btw ATT users rejoice (update 19 April)
http://www.winrumors.com/exclusive-att-windows-phone-7-nodo-update-due-april-19
Wonder what the ATT special Features are... probably another free trial of their useless services.
yeah, it looks like they haven't heard any of us who bypassed them complaining of any problems, so they figure the beta test is complete.
I wonder if AT&T is also going to push the Samsung specific update that has been showing up on other networks.
Wondering same thing. Will we get a notification to update if we used the VPN method to update. (not the chevron)

I wouldn't be surprised if you did. I guess we wait 3 days and see. I like what I've seen of NoDo. Now onto great anticipation of MANGO! (Or most likely an in between update termed Pre-Mango)
Wish our debranded focus also get the firmware update... That's all.
No thanks to the AT&T features...

Can't this «features» contain an updated Audience noise suppression chip driver?
Not worth the wait (and sooo glad I did the VPN hack update)
Apparently the ATT exclusive *features* they are adding is a WISPr protocol that switches you to login into att wifi hotspots automatically when near one. To save you (and them) data bandwidth.
The other feature is to allow you to sync your contacts with your att address book. Even lamer.
So yes ATT made you wait this long for nothing.
Lesson learned. Always rely on the fans and community for support, not the ones you have a contract with.

bluetooth driver update?
I had done the unbranding then got the NODO usiong the VPN method. I am on ATT. I just plugged my phon einto Zune and it shows a Samsung update is available. I am updating now. I am guessing it showed my phone was already on NODO then went on to the Samsung.

Only drivers can be downloaded from Software tab now. Perhaps a new link is forthcoming with patches, or perhaps 2.3?
Right, who am I kidding....
They pulled the update within 3 days of it's release, I believe.
Sprint site did, I believe. Samsung's was still up as of this morning, gone now.
Now I just hope they release a new update soon...Ever since the froyo update my 3g is slow and wifi and 4g are practically useless, It times out so much
they'll probably be releasing a new update soon.
Check my thread in development for the files

And the waiting game begins again. And as usual we will probably hear nothing specific from Samsung or Sprint about a newer update and a time frame...sigh.
Probably yanked due to that big root exploit that made its way on the market.
Yep, but I and probably others have all the files from the site. See threads or contact us if ya want them.

Yeah, I noticed late last night the files were gone. I'm thinking positive here and believe it signals the imminent release of an improved Froyo.

Not likely, since that exploit would also affect all versions of Eclair. Currently only Gingerbread has a native patche for the exploit.

I got the files straight from the samsung website. I was literally about to update to eb13 but after reading this i am wondering if i should wait or maybe update with the roms that are out there instead? any opinion? also i spoke with a sprint store manager who told me she did the update yesterday for multiple customers using the file downloaded from samsung and there where no issues.
Did my dads over the weekend and he told me yesterday his phone is working better than it ever has.

When I first updated to EB13, it was aweful. I can't get Samsungs drivers to load on my Sony laptop or desktop so no rooting...plus all of the known failures.
I took it in to a Sprint Center and they had soome fixes and did a clean install for me including, the fixes. Now, for the most part, all is good. Still lousy wifi signal and no root, wired tether or wireless tether... except through The Hotspot.
The tech said it was what Samsung had given them to fix the update.

This is my first motorola android phone. How long does it typically take after they release the final build of a sw version for them to officially release to the general public? Also, has anyone who has gotten the update, uploaded it anywhere for others to download or is that even possible with this type of release? Thanks.
p.s. Can't post links but am sure most have seen the other 2.2 thread in this forum...
Ok so it looks like we may be in some trouble. www.androidcentral.com/motorola-bravos-froyo-update-delayed-cusp-its-release#comment-126421
This is att causing the delay. If you look in the pic of AC's post, the message was being viewed on MyCSP which is a website att uses for its employees to get any info att related. Looks like bravo users get the shaft again. Oh well, maybe the delay wont be that long.
They better not pull a cliq xt on us and that may very well be true. Even with motoblur this phone can more than handle froyo.. but well see what they say.

Yes it would seem that AT&T is dragging heels somehow. Beta testing has gone well and I have not had too many issues. Patience is the key here I think. Froyo is on the way
I don't follow the Bravo stuff too much being a Captivate owner but my wife just came to me with her Bravo asking me what this message was about.
It was a text from AT&T telling her to follow the instructions to download the Froyo upgrade.
Came here to see what the forum had to say about it.
I'm loving froyo. It's snappier, and I had no issues with settings migration. The youtube app is great, the exchange email client is way better, and I like a few other minor changes.
There are some small features that have been removed, but I haven't payed attention to those because I didn't personally use those features. The only one that comes to mind is screen lock disable had been changed/removed.

MY droid always popped up updates even when I was only on wifi. I imagine we'll all get it or someone will post the update.zip anyway.
I'm curious if the Tegra 2 versions of flash (10.1) floating around will have something to interact with, and start functioning. They have with everything else. As soon as I get the OTA (no 3G), I have a folder full of them in my Dropbox.

You can force a check by rebooting. Not the best method, but it works.
Why do unlocked xooms need to get relocked?
I understand why you need to be on stock boot.img but i don't understand why you need to have the device relocked to get the update.
It makes no sense.

It might have a minimum time between checkins. Mine said 9:20am, then showed current time for last checkin when I rebooted.
So would it be fair to say that those of us who have rooted should wait until this update is released to see if in fact we really do need to revert back to stock/locked condition? Because I'd really be pissed if we had to lose all of the data on our Xooms just for this update, when very few of us have actually changed anything with the boot.img, etc. I mean back when I first rooted my N1 but before I flashed custom ROMs, I never had to wipe back to stock to receive OTA updates, so why would that be the case here??
Hello Xoomers!! Motorola announced that they are releasing Honeycomb 3.1 to Xoom Wifi owners starting today in phases. I believe the updates are based on your MAC addresses on your Xooms, this was what I was told (sources withheld) but I can not confirm this 100%. Anyway, we should start seeing a steady rollout of updates as there have been no issues with the updates with Xoom 3g owners. Please be sure to thank me
Fingers crossed!!
Forgot to mention, the official WIfi only version of 3.1 does NOT contain the Movie tab in the marketplace. No biggie to me, but it will be released sometime later.

Also there has been official word on the update being released to wifi users. I cant wait to see the popup on my xoom. Remember though, its in phases, so please be patient people. Also, 3.1 does not fix the slowness in auto rotate because this is not a google problem, its an issue with the Xoom models which should be patched soon(again sources withheld) may have something to do with increasing the cache but again Im not 100% sure on this. Good luck!!

This was not done purposely, looks like their was a "bug" which caused issues with Wifi owners. But I would rather have the update now than to have to wait another few weeks just for the movie tab to be added. Enjoy your 3.1!! I'm told that the auto-rotate issue should be patched also hopefully soon!!

Hey there! yes, the SD issue is NOT Motorola's fault, contrary to what is believed..this is a issue with Honeycomb itself which Google is aware of and will fix. The other tablets that do have the SD card support are using a "work-around" but its not the official fix. From what I "hear" the issue is how Honeycomb sees the SD card, this will be officially fixed soon. I believe that the other tabs will receive an update for the SD card also, as the way it works for them is not "official"

Hey there,
quick question, as i'm new to this, since this is my first android phone. so i've heard that 4.2.2 was released about a week ago. now apparently this update comes in waves, meaning that not everyone will get it at the same time. now i've got two questions about it, since i still haven't received this update:
- is this normal that you have to wait so long to get an update that's already available to a lot of people? (don't wanna do the framework trick)
- what is the purpose of that? please don't tell me, google couldn't handle the traffic when some people want to download this tiny update at the same time? oO
i'm just asking because im starting to worry if there's something wrong with my phone that makes it unable to receive system updates. i don't need the update that bad.
Yes. Don't worry.
I have a n4 ,n7 and n10. Framework worked for me 1st time with all the devices. Its very easy. Why not just do it???

Worked fine for me.
Clearing Google services framework from the apps section definitely works.
I haven't gotten it either. Framework worked on N10 and gnex. I'm mainly not forcing it on N4 out of curiosity of how long it will take. Yes, I'm strange but not really needing update on N4. No reboots, no butter in the update, etc.

They stagger the updates so their servers don't get overloaded with everyone trying to download the update at once. Microsoft does the same thing with Windows updates but they finish within a few days.
Canada here. My N7 took five days to get the OTA. It's been five days since the rollout began and still no OTA on my N4 yet.
