I bought my samsung focus a week ago off ebay. I unlocked it through fastgsm.com. The unbranding guides Ive seen on this forum all refer to devices that have been dev unlocked. Is it still possibly for me to unbrand my phone
You will have to unlock it with some sort of unlocker whether it be Chevron or Dev unlock. If you have a ".edu" email address I would actually go the route of Dev unlocking it. It's free to join app hub if you're a student, plus IMO it's nice having Microsoft unlock your phone for you. It makes me feel warm inside.

So It could be contributed to an unlock code gen?
If there is one being created
If you're referring to SIM unlock, then you need to do it either through T-mobile for no charge, if you've been a customer for 90 days and don't have an outstanding balance, or through an online unlocking service, which usually charges $15-20.
@uansari1
I believe the OP is wanting to give a dev his unlock code so a unlock code generator can be produced. It's common practice when creating a keygen to collect as many examples as possible to help in the cracking process.
@CrazyEye
It's nice to see your willing to help out but to my knowledge an unlock key generator is not being developed because TMo is so friendly when it comes to unlocking the G1.
Oh... my mistake. I agree the OP's intentions are praiseworthy.
Darn, my phone was supposed to come to me unlocked from HTC after they repaired it (new mobo, new IMEI) but I didn't get it unlocked..
I don't have t-mobile >.<
If anyone out there is dev a generator this might come in handy
IMEI: 358279015416462
Unlock Code: 44310134
I'll give you news on the next unlock code I receive from HTC
Give me a heads up when the generator is out!
Are there any network unlocking tools created for the HD2 yet?
Yep there are...Search for SIM unlocking. There are none that are free though. If you want to unlock it for free call your carrier and ask them for the code.
Will you need proof of purchase if you call t-mobile? I bought mine new off ebay but no proof of purchase. I seriously need an unlock code in order to use the phone!
Hi there,
I have been looking to unlock my Rogers sony ericsson xperia x10a so I can send it to a friend in another country for over a month.
I havent been successful using the sim unlocking code systems. I have tried three different websites.

Unlocking will not debrand or visa versa. They are completely different. Use the Flash Tool to debrand, which is free. I don't know of any way to unlock yourself with usb. I think you need the code, which costs money.

I'm in the same boat. I have no problem with paying the money, but the 3 different brick and mortar places I've used can't unlock the phone, and the 5+ online sites that say that they can give me an unlock code, return my money and say that it's not possible.
Is there any way of unlocking this phone at all?

Thanks forbthe info. I dont mind if I have to pay or not. I paid all prices starting from 11.50 to 49.99 to get the unlocking key from unlocking websites but they all returned my money after one or two days saying they dont have this phones unlocking key.
I called se they said they cant give me the code. I should contact my service provider.(rogers) which I did and they wouldnt give it to me since the contract I have with them isnt done yet.
One of the websites told me the only option remaining is the usb. So thats y I tried loooking it up and couldnt find anything. But there are some youtube clips showing how to unlock itbwith usb, however there is no link or info.
Im tired

I know that I have seen threads on unlocking Rogers here on xda X10 forum. Keep searching.
there is a guy called lancez who unlock X10 here in the forum, comments from other users sounds nice, but he unlocks ATT, I don't know about Rogers
send a PM

After a certain amount of time (18 mo. for me with att contract) they will provide the unlock code for free. Only think is you need a non carrier sim card. In USA that means T-mobile, cost of sim card $10. Just did it today. Insert non ATT sim, then unlock screen, then phone prompts for unlock code > network unlock. Att store showed me his screen on how to unlock, it was Rogers, same procedure.
I paid 6$ to unlock my rogers x10, went on Ebay, dont remember the name but it took 6hres to get code, I'll try to fin it for you.

Hello,
I have read the sprint samsung unlock thread DIY and also some other threads for flashing ROMs etc
Instead of trying to do this myself is it possible to unlock a phone that I recently purchased off CL by calling a service/purchasing a code from a website?
Is there a certain service that is more reputable than others?
I would normally unlock a device myself but this one seems more difficult than normal, with people as recent as today "softbricking" their phones.
Thanks,
aga080
No, so do it yourself or buy an already locked phone.

It depends on which model (L720 or L720T) and where you are located. There is not "code" unlock on these, but a competent mobile phone tech in your area should be able to do it for about the market rate to do a traditional Samsung late model smartphone "code" unlock (30-45 bucks).
Hello,
I would like some help regarding unlocking a Sprint Galaxy S8. Sprint will not unlock the phone for me so I have to do it through a third party. I've been reading a couple forums but I am a little bit confused. When I go to third party websites they will send me an unlock code, I have to insert the other sim and then I have to enter the code. But I've also read some threads about an unlocking app or that you have to install something, I'm not sure. I was hoping someone could clarify this for me and help me out.
Thanks in advance.
you would have to use a third party website, I recently unlocked my sprint galaxy s8 with the octopus box since I ordered one. just be careful with which site you are going to use to get the unlocking service.
