to wherever you bought it from and ask for an explanation.
If that doesn't work out for you, a simple way to install it without connecting it to your computer would be to install ROM Manager and then install Google Apps from there. I personally would take the new Market from the XDAForums.
Hey, if you are going to install the market, it might as well be the new one.
How can he install ROM Manager easily without the Market, and what use would that be? I've merely provided the apk, that's all there is to it.
To the OP, remember to allow installing from unknown sources under Settings > Applicationa
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
I see your point.
I was just assuming that if he didn't have the market, he probably didn't have some g apps either.
Doing it either way is easy enough, and in any case, and if you're going to install through an apk, then you might as well take the new one (that said, I haven't checked out your link as yet).
Does ROM Manager give a flashable package or a bunch of apks? Because again, if he isn't rooted, he can't flash zips either...knowing ROM Manager, I'm presuming they are zips.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
ROM Manager deals with installing Google Apps the same way it deals with any other ROM. It is a pretty useful thing tto hhave, especially because a lot of ROMs ship without Google apps.
So yeah, I'm guessing that you would have to root.

Sugggest you back to shop to ask for an explain. By default it comes with HTC Sense and all Google apps. If you sure it is not there, maybe the shop flash you another customized rom?
as far as know its the standard rom the phone came with
its wasn't root etc.
its not a UK phone its from Kuwait but it has English etc on it
i was wondering if it doesn't have apps market as standard in that country??
i got it online so would mean posting back, emailed them and that dont understand why it didnt have the market on.
