Of course it does. The EVO has flash and um, um, well that's really the only connection I see here.
Actually there are more connections when you really think about it. These devices run on batteries. They have memory. There considered electronics. I can go on and on......
You see, when you use your imagination you can come up with so many things that link this to the EVO!

whatever guys...im showing you a big innnovation for apple, them getting a way of flash, something that us android guys have had over them for a while...all i said is i think its cool, a little late but cool, but its still not better than android because if i read correctly it has to reroute the videos into a format i devices can read...some of you need to relax and open a notch on your belt,real talk
and btw how is this not related to us? We have had flash for a while and has been a main selling point on commercials! if you listen to advertisements you can hear it yourself, some of you really need to calm down

You are missing the point everyone is trying to make. You are clogging the general section with garbage that really has nothing to do with the evo. There is an off topic section that is accessible from the main forum (I believe that's where it is). I think your threads would be more appropriate there.

+1 all you do is link us to phandroid or engadget or some other android/tech blog. Some of us already frequent these sites and see this information and the rest of us don't go to those sites for a reason.

Innovation?? More like a need. Apple decided to take off flash favoring HTML5, unfortunately a very significant amount of websites still use flash and there is no incentive to make the switch to the new format. I guess Jobs got pissed that he could not access many websites that were flash enabled and decided that it was needed to put it back. There no innovation on this.

I won't agree on this. As stated by myself and others: we see these already. If they are not "HTC Evo 4g" related they do not belong here. Even if they are related they are not necessary. It is nice to get a discussion going from time to time but it makes it really hard to sift for ACTUAL news when you post so much of this stuff.

Also, no CM rom because Sammy hasn't given us source code for drivers and whatnot.
The other thing about this post that i find just staggeringly stupid is that if you look down a little bit on most days you'll see noobnl's posts about 6.1 betas for the epic and how hes working on it, which only goes to prove that the search feature is either dead or non function for the Epic section of the forums, or somehow the words get distorted when other people that the poster and the literate read them.

HAHA, love it. Yeah I was commenting the other day on how google's servers are apparently down. Perhaps we could start a thread "[ROM][FIX][BUG][REQ][WIKI][STICKY][SEX][PLEASE][STOP] SEARCH FUNCTION BROKEN!!!!!!!!!" to let everyone know that they will need to just man up and create a new thread every time they have a question about anything, no matter how stupid, useless, or even already answered.

i would say someone should sticky a post with some ettiquite (cant spell since my work's IE doesnt have spell check lol) "tips and tricks" kind of like the forum's rules that you have to read when you sign up, except it would probaly be moved to the general sub forum because it has nothing to do with development and probally be ignored worse than XDA's rules.

We are contributing by trying to *bully* some sense into a format(forums) that was tried and true, within our circles, until those who probably don't fit into anything we do here, (just want hand outs) come and muddy the waters....

This thread will get closed, as it does in fact accomplish nothing. I just wanted, if only for a short period of time, to bring into light how much effort people put in to complaining around here. No, it is most certainly not everybody. But for crying out loud, the general section is beginning to look like an activist corner.
An outsider would come to our forum, see all those threads I posted...and probably just think of how much of an ungrateful bunch we are. I mean people have every right to their opinion, but seriously, there are enough threads to start a "hate" section.

HOWEVER, its not fair to the people who are making due with what we have and having fun making it better, to have their posts absolutely buried by 12+ threads complaining about LITERALLY the same issues. Hey, yeah WP7, um, in some ways its a great phone, like virtually no lag, easy UI and the quality is just good. But, in saying that, android can just do alot more, it has everything and more that you can ask for. WP7 has great protential, but compaired to other smartphones, its kinda a let down. Then again, i did use a motorola defy in one of the stores, and it was laggy as all hell, so i guess everything has its ups and downs. As for the name, i misspelled a word and then i kinda thought of it from there

I don't see how it'd be ironic if Samsung is first.
Google worked with them to release Gingerbread on some hardware that was only slightly different from the rest of their phones... They had an experience, resource, and time advantage over every other carrier... and yet they failed.
That's ironic. Samsung had every advantage, and yet couldn't even freaking get Gingerbread out on their flagship product before someone else. Seems like more motivation to me to avoid any future Samsung products.
And yeah, where to post things seems pretty obvious to me: Any discussion thread, where we're just talking about various random things go in General, questions go in Q&A, and actual releases (or things closely related to development... random questions about a ROM wouldn't warrant a new thread) go in Development. Posting things in the wrong section just to get more eyes seems fairly silly to me... if people aren't reading General, it's probably because they aren't interested in those things, probably only wanting actual ROMs/kernels/etc. Then again, making any comment on this topic seems to be a good way to get people to just flame you.

That's ironic. Samsung had every advantage, and yet couldn't even freaking get Gingerbread out on their flagship product before someone else. Seems like more motivation to me to avoid any future Samsung products.

The rules are the rules...its not me being a ****...this is in no way shape or form development....and belongs in general
Its not up to you to decide that just because more people go here that "news" should also be in here as well
The rules are the same for everyone..otherwise development sections would be even more cluttered and difficult to navigate than they already are

I have no Dev experience
I try different ROMs daily, from Cyanogen to Virus to ACS (Koni, Kings, thanks to you all) and back: I'm wondering if the best of these Dev's lifework couldn't be combined?
Here's what I'd love to see-
The performance of ACS meets the asthetics and tweakage of Cyanogen meets something entirely different from Sense (I like the Synergy v3.5 best, myself) and throw in free Mobile Hotspot for good measure.
Wish I had an input on Kernals and recoverys, just never studied up.
I can only hope a Dev stumbles upon this thread and cooks something up. All I can say is, as a Sprint employee, I know the phones. I'll help if I can, simply looking to get something started.

As a Sprint employee, you might want to be careful about what you post on here, specifically "free hotspot" and other things Sprint does not condone of it's employees.

You would be surprised at how involved Sprint is with people that post on forums, facebook, myspace, youtube, etc. I myself have been talked to by corporate security already.

I worked for t-mobile for 4 years in the past and I leaked pics, info all kinds of ish and I never got caught lol. I guess it depends on how you go about it. Of course when I did work for tmobile its not like they would find out dirkyd3rks's true identity anyways. I was just smart about it, always 1 step ahead.

I liked Vaelpak, except for the bat life. Didn't try any of the new versions tho.
Half my customers ask me to root their devices, most everyone within my company under 30 have rooted; people know about this stuff without even really knowing what goes into it. What can Sprint do to me when their are hundreds of YouTube vids posted showing how to root and which Rom is good, etc? These companies may be watching, but can't do a thing about it. Like Big Brother Lite haha
I got excellent battery life on VaelPak, and it's the first thing that came to mind when I read the OP. Performance is on par with with any other ROM and has all the customizability you could ask for.
On any of the more popular ROMs, battery life should be good unless an app is misbehaving or the kernel isn't playing nice (imho).
What can they do? Exactly what moto is... encrypt the boot loader.

A req for "the best parts of all the ROMs he loves, cooked together in some unspecified vague manner, bug free and working for him"?
Frankly, if I was a dev here, I would be kinda... insulted.
(lol, as a "sprint employee", perhaps then you could Give a dev or two a phone of their choice, that might inspire them. )
I can't be fired from a company I don't directly work for. Especially considering I'll be of almost no use to a Dev and have yet to "leak" anything

Assuming your handle stems from personal experience and not some hypothetical situation, I would expect a more liberal approach to "following the rules" so to speak. If Sprint is too busy paying people to surf Xda for people like me "hypothetically" instead of pouring money into Clearwire and the WiMax network, then we can basically kiss nationwide 4G goodbye
